I'll start out by saying I'm not watching. I can't. I just can't. The part where my President and his family walk away and board a helicopter leaving DT standing at the steps of the Capitol will be too much for me to handle. I know I have to accept he's now the president and I will, it doesn't mean I have to watch the passing of power.
Now that that's out of the way, I do wonder who will be performing. Certainly not Elton John. Who will read the poem that is always so inspiring. Maybe Ted Nugent can sing the first dance song while grabbing his crotch. Perhaps Chachi can read the inaugural poem. It will be interesting to see who will agree to participate.
And one final thought, which I will preface with I'm not usually vindictive nor do I wish harm on anyone, but I hope it's windy as hell cause I'd love to see what it does to the orange one's hair.

Maybe instead of a poem, Scott Adams can hold up a special Dilbert commissioned for the occasion and read it to us.

i'm thinking when his hand touches the Bible it will blow up in his face. I don't normally watch inaugurations, but I'm for sure missing this one. I get a sick feeling in my stomach thinking about it.

It is incredibly boring watching it live no matter who wins. I'll probably record and fast forward through many parts like I would with any inauguration.

about the hair. I'm not watching, but then I never do. I just catch the highlights on the news. Yes you're right, should be fun to watch the hair! I'm going to watch because there will be protests going on so I want to see how that is covered. I want to see Melania's coat choice. I want to see if Trump walks down the street. I watch every year because I'm off from work, but it's bitter cold so I never attend. I figure he'll find some country star to perform.

I don't think I've ever watched an inauguration. I find all that pomp and circumstance unnecessary and it actually kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth (government officials being treated like rock stars at the expense of taxpayers).
I did see the other day where someone mentioned volunteering in your community on inauguration day - I think I might try and find some way to do that.

I will preface this by saying that I NEVER comment on political posts...ever. I am just not politically inclined or knowledgeable enough to hold my own in a conversation. I have been thinking a lot about the Trump White House, though. Not so much the political aspect (well, not at ALL the political aspect, actually), but the more family oriented activities. Like the White House Halloween, the Military Family Christmas Event, the Easter Egg Roll and stuff like that. I can't help but picture the Easter Egg Hunt in Steel Magnolias where little Jack smacks Ouiser in the face. It's going to happen, I just know it is . That is all...that's the extent of anything I can add to a political post .

Welp... I actually applied for tickets for the inauguration. I'll find out the beginning of Jan if my congressman has any available for me or not. I don't really care about Trump either way but going to an inauguration is on my bucket list so I'm going to go for it.
Also, Trump looks good in that hair on the lower right. I don't think he'll change because he's stubborn AF, but it looks nice on him.

I won't be watching. I'm sure the highlights will be on the news. It's a Friday, so I'll be working as usual. In a school that is filled with "Mexicans" - some who are here legally, some not. We even have a few Muslim students. So I'll spend my day preparing them for the future because if we truly want to keep America great, they'll need to have a good education.

I had planned on going and watching the parade but now I think that renting our place out on AirBNB for an exorbitant amount of Trump supporter money seems like a really good idea

The bottom right one looks vaguely like William Shatner's hair, to me... (that's just one of the many random things that go thru my head all.day.long, lol)

Is there a designated survivor for the inauguration or Just for the state of the union?

I usually watch because I'm incredibly proud to live in a country where we have a smooth transition of power, but this time.....I may just wait for the highlights. Which makes me sad...

No I won't be watching the inauguration.
What I would like to do as the Obama's move out of The White House I would like to run and gather up all the furnishings and hide them until there is a new president. All the furnishings in The White House have a history that I don't think the Trump's will appreciate and therefore will not be a fitting stewart.
As to Trump's hair. A while back I was watching a show on volcanoes. There was this lava field with no vegetation and all of sudden this puff of yellow strands blew by. My first thought OMG that's Trump's hair. You know when his hair blows in the wind. That's what it looked like. What it is called is Pele's hair. It's small droplets of lava thrown in the air during an eruption. The droplets are caught by the wind, cooled and stretched into find yellowish strands. Just like Trump's hair.

"I did this to prove to Donald Trump that he really does need a new haircut and color," Fris tells Mashable. "He has many options, so I'm hoping he'll do this for his fans and for those who see him as the future president." I get a Shatner/Costner vibe from it so who knows.

He doesn't even want to stay there cause he thinks his place at Trump Tower is better. I wonder how they will redecorate? Gold inlay over the Red and Blue rooms? I can't fathom his portrait hanging next to the likes of Lincoln, Washington, Kennedy and President Obama.

Not according to the Trump haters on FB When AKC asked what dog the new president should have it was filled with - he doesn't deserve a dog, he shouldn't have a dog, his family doesn't deserve a dog, etc

I bought plane tix for me & the kids the day after the election. We plan on meeting my sister in DC. She's working that day (Smithsonian). I'll report back on exploding bibles and fly away comb overs but this Floridian is hoping it is not windy or bitterly cold..not sure if I can handle cold weather anymore after all these years in FL.

You're right. Pity the poor pup. Maybe a mountain lion like Barron was sitting in in that family portrait.
