Bummer. Does that mean they don't do the design or anything? And they don't help them pick a house to reno? Nope. One owner featured on the show said he did all the work and the 'other house' was owned by a buddy of his. He had already owned the house they were renovating for something like 3 years and that the real estate agent brother wasn't even licensed in the state the house was located in. The owner said that they basically came in, shoved them out of the way to film and took all the credit for their work. Yikes. What a bunch of liars they are. Serves me right for believing anything w/o a bit of research.

It doesn't really bother me ~ I consider it entertainment and nothing more.

This dude sounds bitter that he didn't get credit for his work being showcased on someone else's show. The Property Brothers were originally the realtor/construction lead, but as they expanded out of Canada and into different areas of the US, they have to use local licensed professionals. Why would they go through the licensing process in each different state when they are only planning to be there for a few transactions? The brothers are essentially the hosts of a very formula driven show. I record all these type of shows because I want to see the before and after and fast forward through everything in between. If you live in Nashville you can apply here to be on the show. My favorite requirement is: Be outgoing, energetic, opinionated, and fun with unique stories to tell.

Remember Room by Room? I still can't believe those 2 hosts were never married LOL! I found this link with a "where are they now" update on a lot of the hold HGTV shows. Fun! Where are they now? HGTV edition.

Oh I get that they know how it works...it is the misleading of viewers that I don't like.

Divine Design is probably my all time favorite and I loved seeing the choices on Designer's Challenge and the finished product - no going through the drama of the renovation.

Well it doesn't bother me that any of these shows are 'fake' to some point. You can't very well do a 30 or 1 hour show and some of it not be fake. I just want to see what they are doing.. Before, middle and after... I consider the hosts (Chip/Joanna or the brothers) just hosts even if they are considered part of the construction work or not. It's just cheap entertainment.

I saw a blurb today that the Flip people are already dating other people but trying to keep it quiet. It makes me wonder how much is true (surely the police incident is) and how much might be a ratings grab or to get interest up for the next season they plan on filming soon. And how is that supposed to work? Are they hoping more people will tune in to watch the awkwardness? And short of one walking out the minute the other enters the room (which is definitely not what producers want), how could the show possibly get any more awkward than it already was? IF they are trying to show that a couple can split but still make it work, this doesn't seem like the right show for that to me.

It also states that she is dating another "design professional". Here is the link to what I read. Leaving the kids in the care of the nanny, hmmmm. Flip or Flop couple secretly dating others

HGTV edition. Thanks for the link! I loved watching Decorating Cents, Divine Design, and Room By Room. There was another one, but I can't remember the name of the show or the host. All I remember is the host was a woman with brown hair. Darn, it's going to bug me until I figure it out. ETA: I finally remembered who I was thinking of. Lynette Jennings had a show on the Discovery channel. I also liked Christopher Lowell's show. Save

Man, that was a stroll down memory lane. Each one that popped up made me smile.
Joan Steffend was by far and away my favorite! I'm excited to go and find her blog.
Matt and Sheri - loved them!! How cool that they still work together.
The little Designing for the Sexes dude - I was so crushed when he stopped hosting the show - wasn't right without him.
Paul James - he cracked me up!!
Carol Duvall - never could figure out if I cared for her or not, but she had super-cool projects on her show.
Candice Olson - I loved her quick wit, and of course the "Hunky Carpenter Paul" And Chico. He was adorable.
Sandra & Genevieve - I loved listening to them talk, don't know why
Chris Harrison - honestly I think his HGTV show is why I can't stand the bachelor shows. It's exactly the same thing in my brain lol.

TMZ is reporting that Christina is dating one of their former contractors. Apparently he was there when the cops were called... weird
