I watched. I think the right person was voted off. As they said themselves, they had reached their limit. I live not far from beautiful Bakewell. I'm sure there will be riots in the town tonight about Bakewell tarts v Bakewell Puddings v Bakewell tarts with iced topping, but I will say...they are all very tasty.

I did! I was a bit let down. Thought it was a ho hum episode.
Glad to see who went though.

I make mine with flaked almonds on top not icing, then again we usually have it warm with custard so the icing wouldn't work anyway!
And whereabouts are you? I live between Matlock and Derby on the A6.

Some of that Filo dough was SO crunchy. I thought Mary might have broken a tooth! I was glad to see Rav redeem himself but I'm afraid he might be next to go.
I so want Tom to do better.
I hate watching Candice's face when she's being judged. It drives me batty!
Jane has grown on me. She actually does some really great looking stuff. It's too bad she lost star baker just because she didn't do a traditional amuse bouche.
Thought Salasi's amuse bouche looked good.
Next week looks interesting. Again a new theme. FLORAL week!

SO looks like Paul is staying with GBBO when it moves next year. He signed a 3 year contract. Mary has decided to leave.
Interesting.

I don't have any issue with Paul staying - each member of the team has their own decision to make and if he wants to stick with the show then he shouldn't feel pressured not to because the others feel differently. It's not like either option is 'wrong'. The presents/judges weren't involved in the decision to move the show.
As a viewer I'm sad that the team will change because I think they have a great balance and chemistry with the judges and presenters the way it is now and you can't manufacture that, it's either natural or it's not. I've worked in places that have been sold to different groups (one hospital I worked in was sold 5 times in the 10 years I was there) Each new owner brings in their own ideas, policies etc. Sometimes it's all good and you stay on happily sometimes the changes aren't to your liking and you decide to leave. I'll give the new version a try, I might like the new team and keep watching or I might not. If I and lots of others don't like it, then that will send a pretty clear message to the production company who got too greedy.

Who's still watching the bake off? I still have no clear favourite to win although I think Jane is probably the best out of the ones left.
But I had to laugh at "the jousting pole really should have gone in the hand" I'd love to have been there for that...I wonder how long they had to take a break for to get the laughter under control?
