I feel I have contributed to many threads that people got upset or overheated on.
while I haven't personally called anyone a name or been nasty, I still participated on those threads and feel awful that people got hurt enough to leave. If I indirectly had anything to do with that, I'm sorry.
I think everyone needs to take a step back and realize we can have heated discussion without calling of names to one another. The personal attacks were the reason I didn't post much before. I hate to see anyone hurt like that.
Remember, there are real people on the other side of the screen with real feelings. People you (general you)once considered friends.
Not a hand slap, just my opinion.

it's a valid opinion...and spot on
i'm surprised at a lot of people here in the last week
not enough to bail but enough to reevaluate
and i'm sure that doesn't matter to many
but hey "wow, just wow!"

I have just let them blather on, spouting nonsense and acting like a herd of Chicken Little people. Full blown rampant paranoia. Please don't worry about anyone who might get so wound up they leave. I remember once posting about driving from Oklahoma into New Mexico and someone said that wasn't possible, that the entire state of Texas was between those 2 states. Hello, had that person never seen a US map? I let it go, realizing anyone that stupid wasn't worth my time correcting. Neither are the people still wound up about the election results. It's just 1 election out of many in their lifetime. They will either recover or spend the next 4 years pissing and moaning.

imsirius Before the political threads I've seen you personally attack people. I didn't understand why wildcatmom left, or rather announced her departure when she hasn't posted here in forever.

Discussion is a real talent...discussing extremely volatile topics (politics, religion, etc) even more so. We all know and feel how divisive this election became. I also would like to apologize for any conduct on my part that may have injured anyone here. I have endeavored to reason and explain, bring to light certain aspects of politics that I'd felt were being neglected, and for my part, I have sincerely tried doing so in a way that did not include any personal attacks but...I know I have not always been successful. I agree with imsirius completely, and there is a lot of "get over it, it's done" mentality but truthfully...this is going to take a lot of time and understanding. This election has been a very serious blow to half the nation voting population. It was always going to be that way but I do believe since the Democrats were truly not expecting this outcome, the shock has been overwhelming. Everyone just needs time. (((((hugs))))) ETA: I think Stephen Colbert said it very well: Actually, yeah.

I mostly lurk. But I am lurking less and less. I know one thing I was very unhappy when Obama was elected both times and not once did I come on the Pea board and say negative things about him or people who voted for him. This is not the inviting forum it once was.

It was always going to be that way but I do believe since the Democrats were truly not expecting this outcome, the shock has been overwhelming. would that have been exactly how it was in the last two elections? and i do not remember overwhelming, crippling grief - safe places - safety pins or protests with flag burnings - and actually - almost 50% of the nation didn't bother to vote or couldn't for whatever reason so only 25% of the nation should be upset gina

I read the political threads, but only post on rare occasion.
I am very disappointed by the election results, but after a few days, I was willing to keep an open mind and give Trump a chance.
However,
since he named Steve Bannon as a chief strategist, with his connections to Breitbart, loved by the White Nationalist and alt-right...
my open mind has ended.

I don't have a good memory for threads but if you think an apology is warranted I commend you for doing so. I wish more people would take some ownership of their wrong words/actions toward other Peas.

I missed the fallout over the weekend, but I did get an message from WCMom and I'm sad so many long time conservative Peas have left.
I've been on this board so many years I've changed a lot of the world/politcal/social views I used to have, and I cringe remembering the behavior I used to display way back in the day. I'm older now, I realize that not everyone thinks the same, I try to show respect as I expect it in return.
With the recent exodus of some of my favorite Peas I find less and less reasons to stick around too. Habit I guess. But I'm sad at the loss here. Truly, we have lost some wonderful Peas.

If the economy in this country improves, the middle class is lifted, the money is taken out of our elections so that the wealthy don't make all the rules, racism is not accepted, and our personal rights are not trampled, I will have no problem saying that I was wrong.
If trump becomes a president for all people and makes this a better country not only will I happily say I was wrong but I'll vote for him in four years.
I'm old enough to know that is pie in the sky. I don't believe for one moment that is the way this is going to go but I do hope it does.

so only 25% of the nation should be upset I agree with this point. My daughter wears a safety pin and she feels better. That's good enough for me. not enough to bail but enough to reevaluate I agree with this point. I'm done with political threads (at least I'm going to try really hard). I'm not Republican or Democrat. I have less interest in this site every day. To the OP, I must have a crappy memory. I'm trying to remember if you offended me and I don't.

Let's go, what are you talking about? Why are you looking for a fight? Smh Poor gal got something itchy in her knickers and she's been spoiling for a fight from all sorts of people for a while now. Maybe someone served her a side salad with low-class ranch dressing, idk. Then when called on to provide evidence of her accusations, it's just "what are you talking about?" Like she's two different people. Odd, to say the least. I used to find her remarks oddly endearing, like about coral workout gear looking cheap or ranch dressing being for low-class people, but I'm unsure why she's just taking aim at people who have never had a problem with her.

I don't know but I've never really interacted with Anna so I have no idea why. I have noticed testiness from her towards others though. I just don't want a big to do over an apology for God's sake.
