Here's my day 6 thus far- it's a no-photo, just journaling layout- and I'd love any suggestions for finishing it up (aside from adding in the journaling ! ) because it still appears unfinished to me! Thanks!

I need to give more time to my album over the weekend. Work has been so busy I've been struggling to do anything during the week. Me, too. But I don't even have the excuse of work. Tomorrow I'm either going to work on my DD or wrangle the dogs for a photo with Santa. I don't think I'll have the energy to do both.

Thanks! Looks like it has everything it needs: nice colour combo, some glitter, space for journaling. The only thing I might suggest is something to tie in with your story of the day For example, if you went shopping, some flying dollar signs; if you wrapped gifts, some swirls to represent ribbon... Would love to see the finished page!

I'm still taking photos for my DD, that I will put together in January.
I took a family photo in Santa hats. And our elf came again.

My progress is close to zero. I've just been surprise-promoted and the transition period has come with a heavy workload. My DD has taken a step back. I've somehow managed to keep up with things via Instagram so I might just order an IG photo book instead if things continue to be busy in January-February instead of putting it off. It's all for a good cause though! I hope everyone is having fun with their album.

Congratulations sleepingbooty! I am still working on gift albums, so all I have is pictures. I'm not doing daily though, so the stuff I want in my album hasn't really even happened yet. I'm looking forward to working on the album soon!

I just wanted to jump in and say I'm still taking photos. It's funny, I was lamenting to myself that I haven't been able to find elf themed stickers, and this is the first year I have an elf. Well, guess what? Perhaps I should actually look at my DD stash more closely. I have a few elf stickers on a holiday sticker sheet. Just needed to look. Crisis averted.

Thank you for the kind words, icequeen iheartpaper anniefb It was a total surprise but I'm so giddy! The guilt over not continuing DD has eaten a little at me. Especially when I stop by in here. But I've reminded myself that as long as December is recorded and easy to access, I will have done what I intended to do. Even if it doesn't have the fun cards I'd set aside and gold foil accents, it will still be my December 2016 in physical format. I'm really thankful I can still keep up with it albeit in a far less scrappy way and relying heavily on my Instagram. It's not very glamorous but it's still my December. Have any of you done a Christmas photo booth session with friends or family yet? If not, I highly encourage it! I just did it with my colleagues and it was so much fun. The accessories are coming with me to a friends' Christmas dinner this weekend and family Christmas days next week. Highly recommend keeping it super simple. Just let people have fun with it. If there's no white backdrop for them to pose in front of, don't sweat it: it's actually a true memory maker if you let them exchange their accessories while they sip from their champagne and just move around the room making silly faces to each other. As long as you play active photographer for ten minutes or so, you will have some really funny moments recorded. Including a "Ho ho ho" butt shot. There will always be a person who will feel the need to put all the accessories to their bottom cheeks. Quality of the Ginger Ray set I bought on sale last January is great and recommended for anyone in the UK:

I'm ok until day 10. I've taken photos but haven't had a chance to sit and get stuff put together. Mt fil was brought into the hospital due to acute renal failure and while they tried dialysis its not working and he has now refused treatment. They also found a mass in his bladder which they won't biopsy for 4 weeks, we are assuming cancer. He won'the last that long. This is not a surprise because he is a stubborn man who hasn't always been the easiest to be around. So my DD is kind of paused for now while we spend time with my DH's very dysfunctional family. Trying really hard to find some positives or little joys to put in my album but it's hard to ignore reality.

We are so programmed to expect only happy experiences this month, that it makes "reality" just that much more difficult to take. If looking for glimmers of goodness to photograph &/or journal gives you peace and escape, then continue on with your DD. If this becomes just one more task that is dragging at you, then let it go. You can always use your pretty supplies next year...

Thanks ❤ this isn't my first rodeo with a funeral during my DD. 2 years ago we went through this with my Grandma's passing. The harder thing is that DH family is very difficult and my Grandma's all pulled together to support each other.

I'm trying to find inspiration for using 5x7 photos in a 6x8 album. I've been printing at home and was planning to order my full page photos after. But, now I'm thinking about trying traditional layouts on a 6x8 background. If anyone has seen others do this, I'd love it if you could link me up. Thanks in advance.

