Mrs. Doubtfire. Birdcage is a close second.

That is such a tough question, as he had so many truly wonderful performances. I have to say that "Awakenings" has a special place in my heart, though. I worked at a movie theater when it came out and I think I watched it at least 10 times.

I've only ever seen Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire by him. And Aladdin of course. I will have to see what's available on Netflix and watch some in his honor.

So many... Bicentennial Man What Dreams May Come Hook Jumanji Dead Poet Society Patch Adams Good Morning Vietnam And he still has projects coming out this year...like five of them. The Angriest Man in Brooklyn is one to watch for. *ugh* Just...so sad he's gone. He always popped up in the most unexpected movies. Like A.I. Too many

I've been trying to narrow this down all day and I just can't. There really are too many that I love, and they are quite different. So it depends on what mood I'm in. My top picks:
The Fisher King The Birdcage Dead Poets Society Awakenings Patch Adams One Hour Photo (so creepy!)
I seriously want to just hole up in my house all weekend and watch his movies

I only liked the movies where he stuck to the script. Hated the nonstop rambling. Just didn't get it. I loved Dead Poets Society, Awakenings, Good Will Hunting and Birdcage.

Thank you for this thread. I can't get his death out of my mind, and everyone around me thinks I'm being melodramatic for even feeling one way or another about "just an actor."
I don't think he's been in a movie that I didn't like. I absolutely loved What Dreams May Come. Patch Adams is good. Mrs. Doubtfire is unforgettable.
I can't believe we now live in a world where Robin Williams is not.

I am attending a family reunion this week and we "played" this game late into the evening last night.
With mostly different answers!
Anyway, mine will always be "Good Morning, Vietnam"
What's yours?
Thanks, Layce I have a tie between "Dead Poets Society" and "Awakenings".

I liked RV, it was filmed near where I live, the Birdcage and Aladdin are also some of my favourites. My kids lived Mrs Doubtfire, and watched it over and over.

Too hard to pick! I loved so many, but Awakenings, Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams are standouts. Oh, wait, Mrs. Doubtfire too... how to choose?

Jumanji. It is just a great family movie. Maybe that is why I'm listing it first right now. My son and I watched it recently.
I mentioned at dinner the other night, that I had a friend tell me, that they thought my son would end up as a doctor. Saying he was so compassionate for his age, but had a terrific sense of humor at the same time. When I told my son that story, he said those 2 traits don't go together for being a doctor. I told him we would watch Patch Adams together to see if he would like to be that type of doctor. Now I may cry the whole way thru. This is just so sad.

Dead Poet's Society, hands down, but Aladdin holds a special place in my heart. And makes me laugh hysterically!

Aladdin and Popeye for comedy, Dead Poets Society for drama. I also love the episode of Homicide he guest starred in.

My DS/22 told me today that his favorite was Mrs. Doubtfire. He said that when me and his Dad were going through a divorce he watched it and it helped him get through it so it's a very special movie to him. I didn't know that until yesterday. sniff. sniff. sniff. sniff. are you kidding me? I'm at sob, sob at least and not my son. What a special thing to learn at this point. You'll never see that movie the same again.

Argh, how could I forget bicentennial man?
That movie was all kinds of awesome but I ugly cried so much watching that I couldn't watch it again. Literally catching a glimpse of it on tv and I would be crying.
And Jumanji too! Love that movie.

August Rush is my all time favorite movie. I loved lots of his movies. Awakenings, Mrs. Doubtfire, Patch Adams, Bicentennial Man, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society. It is hard to pick a favorite. I would love it if Netflix had all of his movies for streaming for a while as a tribute to him.

We watched awakenings lat night, and it was wonderful. My all-time favourite though is 'The world according to Garp'. Such an unusual film and both he and Glen Close are amazing in it.
ETA this thread has reminded me of Bicentenial Man. One of my favourite films of all time and one of the few I have actually purchased AFTER seeing it.
