I am attending a family reunion this week and we "played" this game late into the evening last night.
With mostly different answers!
Anyway, mine will always be "Good Morning, Vietnam"
What's yours?
Thanks, Layce

The Birdcage (we just watched it last night on Netflix) or One Hour Photo. He was perfectly creepy in that movie.

Mine is Awakenings. I loved him in dramatic roles. His acting in Good Will Hunting was excellent as well.

Good Morning Vietnam, but loved him in Dead Poets Society too.. Oh Captain my Captain. Weird that most of the stories I've read on his death, most don't mention either of the above.

One Hour Photo is also really good and not his usual character.

Dead Poets Society. It's one of my all time favorites. Here's the actual Oh Captain, My Captain poem:
O Captain! My Captain! BY WALT WHITMAN O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won, The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring; But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding, For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning; Here Captain! dear father! This arm beneath your head! It is some dream that on the deck, You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still, My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will, The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won; Exult O shores, and ring O bells! But I with mournful tread, Walk the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.

The Birdcage and Awakenings. Two completely different roles that showed in part how special his immense talent was.

Even though it's just his voice, his performance is amazing in Aladdin. Can you think of any other animated character that embodies an actor as much as the Genie does of Robin Williams? My DS/22 told me today that his favorite was Mrs. Doubtfire. He said that when me and his Dad were going through a divorce he watched it and it helped him get through it so it's a very special movie to him. I didn't know that until yesterday. sniff. sniff.

Awakenings. I loved DeNiro in that film, too.
Hook is a close second.

He was my favorite actor, and I loved many of his movies. I even had a fan page back in the 90's before actors started setting up their own pages.
The World According to Garp is the one that made me love him and appreciate his ability, so I'll chose that one.

I can't pick just one. For family fun, I love Mrs Doubtfire. For drama, it's Dead Poets Society and Good Morning, Vietnam. For comedy, Birdcage.
Actually, I loved all of his movies. If he was in it, I would watch it. Although The World According to Garp is one I don't think I've seen.

I know it is sad to say this but what dreams may come is one of my favorite movies. I loved dead poets society when it came out but I haven't seen it in at least ten years. I will watch it again soon.
I also loved his comedies. The birdcage is great even though I'm not a gene Hackman fan.
