No "traditional" bbq or anything? We've had a crazy week....last week In laws were here which monopolized my DH time. Then he was in Charlotte Thurs- sun to work the big MXGP race (boys and I went for the day saturday...was awesome, may start a thread for pics of that) Then today he went to look at a house with a friend. So I'm home, doing nothing, annoyed with life (so sad when u realize who your friends are too...anyone else in the "there are so few at this point in my life" boat?
Anyway...I think I rambled and got off track a bit...

We spent the last two days clearing out my MIL's apartment because she went into a nursing home. I'm amazed we got her house cleared in a day, but only with a lot of help. That woman is a pack rat. I feel cheated out of my holiday weekend. I won't get another one until Thanksgiving. Today I need to run errands, do laundry, and start sorting through the huge pile of stuff that is now taking up half my garage.

At most we may go out for lunch. Our neighborhood doesn't do big block parties or barbecues and I would rather chew off my own arm than attempt to go near the beach today. I'm just loving having an extra day off!

I'm not doing anything either, but I'm okay with that. I am just enjoying the day off work.

Labor Day has never been a traditional BBQ weekend for me. It usually symbolizes the last week of camping where my family goes. They close up everything now or within the next couple of weeks. I rarely go anywhere now, so any holiday I'm usually home.

Just working on the house - bathroom remodeling & my daughter's wedding dress. We never have been to or had a labor day bbq. Not even growing up.

Nothing for me either. The refugee from the hurricane college boy just left to go back to school. All the power on campus is back on, but classes won't resume until Wednesday. He wants to get back so that they will be able to get sorted for the week-it was hard to have their first week of classes cut short by the storm. I think they all have plans to get together to watch the game tonight also. I am going to do a little cleaning, brush up resume to apply for yet one more job that I really want. I have a spot I need to clean out too-but it is a little like a garage and it is not a task I am particularly excited about starting, so I am putting it off. So over all, I am taking it easy today. A couple of friends invited me to go to the movies with them, but I am going to skip it today in favor of a little work, and a nap.

No one around here has big bbq's, they go camping. We don't camp so nothing for us. Yesterday my one daughter went with my parents down to a local place that was having a corn roast. Then stopped at our shop to see the new kittens we have. Big fun!

Nothing here. I don't think anyone I know really does anything for Labor day. It's nice to have the extra day off and I had hoped to use it to paint my spare bedroom. But unfortunately I can't move the furniture in there by myself and no one is available this weekend to help me. Maybe next weekend.

No cook out, no party, nothing. I think I've been to one cookout for Labor Day weekend in my life. My aunt has a pool and wants to do a cook out or a get together soon but right now, her house is in the middle of remodels and her "pool boy" died (a robotic pool cleaner). It's heated so maybe in October, we'll get together.
Our plans today consists of me doing uniform mending and DH setting a few posts for our fence.

No BBQ here. It's gray out. I worked out at 8am (fun Labor Day WOD!), showered and now I am cooking/baking and doing a puzzle...

We went to lunch yesterday with some friends at a new BBQ place that just opened. Just sent my dad home, he lives at the beach and didn't want to stay in case the hurricane hit. Now I'm going to hang my valances in the family room and help DH take done the scaffolding. My bowling league starts tomorrow so I have a bunch of stuff to print out and get ready for that.
It's just another day around here.

We had a gathering with friends last night, so it's a lazy day for us today. We'll graze on leftovers and lay around. Sounds good to me!

We were planning on mountain biking today, but all of the surrounding high country has had lots of rain and the trails will be a soggy mess. Of course, today, the sun is out and it's looking beautiful. But threats still not enough to dry things out. So, we decided we are going to buy a new puzzle to work on and play some board games today.

If we ever do labour day, it's usually camping. This year, we stayed home. DH is pickling some garlic and making jerky on the smoker so we are sticking close to home today. Nothing is open here anyway ( grocery stores etc) so I am getting kids school stuff organized and playing on my iPad. I may do some scrapping later too.

We actually have 4 days off this weekend. On day 1 we worked on a cover for our deck. Day 2 we drove to the coast. Day 3 and today we are back to working on our deck roof and expect to get half of it completely covered.

I spend Saturday and most of Sunday with my parents and sister. Come home yesterday evening so I could use today to do laundry, grocery shop, clean a bit and get ready for the work week ahead. This has never been a big (or even small) party holiday in my family. Just chilling out at home is our favorite thing. Binge watch tv/movies, read, scrap, whatever hobby gets some time....
Sorry you are feeling annoyed at life.

I worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I get today off.
I went to the store yesterday after work bought chicken wings, stuff for salad and a few other things and our neighbors and I had a "party on the patio" (That is what we call it when we hang out together on each other patios)
It had been a few weeks since we had time to spend together.
It was cold but we didn't care. We cooked our chicken wings with home made teriyaki sauce, salad and parogies. I finally came home about 1 am.
Today I am just going to hang out with the puppers at home and have a relaxing day.

Me, I actually love days off where I don't have to do anything. Last week was a hectic week, this week will be the same. I'm enjoying my "Married with Children" marathon I'm watching. Such a dumb show, but still so funny.
