I wouldn't jump out of a plane WITH a parachute.......... oh, let me be honest. I probably wouldn't get IN a plane to start with much less jump out of one! I'm afraid to watch the video lol.

Obviously sky jumping with a parachute has become so common (even 80 yo grannies do it), so this is probably what you have to do to show you are tougher than anyone else.

Because this guy did and landed dead centre in a 100x100ft net. Saying he landed "dead centre" was probably not the best choice of words .........

I just watched it...they showed it on the news. No. I would not jump out of an airplane with, but particularly without, a parachute. No way, not happening, out of the question, HELL NO. But I did wonder-and I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer-particularly when it comes to mathy/sciencey stuff, but ... you jump out of a plane. You drop. There is a calculation that includes all kinds of factors and you are hurtling toward earth at a gazillion miles an hour. Somewhere in all that people throw around the words 'terminal velocity.' So how is that from 25K feet when you hit the net after dropping at such a speed you don't get hurt-because at some point, it doesn't matter how soft the surface is... Did he have on one of those squirrel suits that allowed him to slow down some before hitting the net? (this may be a physics question. But I may not be smart enough to know. )

I was just so impressed that he made the centre of the net. Not *quite* center. He was definitely closer to the left side of that net. Too close for my comfort anyway. Hell, jumping out of anything that works perfectly fine isn't in my comfort zone either.

Nope! Once the plane is in the air, I see no reason to leave before it lands.

Fuck no. I watched the video. His landing was a little too near the edge of the net for me.

The idea freaks me out enough to not even watch the video. I love to travel, HATE to fly (I have to take Xanax), so no, I'd never jump out of a plane, parachute or not.

He free fell 7km!! I don't understand the math, allowing for winds, etc...in determining an exact landing spot. He was off to the side too much for me!
You could not pay me enough to jump, even with a parachute!

I watched it last night.
Up until 4 minutes or so he was to wear a parachute. Then got the okay not to.
I am pretty sure that the whole stunt depended on the net having enough give to slow him down , but having no bounce. It is the bounce that would have injured him.
All in all the commercials were way to much, and I almost turned it off.

And what really got me was that the last however many thousand feet he had to flip over so that he would land on his back meaning he wasn't able to see where he was in relation to the net. Probably didn't matter since he couldn't change anything at that point but still! Don't know whether to call him brave or just stupid.

Which is why the net could not have any bounce to it.
