This evening I'm drinking a glass of Chardonnay and I'm making a toast to GrinningCat. You will be sorely missed.

I had a cider. Not sure she'd approve, but as she wasn't a Pea who worried too much about the approval of others that seems appropriate somehow To GrinningCat

Can someone help me with the taste of something? I want to get Creme de cacao and want to know what it tastes like. Is it a nice, smooth chocolate flavour? I don't want to buy something I am not going to like. Anyone know?

They usually have a large selection of all sorts of things.

I hadn't thought about a small bottle of it, but that might be perfect to try. I don't like coffee flavoured anything other than *coffee* so that limits what I can drink. Having a little at night sounds quite nice. I mean it's chocolate. Chocolate is always good! Thank you!

I seriously just love this place...and I'm grateful I started drinking before I opened this crazy thread. Cheers to the insanity we call home- were toasting with champagne with a tiny scoop of Riesling poached pear sorbet because the sorbet alone was amazing, I figure everything is better with bubbly...and it's Thursday.

grinningcat, this gin and club soda with a twist of lime is raised in your honor. We should not have lost you this soon. It's totally unfair for so many reasons.

I used to get either that or Creme de menthe on my icecream at restaurants as a kid. Yes you read that right as a kid I was served liquor on icecream and it was good. And No one batted an eye - they were too busy eating their icecream too. Dang I miss the circleville inn.

I couldn't raise my glass to Grinningcat last night because I got home too late, but I'll be opening a bottle of wine (a good one, nothing cheap, she wouldn't like that) in her honor tonight.

We've moved on. We need to know what you'll be drinking if you want to continue to participate here. Ok so now we need a what's the cocktail thread to go along with the dinner thread? BTW I'm drinking Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey whisky. honey whisky + ginger ale = flapjack a favorite at our work group get-togethers
I agree! I sip on tequila but chase it with sips of pickle juice. Now THAT is an awesome mixture.
I have become a tequila sipper myself. Now I have to try it with a chaser of pickle juice, apparently. I'll try (nearly) anything once... At first I thought EWWW but then came to my senses - after all, tequila with lime isn't THAT far off from tequila with pickle

I'm not much of a hard liquor gal, but have enjoyed a margarita or 2 in previous years. Now, I'm all about the wine! It's Friday, and to celebrate, I'll open a bottle of wine and toast grinningcat. "To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die"
