for all the political posts. I am going to have to leave two peas until this election is over. Facebook is easy because I can block certain posters until the election is over but I cannot do that here.

That won't happen. Admin already said she's not adding anymore categories.
And, you can block certain posters here, just not threads.

Every single time this comes up. Why is it so difficult to scroll past and not click. I manage it all the time on titles I don't care about.

Join in more on the posts you do like, ignore the others (like I do about pets/vegetarian recipes/help wanted on places I haven't been etc etc) then we will get to know you more and you would be missed! Win win!

Honestly it will just be easier to leave until after November. its not like I will be missed, I will just miss the posts. If I'm wrong, then disregard. It sounds like you're down or maybe going through a rough time right now. If that's the case, I hope things get better asap. Why leave if you'll miss the posts? I also don't think that you will not be missed-you don't have many posts, so maybe we just don't know you very well yet. Whatever you decide, I hope it's what works for you and what you want

What we need is for both sides to realize that they are not going to change anyone's mind about their candidate of choice. We don't need multiple posts getting pages long when it's the same stuff being said on all of them.

Just don't open the threads. It's very easy to tell which ones are political. They all start with "Trump is the Antichrist" or "Hillary is a liar" . And if a particular poster's views are abhorrent to you, block them, and then open them to read them anyway, because you are nosy and and then you can say to yourself " Yep, that's exactly why I blocked you! You bigot loving blowhard!" (Oh, wait. That's what I do. Not what you should do.)

Besides, I don't think they are doing it to change people's minds. I think they are doing it to stir the pot, because they KNOW their opinion is not going to change what others think.

Lol. Just scroll on by. Up until this election that's what I always did. It's very easy to see which are the political posts, it's not even necessary to put ***political*** in the title. Unless someone posts the title of "Easy lemon pie recipe!" and then you open it up to find "#$&#* Clinton and #&$&%*# Trump". Otherwise just skip them and read all the other things you want to read. That's gotten me through every other election before now. (and I'm opening them now because I want to, not because the board is forcing me to.)

Well, speaking only for myself, I'm not a pot-stirrer. I participate in the Trump threads because I am speechless and flabergasted and astonished and bunches of other things that this man is actually a candidate for president of the United States.

I think we need two ongoing posts that people can add to, day after day. We can title them: WTF did Trump say/do now and Hillary's latest lies in here Cause we know it's the SSDD. Nothing changes. I feel sorry for our non-US peas having to suffer through this 18 month shit show.

Too bad it would be better if it just said "Hilary Emails and Benghazi" since that's all that the GOP seems to have to say on repeat. Trump on the other hand is just too easy. He says something insane daily, sometimes hourly. He just makes it too easy.

I don't understand.
Admin had already said no. Most peas don't want it.
Why in the world is it hard to just not click on those threads?
This is ridiculous.

I only sometimes participate in the political threads. After the first few pages, they get really monotonous, and I think some people mistake saying something Internet-loud, repeatedly, for being persuasive.
I am in the mood to engage sometimes. Sometimes I'm not, and then I don't.
I think you can participate here without engaging politically, but if you feel like you can't, that's ok.

I think it's just one of those "cycle" type things. Starting in Sept. there's going to be an insane amount of back to school threads, come teacher appreciation time there will be an insane amount of those, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc... Just certain times of year there are lots of threads about the same type of stuff. An election like this happens only happens every four years. Well actually, an election like this hasn't happened in any of our lifetimes I don't imagine, but you get what I mean. It's going to be the hot topic for a couple of months and then it'll get back to normal. It's just the average flow of a message board frankly.

You know, some people actually enjoy the nonsense that goes on, on the political threads. I read a lot of them for entertainment. Why on earth should those people stop what they are having fun doing, because one or two people are so delicate they can't take it and are incapable of scrolling past those threads? What is it about those who want to shut other people up or segregate them? I say go find a board more to your liking.

Trump puts foot in mouth and Hillary denies having a foot are the two themes this year. I used to want a separate board for politics, but decided that I could just scroll by. As long as it is contained w/in those threads who cares?

I don't think we need a separate board but the political threads are becoming a bit overwhelming. It's all well and good not to click on them but there really isn't much else going on.
Signed someone who doesn't know my political arse from my elbow!

I don't like politics. (Although I did post once or twice on a political thread in the 2 years I've been here.) However, I find a TON of threads on here to read that have nothing to do with politics. I choose to look past them and find the gems. I understand if you can't do that. I've had friends leave Facebook just because of politics. Do what's best for you!