"The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men Gang aft agley"
I was all set next week with Tuesday through Friday all to myself. I am off work, kids are still in school, plenty of time to run, do lots of crafty things, wrap presents, last minute shop, bake etc etc but my dad has been taken ill and is in hospital so I am off to Scotland instead. Glad to be seeing my family but sad that yet again I will probably fail at this project.

Hey ojyma , you know I've been LOVING how your pages have been coming out! You have a style that really speaks to me (and a lot of people). It's got the hipness/coolness of a Kelly Purkey layout but using more products and being "prettier." I hope that makes sense! Anyways, I have a dilemma and since you've been posting in this thread, I thought I would ask you here. What would you do if you have a 9x12 spread with 2 4x6 pockets but only one 4x6 photo? So I'm left with a blank 4x6 pocket. I don't have any premade 4x6 filler (not journal) cards that would work, so I wanted to make my own filler card. i want it to be "cool" but not "frilly." Has this ever happened to you? What would YOU do?

Has this ever happened to you? What would YOU do? Thanks so much! You are so kind! I'm glad you are loving my pages. What about a plain white 4x6 card and some stamps to make it into a journaling spot or just a way to use your stamps. I've done this in my DD when none of the cards from the kits seemed like a good fit. I just looked through my albums to see what else I might have done and I found a card where I just printed in large text the name of the pool my son and I were at and changed the color on each letter so that it was a good graphic hit on the page. In my current (Aug-Dec) album I've been using the rubber words from SC as a floating element so it takes the front and back, if you are struggling to fill pockets that's an easy way to take up the pocket on both sides and reduce the total number of things you need. Large ampersands work well, big circles or even just a sequin/wood veneer mix might be fun. Let me know what you decide!

Any updates on DD progress from anyone?
I've completed through Dec. 7 in my TN and then I stalled out. Hope to get back to it today.

I always leave journaling and embellishing until the end. Photos are in up to the teens, but I stalled around the 20th when Christmas prep took over. The goal today/tomorrow is to edit + add journalling to my 6x8's and get those ordered (my printer only does up to a 5x7). Then, I'll focus on printing the rest of my 4x6 and 3x4's at home. I'm hoping to have this all wrapped up by the end of the year. I also totally understand why people stop at Day 25. I may close out the album with our NYE activities, but I'm ready to put this thing to bed when I take down the tree and decorations next week.

Last night I began to get pictures ready to print. I'm really excited to get my December Documented started, but the quantity of pictures to sort through is a bit daunting.
I started putting multiple pictures on a 4x6 of my favorites, but only got so far. DD19 and I are going to move the dslr pictures to the computer so I can start going through those. I think I'll order from Costco so I can move forward.
I can't wait to begin my album!

I did days 1-5 in pockets at home. I'm doing a 6x8 Snap album. I'm away until December 30, so I decided done is better and did 6-12 in the Project Life app yesterday. I'll print them when I get home and add my glittery numbers and maybe the odd embellishment.

Ladies, what a strange thing December documenting has been for me so far. As I've explained earlier in this thread, I lost a lot of my expected free time due to a change at work so I turned my DD album into digital photo book format. While I had a lot of (stressful) fun making an album to give away as a present, I didn't miss the crafty bit when it came to documenting for myself. How very odd! I'm still surprised how satisfied (and, actually, positively happy) I am with my photo book so far. It's not even hybrid scrapping. It's just a proper photo book with Blurb software. Zero embellishments. What's happening to me?

I've gotten to day 20 and will hopefully to finish in the next couple of days. I ended up with some double pagers and some that are single...lots of photos though. I'm finding that I'm scrapeing the bits and pieces of my DD kit to try and stretch it. I only purchased the AE main kit and it's going to be close. I knew the kit was a bit smaller but didn't expect this. Some of the next few pages will definitely be simpler because of less photos and honestly Christmas Eve and Christmas Day kind of sucked. Lots of in laws at my house...lots of tension and heavy emotional stuff with my fil dying. DH and I were either close to tears or ready to snap at each other. NOT the Christmas I had in mind that's for sure.
