I will not watch. But except for 2008, I never have. But I really do not want to watch this one.
I will be at work. Attending a diversity course on bystander training. Then I will come home and donate to some causes that our president-elect does not agree with.

I never watch the inauguration no matter who wins. I just don't care about these kinds of ceremonies and I think we waste way too much money on them.

^^^ I was coming here to post the very same thing! micheley , do you have any idea if those hairstyles are from particular people? The bottom right one looks vaguely like William Shatner's hair, to me... (that's just one of the many random things that go thru my head all.day.long, lol) I thought the same thing when I saw it. Perhaps if Alec Baldwin ever leaves the impersonation of DT business, William Shatner can step in. Save

I always watch, no matter what party wins. I absolutely refuse to watch this one. I believe nothing that comes from his mouth so his oath means nothing to me.

My high school daughter will be singing with her Madrigal group at the inauguration. She's pretty horrified by it (trip was booked months ago). I'm hoping she can find some good in the day. I've been making payments on this trip for months.

www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/11/donald-trump-inauguration-million-dollar-donor-rewardsThey are charging up to $1million dollars to attend, for a cool million you get an intimate policy discussion..... On Tuesday, the Presidential Inauguration Committee finalized the tiered benefits packages that it uses during every presidential swearing-in to entice donors, who will pay as little as $25,000 for V.I.P. entry to official inaugural events, up to $1 million or more for the opportunity to enjoy an “intimate policy discussion” over dinner with Trump Cabinet appointees like failed judicial nominee Jeff Sessions. I will not be watching but will be at the Rally on the 21st.

No I won't be watching the inauguration. What I would like to do as the Obama's move out of The White House I would like to run and gather up all the furnishings and hide them until there is a new president. All the furnishings in The White House have a history that I don't think the Trump's will appreciate and therefore will not be a fitting stewart. . YES!!!! I think about this as well. He doesn't even want to stay there cause he thinks his place at Trump Tower is better. I wonder how they will redecorate? Gold inlay over the Red and Blue rooms? I can't fathom his portrait hanging next to the likes of Lincoln, Washington, Kennedy and President Obama. I'm picturing SO.MUCH.GOLD in the White House. I don't think I'll be able to stomach much of the festivities, but I'll definitely watch as the Obamas leave. And I know I'll be a weepy mess. 😥

maybe people have always had to pay to attend the inaugural festivities, but reading that the more you pay, the better your chances of meeting and/or talking to him / his cabinet members? That just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
It does at least say that any excess money will go to charity, but somehow I doubt there will be much left over.

A while back I was watching a show on volcanoes. There was this lava field with no vegetation and all of sudden this puff of yellow strands blew by. My first thought OMG that's Trump's hair. You know when his hair blows in the wind. That's what it looked like. What it is called is Pele's hair. It's small droplets of lava thrown in the air during an eruption. The droplets are caught by the wind, cooled and stretched into find yellowish strands. Just like Trump's hair. I'm totally envisioning the White House getting a Liberace's House of Crap makeover.

Welp... I actually applied for tickets for the inauguration. I'll find out the beginning of Jan if my congressman has any available for me or not. I don't really care about Trump either way but going to an inauguration is on my bucket list so I'm going to go for it. Also, Trump looks good in that hair on the lower right. I don't think he'll change because he's stubborn AF, but it looks nice on him. ^^^ I was coming here to post the very same thing! micheley, do you have any idea if those hairstyles are from particular people? (that's just one of the many random things that go thru my head all.day.long, lol) I always assumed he is bald up top and it's a funky combover, so none of those better hairstyles would work?

Nope. Not going to watch. My husband watched him on 60 minutes and I spent the entire time yelling at the tv. I'm afraid if I watch him be sworn in I might throw something and break our tv

I bought plane tix for me & the kids the day after the election. We plan on meeting my sister in DC. She's working that day (Smithsonian). I'll report back on exploding bibles and fly away comb overs but this Floridian is hoping it is not windy or bitterly cold..not sure if I can handle cold weather anymore after all these years in FL. I hate to tell you, but January in DC is typically COLD. Like bitterly ache all the way up your back cold! Dress in layers and buy the hand and feet warmers for yourself and good luck!

You're right. Pity the poor pup. Maybe a mountain lion like Barron was sitting in in that family portrait. View AttachmentHolly crap ! What a weird photo.... How is her dress spread out like that and nothing else is moving? Wonder how much money will be spent on remodeling or redecorating the White House.

I can understand some changes to reflect your taste, however to dramatically change the esthetics of this historic grand house to conform to your love of gold gilded crap is beyond the pale. I have and want to believe they will have only so much they can do. Possibly get some leopard chairs and a gold ottoman and call it a day. No solid gold toilets please.

I'd prefer not to subject myself to vomit inducing occasions.
I've also heard that hotels that are usually sold out days after an election have PLENTY of rooms still available.
Maybe it will be just like his current ego trip, I mean "Victory" tour where the arena was only half full to do the ego stroking he so covets.

I have placed myself in a no news status for the next 4 years.
Since the election, I have not seen, read, or heard ONE bit of news. I just cannot.
So, I will not be watching this shit show.
I have asked my friends to respect my wishes and not inform me about anything related to this individual. I have never felt less American than during the day after the election. So. There you have it.
I pray for the people who voted for this. I pray for this nation. I pray that we are strong enough to weather what's down the pike. I pray. Because I am unsure of where exactly do I belong. Not in my country of birth, and since November 9th, I'm unsure that this is where I belong.

I was talking to friends who are enough younger than I am that they don't know Friends and they give me grief when I bring up a Friends quote and they tell me "not everything comes back to Friends" and I tell them, "yeah it kind of does."

I can't wait to see the Obama's leave on Inauguration Day. And if the helicopter crashes shortly after take-off? Well, no tears will be shed by me.

That was very informative. Thank you. But yikes, it looks like they'll be able to do whatever they want. But a budget of $100,000? Hell he'll spend that on one gold inlaid throne from which he will reign.

I won't be watching for the same reason I didn't watch President Obama's inauguration - I'll be on a plane somewhere between Australia and Europe. When Obama was sworn in, I was headed back to Australia from a vacation in Germany. This time I'll be coming back to Germany after vacation in Australia. Weird coincidence!
