It has been about three years since I've eaten a donut and I want donuts. I don't want a couple of donuts, I want a couple of dozen. I want chocolate cake with chocolate icing, glazed, maple bars, cinnamon rolls, white cake with pink frosting and sprinkles. I want to just sit with a big box of them and eat them all. I have been wanting to eat donuts for at least six weeks. I have resisted thinking the craving would pass but it has lasted for SIX weeks.
I'm not going to give into the damned craving but I just wish it would go away... Crap, I thought I would feel better if I wrote that all out but now I just want donuts MORE.

Will this help? I can't eat normal food. I love food. LOVE LOVE LOVE. If I can get used to not eating orally you can get past this doughnut craving. I totally understand. I get cravings and it's almost painful to want it so badly. This too will pass. Have some protein w/a carb and see if the craving passes. Your blood sugar might be low or you just know the power of doughnuts.

I totally feel you, but you KNOW as well as I do that those donuts do not ACTUALLY taste as good when you eat them as you thought they were going to. BECAUSE THEY HAD TO TAKE OUT THE TRANS FATS. So now they just taste sweet. Blah.

I'm eating veggie straws while reading this and they taste like styrofoam. I agree a donut sounds heavenly. We have an amazing local bakery that makes the best donuts I have ever eaten. Occasionally my SIL will buy some in the wee hours of the morning when they are ultra fresh and leave a box on our front porch. It's better than Christmas!

The only reason I am not jumping on the donut train is that my husband grilled steak for dinner. I am pleasantly full.
I went 31 days without caffeine or any soda in July. I treated myself with a Pepsi today. While it wasn't bad, it just wasn't a delicious as it should have been. I am very slowly getting away from soda.

I had lost weight and then gained some. I just realized yesterday it was because I stopped drinking soda awhile and started back up.

I occasionally will crack open a 2 liter bottle and the first glass is great but I usually end up throwing the rest of the bottle out. Water is all that will actually quinch my thirst anymore.

I gave up soda several years ago as well, so now I get once maybe 2-3 times a year-typically only if I am eating a hamburger (it's just goes together, ya know?!)....sorry, I digress.... OP, I will have a donut tomorrow in your honor...I will save you the calories and guilt - because I'm a nice person

I would if I could eat just one but one won't cut it. I am the exact same way. People bring donuts into work all. the. time. I always say, "I'll just have half of one." If no one is looking I'll eat dam near the whole box! Not really but I just want to! I gave up soft drinks for Lent three years ago. I thought it would be simple but it turns out that I wasn't just addicted to the drink. I was addicted to leaving my department at work to go get the drink. It was much harder than I thought it would be. I've been mostly soft-drink-free since then. I have the occasional ginger ale or maybe a sip of a diet something but it has totally lost its appeal. Good for you for not giving in! m SaveSave

Do you like grapes? Try freezing some in a Baggie. When you get a sugar craving, have a handful. Most of the time, they will cut the craving for me.
Donuts sound better, I know. Your willpower impresses me. I give into cravings after a while just to free up the headspace.

Donuts are my nemesis. I just found out that our town is getting a 24 hour gourmet donut store that even has an "emergency donut delivery truck." (Hurts Donuts)
I am praying that it's not located anywhere near my house. The only thing that saves me from the donut stores that are on every single corner in the Dallas area (no joke) is that they close at noon and I'm never out and about by that time. But a 24 hour donut shop? That could be a real problem.

I will validate you and congratulate you for not giving in. I too love, love, LOVE me some donuts. Especially the good ones. Raised glazed. Jelly filled bismarcks. Those cinnamon twisted things. Old fashioneds. Filled long johns. The only thing that saves me from not eating more donuts than I do is the fact that I have to make a special trip to the store to get one now because most of our groceries are bought at Costco and they don't sell donuts. If I really want a donut I have to go to the regular grocery store which I don't like doing, and I only go maybe once every 6-8 weeks to get salad dressing, something needed for a recipe or other things we don't want to buy in bulk. My reward for going is buying myself a donut. What really sucks is that one donut costs about 75¢ but a pack of six is $3.99 and I'm always tempted to buy the box of six!

I'm not really helpful since I took a wrong turn the other day and was near the donut shop and went even though I was on my way to lunch. But, can you smell donuts and that satisfies the craving? At least with cinnamon buns, smelling them is always better than eating them for me. They're almost disappointing when I eat them because they smell so good! If so maybe a Yankee candle that smells like food will do the trick?

Does anyone else remember the mega-thread from the old board that had a similar title and turned into a pregnancy announcement? Is that pea with us? That baby would have to be about 8 by now!

We have cherries and they are fabulous.
I love donuts. I love donuts a lot.
But I will eat the cherries and the nectarines I have been ripening, too!
