This bears repeating, especially as I wouldn't want anyone equating Christianity or being a Christian with any of the actions, words or platform of Donald Trump. did you read the article by Jim Garlow? it doesn't sound like it.
His 'platform' - that of the repubs certainly has Christianity covered. the dem's does not even come close.

I'll bite. Who is Jim Garlow? And why should I believe his words about Trump over the words (and actions) that Trump himself puts out there? (Edited to fix a grammar error)

At what point did I say I had a problem with the cast? No where. I have a problem with the audience members who decided their right to act like boorish adolescents was more important that allowing fellow audience members the ability to enjoy the show they paid for with the same hard earned money as everyone else. And learn from it what they will. Political or otherwise. This overriding, overarching behavior of "we're gonna get 'em! It's our turn!" is becoming frightening. There is a fraction, a *fraction* of idiots out there who are everything you are so afraid of. The rest of us are just trying to survive, just like you. At this point, I'm so uncomfortable in this community that I'm afraid its about to make the decision to join the ranks of other long-time peas and walk away. There is no place for me here. No room for a difference of opinion. I'm not allowed to have a separate opinion going by the bulk of the words written on the posts in this community. You might as well add a "Conservatives not welcome here...enter at your own risk. Christians? Don't even bother." on the banner area. Later. Really? This is the very thing conservatives complain about on college campuses, when liberal college students supposedly need "safe spaces" because they can't stand to have their beliefs challenged. It's so ironic that you elected a candidate who is supposedly refreshing in his candor, unafraid to tell you like it is, un-PC, but the minute someone tells YOU like they think it is, you want to take your toys and go home. You know who feels unwelcome? The teenage illegal alien at my daughter's school who was brought here as an infant and knows no one in her native country, but now must fear deportation back to that country. Also the Muslim children at my school who are worried that they will be taken to an internment camp. My gay friends who are worried that their marriages will be invalidated and their spousal rights revoked. The people of color in our country who are continually shown that their lives don't really matter as much as everyone else's, and who are derided and demeaned for virtually every form of peaceful protest they take. White Christian conservatives? Please. You have a red carpet a mile wide laid out for you. You worship as you please in complete freedom and without fear, as you should. There is no place in this country where you are unwelcome or unsafe, or where you do not enjoy the full and complete benefits of citizenship. All others are asking for is the same benefit for everyone, and somehow that is so offensive to you that you feel "unwelcome." SMDH. have you been living under a rock? ignoring the news? of course, a lot of things don't hit the news (certainly not 90% of it). there's way too much to put on the news. Christians all around the country being sued. Tell the bakery people how good they have it. the photographer, floral store owner X tons. Liberty Alliance (I think it's called) has a HUGE binder packed to the hilt with 6 cases on each page in it of Christians being harassed, sued, school kids being told they can't pray at lunch, teachers making jokes about them... people losing their jobs because they believe in God and the Bible and don't believe in killing babies... a minister in KY (I think) has been required to submit copies of his sermons, sermon notes (and I don't remember what all). And the IRS continues to deny certain people their non profit tax exemptions. Nothing has changed there. Some who were still waiting when the hearings were going on, are still waiting.
I did hear this past week that the guy who filed the case against the bakery in OR lost his bid for re-election.
and here's a few HC quotes -
“I would like to see Planned Parenthood even get more funding.” (our tax dollars)
“Deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs, and structural biases have to be changed.”
“The unborn person doesn’t have Constitutional rights.”
who is it that doesn't support our constitution? dems

Oh dear. Did a public accommodation merchant (not a private club, which has different rules) have to abide by the rules of public commerce? We already had the discussion in the 60's. You cannot decide who to serve based on anything other than health or safety reasons. You can't choose not to serve the blacks at the lunch counter or the gay couple requesting a product or service you provide to others. You, as a merchant, can decide what's on the menu, not who gets to sit at the table. As far as the PP/abortion issue, no person, born or unborn, can use another person's organs or blood w/o that person's continued permission. So, HC is right, the unborn or born have no Constitutional rights to use the organs of another person without that person's continued permission.

Many people have no need to take anything up with an entity that they don't believe in. And that is their constitutional right. As is the freedom to make a direct and polite statement to the homophobic, misogynistic future VP. and it's the constitutional right of Christians to believe in God and 'take things up with Him' and follow Him and His words.
but, if you're questioning what He says, then you need to take it up with Him.
and as I already posted... the dems should just keep it up. It caused a major dem upheaval in the election recently.

I have a couple of genuine questions. 1. Where have kids been told they cannot pray in school? 2. How in the world do you propose to stop pregnancies while at the same time defunding Planned Parenthood? I'm not talking about HC quotes or anything else about HC. She's not a topic anymore. She lost. We have Trump. So I'm still looking for reasons to believe Trump and I believe in the same things.

WTF are you talking about? Seriously? You wrote, "I think it's ridiculous that Trump or anyone who supports him would be calling this action inappropriate, when Trump himself has stood in public venues & insulted people so often." in response to my comment about Eric Trump/wife being hassled on the street. Although unaffiliated, I pointed out the weakness in your argument - Trump supporters cannot complain when someone else does the same things as the candidate they support - with an example applying your logic. You chose to reply with sarcasm, condescension, & now feigning ignorance. it's ok for the left to do those things... not for the repubs tho.

The big hole which you apparently don't see is that your argument requires me to acknowledge that Hillary lies and cheats - something that is a matter of opinion. Trump's insults to all and sundry are right out on video for everyone to see, no opinion needed. c. I don't need to feign anything - your last post to me made no sense. no, it's a matter of her testimony under oath vs her mega many times she said something different - and it's on tape. Her testimony is most likely also on tape. they don't agree in numerous areas according to the FBI director.

I've had several people I know in real life who have insisted that Trump is a God-fearing Christian who believes in the same things that I believe in. They twist and turn words and bring up HRC/democrats all the time. Do you really, honestly, truly support Donald Trump and all that he says?

Agreed - it's not OK ANYWHERE. Yet how many condemned and got the vapors over the boos that Michelle or Barack have endured for the past 8 years? And again, for the cast, it was COMPLETELY professional to discuss their lives and art during the curtain call. That's what the curtain call is for. And Pence is the VP-Elect who views LGBT lives as undeserving of marriage to the one person that they love. and everyone should agree with you?
take it up with God.
You don't agree with gay marriage? Then don't marry someone of the same gender. Easy.

You don't agree with gay marriage? Then don't marry someone of the same gender. Easy. Mwah!!! They never seem to understand that the problem so many have w/them is that it's never enough that THEY follow the dictates of their particular beliefs, it's that THE REST OF US have to abide by them as well. Let us all be able to follow our own consciences and the shared laws we enact in this democracy, and we'd have no issues w/each other. But w/the right-wing it's a case of "I must follow the Bible - and so must the REST OF THE COUNTRY!"
