On the FAQ of the now defunct site:
What happened to the Message Boards? As of June 25, 2014 all Two Peas in a Bucket hosted Message Boards have been closed.
How about a big DUH! Here they had an opportunity to actually communicate what happened, at the very least apologize for the sudden nature of the shut down. But no.
They have missed every chance there was to do this in a classy manner. Too bad.

I'm hoping we'll find out from a Pea "insider" what went down, at some point. I can't help but think there are a few disgruntled ones out there right now.

Molove, it was an incredibly crappy thing to do. Dh is away on business and was flabbergasted when I told him how it all went down when he asked over the phone how my day was going.
I joined 2Peas when my youngest was 2 months old. He turns 13 in August. I formed relationships both IRL and online through 2peas - it would have been great to have been given some advance warning. I also spent my share of $$$ at the store at 2Peas back before I switched to digital scrapping.

I agreen Molove. I almost wonder if they let everyone go today, with no notice. So that IT/marketing never had a chance to let us know. We have done layoffs at my tech work and the people are usually let go without warning

I sent an email to support to ask about our purchased classes and Camille responded. So as of mid-afternoon she was still there.

I find it strange that they didn't even bother to come up with a vague explanation, instead just stating that the boards were permanently closed in their FAQ. So many people invested so much of their time and energy to those boards, that it seems only fair that the powers that be could have given us a little warning.

I think they probably loathed the boards, especially the red headed stepchildren of the NSBR. Part of me wonders if they got a little giddy about shutting it all down without warning...

All I can figure is they must be drowning in debt, just financially wiped out. I'm sure they are overwhelmed and stressed beyond belief. Stupid decisions get made in that state of mind all the time.
I don't think any of us expected this to last forever and ever, but damn....a little heads up wouldn't have killed anybody. The "too bad, so sad" attitude is revolting. I think they knew how many connections were made on this board and that's why they did it the way they did. Tail between their legs and all.
And come on, they weren't the savviest of business people, now were they? So many opportunities to improve things but didn't. Couldn't even figure out how to exit gracefully. I for one am extremely grateful for the real friendships I made at Peas over the years. Some of my closest girlfriends are Peas. Wonderful connections with people and a lot of laughs.

Who was the company that bought or invested heavily into 2Peas years ago that allowed them to really expand? Wasn't it Kaboose or something like that? Did this relationship go by the way side awhile ago? Just curious if Kaboose was still involved but still couldn't keep 2Peas financially afloat.....

I read an article on a scrappy blog that there was another company after Kaboose.

I agree, shitty move. I'm thinking they did it as one last "so there!" Did they think that there wasn't going to be a new board created within minutes, whereupon all the pea refugees would commence discussing just how shitty a move it was? I mean really, did they learn NOTHING from all those years they "ran" 2peas?

I wonder this, too. The iPhone app was just fixed yesterday, and there was a response on the Board when Peas were questioning it not working. Why even bother if they knew?

I don't know about you eddie~n~Harley but I'm tired of investing in message boards that are run by stores. We lost CK after years and now two peas. I'll never invest time building a home at any other privately owned site like two peas.

When did Two Peas ever do anything in a classy manner.
I am grateful that they offered their message board, and I was a member for about 12 years, but they never did seem to do anything in a proper businesslike manner. From garden-girl-gate, to the way they handled their stock and many of their orders, to putting the wrong board regulators on at various times. They ignored e-mail requests. They would delete threads that had no reason to be deleted, but let other people get away with anything. They didn't want anything to do with the boards, and it was obvious.
Other boards that have closed all gave their members advance notice. Two Peas should have done the same thing. It was the proper thing to do. But again, when did they ever do the proper thing.
