How the heck do you guys keep your make up on?
I have tried everything and it just slides off my face in a matter of hours.
I tried using primer. Then no primer. The just moisturizer. Moisturizer and the primer. Nothing helps.
I use a setting powder (translucent)....
I use the "setting sprays" .... Nothing.
I used my 24/7 Urban Decay eyeliner which is supposed to be heavy duty .... gone in a couple hours.
I use eye shadow primer.
I've watched YouTube ...
I'm a restaurant manager so I'm running around in circles all day and in a hot hot kitchen/restaurant.
I don't have time to re-apply but I look like hell when my make up melts off.

`I was reading an article on Brazilian beauty trends and they said Brazilian women recognize it's hot and don't slather on their makeup, that's their big secret. I think if you're working in a hot kitchen, same thing, can't do the full face makeup. Pick a lip stain and waterproof mascara.

Have you tried Model In A Bottle spray? It's the only one that works for me, but it makes makeup last forever.

All my YouTube makeup chicks are baking their makeup onto their face and it stays forever for them according to their reviews. And if you're like me and thought these girls were shoving their face in a oven it's not like that...here is the definition when you google it. I also suggest searching it on YT so you can see them do it.
"The term, which has been used in the drag community for years, refers to letting translucent powder sit on your face for five to 10 minutes, which allows the heat from your face to set your base foundation and concealer, and then dusting it off your face, leaving you with a creaseless, flawless finish." <--- from Google 😊

I don't know which eyeshadow primers you've tried, but I think that the one from NARS works the best/lasts the longest.
The only other tip I have is that you should let your moisturizer really dry/soak into your skin before putting on your makeup. My makeup (which is only powder, plus eye makeup and lipstick) doesn't seem to last as long when my face is still "damp" from that.

I haven't tried it personally, but I read a lot about Ben Nye setting spray. I think it started out with actors using it for the stage, and then it spread to women using it with their everyday makeup.
Also, I like watching Emily Noel's YouTube. She really tries things out, and I'm pretty sure she's done a video on sweat-proof makeup.

I have the same problem. I can't seem to find a mascara that will not smear under my eyes. I've been trying not to put any moisturizer sunscreen around my eyes but that isn't helping. It's so frustrating.

Eddie-n-Harley - I have used primer potion by Urban Decay, and LemonAid by Benefit. I'm willing to try NARS and I'm out of foundation so I need to go to Sephora tomorrow - I'll have to pick that up. Thanks! I've tried the UD and lemonaid, and I like the NARS better than both of them, so I hope you will, too!

I have that same problem. L'Oreal Double Extend is the only one that doesn't smear. It's one of the tube type mascaras that washes off with water, but doesn't give you raccoon eyes.

I find Mac prefect and prime translucent powder works well for me. I have oily skin so mine disappears without it.

No amount of primer/powder ever helped me keep pencil eyeliner in place in the Houston heat and humidity. I've started using a good quality highly pigmented eye shadow applied with a skinny angled brush in place of pencil eyeliner just on the top lid, and it stays very well. I do set it with a little translucent powder at the end. I've given up trying to have liner stay on the bottom of my eye except for special occasions - but even then, the shadow stays better than pencil liner. I have the Tartelette palette (the matte one) and I use the four darkest shades as liners (and the rest of them as shadows, and they stay as well).
I also like the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation - it stays on really well even in the heat - and I use a NARS blush. Also a Cover FX concealer that doesn't budge, ever. And my favorite mascara right now is a cheap one - the Cover Girl in the pink tube in the Katy Perry display. Full Lash Bloom. No clumps, no smearing.

Due to sensitive, combination skin with rosacea, my makeup can quickly look blotchy (ie dry/caked on in some areas & disappears in others). I've sampled many brands from inexpensive to expensive. The following regimen & products currently work & last until I remove them:
Oil of Olay Moisturizer applied on clean skin ELF Primer (at least ten minutes after moisturizer) NYX Color corrector (at least 5 minutes after primer) L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation (MAC Studio Sculpt dupe, but with better color match & staying power for me) MAC sheer blush ELF creme eyeliner (in a little square pot) L'Oreal Double Extend mascara MAC (or Maybelline matte dupe) lipstick

I'm loving Dominique Sachse. She's a newscaster and I've learned a lot from her. My eye makeup stopped smearing and running when I switched to using a primer (Urban Decay Anti Aging right now; MAC paint pots work well for me too), gel liner and L'Oreal Voluminous mascara. I'm almost out of primer so I'm thinking of giving the NARS primer a go. I get the best recommendations for products here!

Great thread! My cousin's wife, who is petite and gorgeous, looked fresh as a daisy after helping in the kitchen all day at a family reunion. I looked like a hag! My makeup melted off, my hair was frizzy and limp at the same time, and my clothes were soaked in sweat. She still had lipstick on! I assumed she made a pact with the devil, but maybe not!

Try Lancome's liquid foundation, or the Estee Lauder Double wear. They are formulated for long wear. The Lancome works best for me in the South East Georgia 7th ring of hell summer heat and humidity.
Primers are hit or miss for me for the face. I can't tell if they help or not. For eyeshadow I forget more than I remember. I don't wear eyeshadow every day.
Baking your makeup is great if you have the skin of a 12 year old virgin. If you have fine lines or gasp wrinkles and bake your face people in space will see them. I personally don't like the road map look, so I don't recommend it.
Overall, for me living on the 7th ring of hell known as Georgia, I find the fewer layers of makeup the better. I us It CC cream most days with a little bronzer and blush. I use powder bronzer and blush and let them set the CC cream. A little eyeliner, mascara, and a little something on the lips and done. YMMV

My make up routine is pretty much the same except that I use a tinted moisturizer and no eyeliner. I find the less that I use the better, and pretty much any kind of powder tends to show all those little lines and imperfections that I prefer to pretend don't exist. I do sometimes wear eye shadows, but less is more for that as well. I wonder about body chemistry on this one-like your over all tendency to perspire. I tend to not get very sweaty unless I am actually working outside. In just generally day to day life, it would be rare for me to have a lot of dampness, particularly on my face. Maybe because of that my experience would be different?

I've found that a lot of my makeup issues come from my skin. Washing my face twice a day has helped a lot. And when my face is greasier, I use a wash made for oily skin. (I'm a Younique presenter so I use their products)
I also use a face primer and an eye primer. After applying the face primer, wait 5 minutes. It helps a lot! I choose foundations that have a "matte" finish and that seems to help. And I've found that some eyeshadows crease and rub off easier than others (sometimes even the same product just different shades react differently!)
I also prefer to use eyeshadows with an angled brush for eyeliner because it runs less than an actual eyeliner.
I'm a dancer and the other day I applied my makeup, went and performed under the hot stage lights, got stuck in a rain storm, and then worked out later in the evening - and my makeup still looked good!

I have used this for almost 10 years...the last tube I bought last week is different! I think they changed it. It smudoes and the tubes don't work. It's just like a regular primer now.

I use this Make Up Forever Aqua Seal Two drops mixed in with my foundation and you have to call congress to get permission for it to come off. Or a really good make up remover (oil based works best). I use it in my mascara, my eye shadow, on and on. There are a few YouTube videos but there is a random forum on underwater mermaid performers who introduced it to me (totally random find, google can help you find it too). For mascara, I use a tubing mascara over my "Are they Real" by Benefit. This combo and my mascara never runs. My routine if I'm going to be in the blazing hot humidity of outdoors is to moisturize, sunscreen, cc cream with aqua seal. Create eyeliner with eye shadow and aqua seal, mascara and then one to two coats of tubing mascara (my favorite is Clinique but covergirl has one that is good too). Then if I need a little color, I have a highlighter gel that is aqua sealed on. I do have a small mascara mixed with aqua seal for the beach/pool. Works awesome!
