I know there is a Dec Daily kit watch thread, now that Thanksgiving is over, it seems time to start a thread on progress on your Dec Daily album.
What have you done? Ordered a kit? Bought new supplies? Pulled supplies out of your holiday stash? Chosen an album? Made foundation pages? Put together a list of ideas for photos? Pinned inspiration? Made a decision to do one?
During the year I bought an old Heidi Swapp Document December kit/album at Michael's on clearance. I just opened it, and I am not sure if I like it. It's a ring binder album, which is nice, but the pages are all different cuts and sizes. It seems to be used without page protectors, which I have not done in the past. I am not sure if I should go for that, or try to find some page protectors that fit.
My goal: I would like to make foundation pages and just go with them and get the album DONE. I like the idea of making all the foundation pages ahead of time, but not having to use them in order by not adhering the date numbers for a particular page until the photo is chosen.
Now for the confession: I have completely finished Dec Daily for 2011 and 2013. In progress, will all photos printed and notes for journaling are 2009, 2014 and 2015. Each is in a storage box with all the materials and photos together. No excuse for why they aren't done.

I'm glad you started this thread, sophikins. I think I'll need the ongoing encouragement of my fellow DD-ers. I bought the Gossamer Blue kit and will be doing mine in a traveler's notebook. In addition to the kit materials, I've weeded through my stash and added some items that will work with the kit. I will also admit to placing an order for a few additional items. I've put together a list of ideas for photos and, on the same piece of notebook paper, numbered 1 through 31 and slotted in the events that scheduled for a specific date. Just something to keep me on track through the month. Before the first, I plan to have my cover and first page done. I would really like to keep up with daily scrapping throughout the month. Can't wait to hear what others will be doing with their DD.

My only plan so far is to do a December Documented this year. DD19 goes back to college tomorrow and I will have more time to think/plan after that. Thanks for starting this thread! The 30 Days of Thankful chat and prompts have been very helpful at keeping me motivated. I love seeing what everyone else is doing.

I bought Ali’s gold dot album and both kits from Kelly Purkey + Brandi’s kit from Feed Your Craft. Those combined with my stash and all the freaking stamps in the world have me feeling pretty dang good about my album. I actually set up “kits” for my daughter’s who are 5 + 7 this year, because they like to work on theirs while I do mine. They don’t use photos; just stamp/glue all the pretty things. I’m incorporating more “mini album” type pages, like the fold out pages into my album, so I prepped some of those and some of the things I wanted cut out with my Cameo. Otherwise, I have not “prepped”. I plan to start with Thanksgiving again this year because I took so many photos and don’t want to put them into my PL… I did this last year and loved it because after Thanksgiving we start doing all the Christmas things. This is my 7th year doing December Daily and I fully intend to stay caught up on it and PL. It drives me bonkers to be “behind”, so I have some Sunday DD dates with my BFF to help us both stay motivated and caught up. Have fun everyone!

I am using pieces from Feed Your Craft + North of December + papers from Felicity Jane + ended up with with Ali's Paislee Press kit . I have some pieces from last years Ali main, so I will probably throw some of that in.
We are still in Las Vegas from Thanksgiving but as soon as we get home, I am going to get to work. Normally I have started by now, but FJ took so long to ship that I haven't had time yet to get started.
While I dislike having to use so many kits - I didnt feel like any one single kit was spectacular enough to use on its own. I liked only pieces of each kit this year.

I bought Ali's gold dot album and her main kit. I also feel like I am pulling a lot from my stash this year as well as making my own stuff. I tried using some of the silkscreens the other day but it was mostly a fail.

Thank you so much for starting this thread. I absolutely love doing DD! As I have posted somewhere else, I got an early start on my photos and album. Last week I helped my daughter decorate her home and then did mine. We also Christmas shopped last week. I also got some photos at Thanksgiving going through Black Friday ads. So I've completed the first few pages and have more photos printed. I'm mainly using a couple of older MME lines.

I'm still making my way through the AE DD class, but watching YT videos in the meantime of completed albums for inspiration and motivation. I bought two mini kits, using a Simple Stories album I found on clearance last spring and pulled heavily from my stash. I would like to get my foundation pages in better shape but I don't see that happening between now and the start of the month.

I'm using Pinkfresh Christmas Wishes as my album foundation this year (leftovers from last year) plus other things from my stash. I have done my title page, intentions and set up most of my foundation pages plus a template for my journaling cards (I type mine because I don't like my handwriting).
Want to do some more special features/pieces but am feeling pretty pleased I've got the bones of the album organised so I just need to take photos and do my journaling each day.

I'm using Ali's 4x6 December Daily album and I bought the MME Sugar Plum cards and enamel dots. Everything else I will pull from my stash and will probably make up a kit this week. I start my album on the 1st but don't like to pre-plan or prepare any foundation pages, I just wing it each day based on what I have photos or stories of.
This is one of my favourite projects for the year (and the only one I complete in a timely manner) so I'm looking forward to getting started.

Love this thread!
I have a 2 gallon ziplock bag that I've been making my own kit in.
I have a 6x6 winter/Christmas paper pad. (I'm scrapping 8x8, and will use cs backgrounds)
I have a bunch of miscellaneous sequins.
I stamped and die cutted all of my Christmas & winter images from my stash a month ago, so that when I'm working on my album, it is just like pulling premade ephemera.
I bought Jolees Christmas dimensional stickers that I liked.
I have an 8x8 album. I'm not sure it will be big enough. If it isn't, I'll buy a 3 ring 8x8 album.
I still need cardstock, unless I just pull kraft from my stash.
I still need enamel dots.
And Thickers. Pretty sure I need them too.
I've taken two "event" photos so far that will be included in my album. One set are for a Thanksgiving parade. And the other is our traditional Thanksgiving night family photo.

