We do a family gathering on the Saturday before Labor Day, so that's done and we spent yesterday recovering from it. And we went to dinner last night with our next-door neighbors, who are moving out of state next week.
Today is a day of errands and chores before the work week starts: grocery store, cleaning up the house, paying bills, maybe some errands for me, and mowing the lawn for my husband. I might do a load of laundry too, if I get ambitious!

We do our cookout on Sunday so Labor Day is free to get ready for school (YAY!!). May do some meal prep. Have to get the boy's phone fixed or he will DIE! Other than that, nada.

I'm spending quality time with my sewing machine making dino hoodies. I have to have 3 of them finished by Saturday morning to send off to England with my mom and sister who are going. I have one done. I work all week and won't have much time to sew this week. Oh, and I have a 5 year old to entertain and a 6 month old to keep happy. LOL

I am not doing anything fun either. Have spent the weekend mostly trying to get things back in order after being without power (thanks Hermine!) And then helped DD get her room cleaned out. She moved back home this year for her junior year of college but that meant organizing and getting rid of things that she needed from dorm but doesn't need anymore. So that was a good accomplishment but I feel like the rest of the house is pulling at me. Frustrated because everything I seem to touch in the kitchen today is going on the fritz! Irony for the BBQ thing -- usually we have good friends who have a cookout on Labor Day and we are often at the beach celebrating anniversary. We couldn't go this year thanks to Hermine!! And they aren't having their cookout.

I pulled a dead boxwood plant out of my front yard and replaced it with a new one. Also powerwashed the back patio. I'm going to put together a small lasagna for dinner. Other than those things I plan on watching YouTube videos and Netflix...haha

No way! I love staying home when I can. We had a nice lunch and plan on mowing the yard later, but that's it for us. It's our 23rd anniversary today and it's nice just being together with no distractions.

Just cleaning and getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. I'm a special Ed para so I'm sadly ending my summer vacation and am a little sad.

We are leaving this afternoon for Houston (8 hour drive) because I have an appointment at md Anderson tomorrow. Have a safe trip. Hope the appointment goes well for you. Labor Day weekend has always been a take it easy time for us, with no travel involved. When DD was younger, school was already back in session so we never traveled then either. We are just being rather lazy today. I need to run to the grocery store in a bit and then start putting a quilt top together. If it doesn't rain this evening, I'll throw something on the grill. Save

Thank you all! I don't feel so bad! Lol. I hate not being able to have fun when everyone else seems to be going about what they want, leaning me to cook, clean and do all the crappy stuff!

I hate holiday weekends because all it means is I have to work at home instead of out in public. We're business owners. :/

Just working today. My family does have an annual lobster and clam event down in our woodlot, but that is always on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

I have acupuncture later. Not sure why they're open on Labor Day, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from some great self-care. It's nice to have a 3 day weekend, though.

My husband had to go out of town Saturday for a work emergency and isn't sure when he'll be back, but I've been making good use of the time to do my homework and also get in some nice long walks to de-stress. The weather has been absolutely perfect, though they had predicted rain yesterday and today originally.

We aren't doing what we normally do---which is either camping or bbq with family or friends. We went on a family walk around a local lake---super fun and the weather is perfect. Now we are packing up our garage and storage room since we move in a few weeks. Not fun but satisfying at least because those are big things on my moving checklist and I couldn't tackle them alone with a one year old around. Soon I will shower and we are all going to a local pizza place to celebrate my almost 7 year old's birthday. Then I'm gonna do nothing!!

We don't celebrate labor day with a bbq or anything normally I don't think that's a Canadian thing lol. Normally by September the weather is cooler which it is today. Yesterday while driving thru the mountains we ran into snowflakes and there was definite snow falling at higher levels ugh I have a feeling it's going to be a harsh winter!

I'm sitting on my porch with a library book and a beer. Later I might take one of my kids to the skate park.

Nothing. I don't live near family any more. Growing up my family always had a get together. I've tried hosting a get together in the past but everyone I know has plans with their families. So I gave up.
I'm single now and honestly, no one invites the single girl over for dinner. EVER.
Usually this stuff doesn't wear on me as much as it is today.
Today I hate being a single person with adult children. I just don't fit in with any particular group.

It's just DH and I today. We went out for a bit now home. He's watching golf and I am here and reading. I got started late on the Outlander series so I'm now reading Dragonfly in Amber. I've watched Season 1 and 2 and now on to the books.
I'm grilling steaks for dinner.

Dh has been sick since Thursday, otherwise we'd have gone to the festival of sail. I'm just trying to prepare for preschool, we go too a co-op preschool so I'm there with the kids 3 days a week. I love it but it makes every week so busy! I've enjoyed having done downtime this summer.

No plans here. We went most of the day yesterday at a good friend's house celebrating her 50th birthday and my dd's spent the night there so we had to go and pick them up. Then we went for a walk. The girls and dh have soccer practice at 6. So other than no school and dh being home today, it's much like a regular day.
