I worked hard all weekend long.
Today the business is closed and I'm just in recovery mode.
I cleaned my bedroom. Sorted paperwork. Am still writing a to do list for the upcoming week.
It's going to be a killer of a month.
We're definitely not doing any bbq, block party (none here anyway), or traveling.
And no real friends to speak of to hang out with.

DH is working today so DD and I are just hanging around the house. I'm picking things up a bit, we've played with the pets and outside. I don't know that I've ever done anything special on Labor Day so it kind of feels like any other long weekend for me. I leave on a trip tomorrow so I do need to pack yet

All I have done is take my youngest to eat lunch. And take a small nap.

Day 2 of cleaning out the garage. I am determined to be able to park in the garage this Winter. My DH is a mechanic, and a complete pack rat and because his truck doesn't fit in there, clearing out the crap is very low on his priority list. I don't care though. It's getting done. He had so many tools, and duplicates and big red tool boxes and small toolboxes, and milk crates with more stuff. He pissed and moaned the whole time we were out there. Sorry buddy, clean up your crap. I can't stand it anymore. Still some work to do, but hoping to have it all arranged by the end of the week.
So, no BBQ here, but I got some stuff done. It's ok.

Nothing. I don't live near family any more. Growing up my family always had a get together. I've tried hosting a get together in the past but everyone I know has plans with their families. So I gave up. I'm single now and honestly, no one invites the single girl over for dinner. EVER. Usually this stuff doesn't wear on me as much as it is today. Today I hate being a single person with adult children. I just don't fit in with any particular group. If we were doing something, I'd invite you! We are just hanging! Thanks! I would love to just hang out. I need adult company!

Nothing here either. My PBS station has run a Downton Abbey marathon all weekend. Nothing but all six seasons and a few of the specials. DH has been sick all weekend so I've been spending all my time with the Crowley family

My life has become so boring. I spent the entire 3 days sewing commissions to get money for an upcoming week at the beach. We didn't even cook burgers on the grill.

We went to the lake today after doing very little all weekend. I would not have minded staying home though.

We were invited to a pool party at our dear friend's house, but but I was in too much pain to go this time. DH has been busy doing all kinds of work on the yard and deck all 3 days---too hot and tooo many bugs for me, but he LOVES the heat---UGH--I wish I did! At least the evenings are fun----playing with our doggie and watching movies. --I'm so thankful that their sweet faces take away SOME of my misery! pmm ......sorry---that's a bummer! Most everyone we know is married, BUT I have 2 single friends and we always invite them to come over for dinner, BBQs, etc. For pmm and all of you who mentioned lack of friends.......Have you considered looking into the "meet up" website? I've heard there are LOTS of fun events for everyone! Since my Dad moved, he misses his friends that had similar interests--- so he looked into "meet up" and has gone to lunches, the opera, museums, concerts, etc. with very eclectic groups of people---all age ranges!

Don't get me wrong, I have lots of friends. They are all married with small children. I do belong to multiple meet up groups but unfortunately none of them are very active. Well, except for one...they go to different restaurants 2-3 x per week for trivia. And that is the bulk of their activities. I went a couple of times but I don't really enjoy trivia and trying to have a side conversation is next to impossible.