I was not going to do a DD this year. I am doing a journal and collage daily.
All my supplies are pulled out. I have created a few foundation pages. I bought a few supplies for things I needed.
I have already started journaling some pages since my holidays begin the day after Thanksgiving.

I was really hoping to finish my 2015 album before December started Oops. I'm getting there though! For 2016 I have a bunch of kits/bits and pieces and will just throw it all together in my stash and use whatever fits the mood. I haven't prepped anything (never do), but I do have a photo printer this year, so I might be able to print photos as I go along, which should help!

Just finished my 30 days of thankful book, and I enjoyed doing it, but not quite ready for another project like that. Maybe next year I will do my gratitude journal in October (Canadian Thanksgiving month), and then attempt a similar informal grab, glue & go small album in December 2017.
I will not be doing a DD this December. I have too many to-do lists for the month already. But I am thinking I may use the Get It Scrapped "Your December Story" framework for when I get around to scrapping our holiday experiences. I am watching the videos and printing off the prompts for each week's lesson as it is posted. It focusses more on the overall story and less on the idea of documenting each day.
Have fun, Ladies!

I may change my approach to Dec Daily this year by not being confined to the exact dates.
One daughter has already gone tree chopping, and I like the idea of having a Thanksgiving photo. These are both pre-December. Also, since I include my 3 daughters (they are in their 20's) in my Dec Daily there are some days with multiple events, like on the weekend, and some boring mid-week days with nothing going on. So my plan is going to be 25 pages to Christmas, in chronologic order, but not limited to specific dates.

I don't do foundation pages, I like to do my album with some distance, not in real time. I document and take photos, but then wait a bit to scrap it all.
I just finished DD 2015 in October, so I'm fresh from thinking about what I want to do this year. I'll use that momentum to help me think about stories and products that help tell those stories.
Finally, I like to do the pages later because I like to draw inspiration from Ali and others, so I'm more of a spectator through December, and more of a participant later.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone here is doing!
edit: meant to add that I tried doing foundation pages in 2011 and that book is still sitting unfinished. Not sure why it didn't work for me, but I've found it more fun to create it all after Christmas.

I finished my 30 days of thankful album earlier today so tonight I'm pulling together the goodies for December Documented. I chose October Afternoons Make it Merry, Under the Tree, Eggnog and Holiday Style. Plus Authentic Retro Christmas. I threw in some Jillibean, K and Co and Bella Blvd Christmas stickers. Twine, paper clips, washi, etc. I need to collect a few more thickers, also.
I also grabbed a box of goodies to sort through if I needed something extra, but I doubt that will be necessary.
I really wish I could use one of those divided Iris trays that everyone uses on YouTube, but for now I will hunt down an alternative to sort my goodies in.
There is more than enough here, so my goal is to not only complete the December Documented with these supplies, but do a couple of layouts in my sisters Christmas album, each of her three kids albums and each of my three kids albums.
I may get behind at first because I'm working on five albums that are Christmas gifts for my sister, her three kids and my mom. I've been slacking on this!
I'm really excited to be doing an album this year!

Our elf came! Our elf came!! I took a photo of our elf bringing hot chocolate & candy canes, and a photo of the boy with the turkey wishbone. Both are going in the DD.

I bought Ali's grey merry album and then plan to pull from my stash. I may order a digital mini kit, but haven't decided.
I need to find a few lists of things to include on days that nothing is going on...I'm sure there are plenty of lists out there. I tend to stall when there isn't anything I can easily think of as photo worthy. I think having a list to fill in with will help me keep my momentum going.

I bought Ali's main kit and gold dot album. I also have a ton of Christmas stash and stamps (October Afternoon, Carta Bella, & MME). I would say I have about half of my foundation pages set up. I keep things loose (don't adhere numbers) until I know for sure what the story for the day will be. I also have pre-scrapped a couple days/stories that I know I want to tell. For example, I have scrapped our Christmas playlist and movie list (printed out movie posters and put them in a 2x2 page protector). I am also going to pre-scrap some of our favorite ornaments and maybe work on scrapping our Christmas cards today. Just a few things to get a jump on the project.

So far, I have my intentions page done...and thats about it.
I want to make a cover page tomorrow, but other than that, I have decided to just wing it. This makes me nervous - but also excited.

Can I play if I only do a few inserts in my PL album (and not a separate album), no intentions and don't care much about the whole "daily" part of the project? Pretty please? Also, it's 15 minutes past midnight over here which means... IT'S OFFICIALLY DECEMBER THE FIRST! Yay! Happy December, Refupeas!

Sharing my stashed DD mini kit I'll be using this year. I might switch a few things up or add as I go but this is definitely the basis: - a few 3x4 filler cards selected from recent Studio Calico Documenter kits in white, gold foil and dark grey/black - my Midori TN passport size to keep notes and jot little things down during the month to look back at when scrapping - a 4x6 sheet of small sentiment stickers - a few gold foil die-cuts - chipboard star stickers (gold foil and gold glitter) - patch Missing in photo action are the two Kelly Purkey Christmas stamp sets. But you get the gist. I just want to reach out to those who feel intimidated by doing DD for one reason or another. You don't need a separate album, a cushy budget, a lot of pictures, a big stash to choose from (and children or grandchildren, a spouse, a full social calendar, etc.) to be able to join and do your own recipe of DD. And the result of the combination of your style, product at your disposition, photos and memories will not be lesser because you're using/have less. Join us! Attachments:
