Tomorrow I'd like to finish my 2016 (non-weekly) PL- half of November and all of December including 2 traditional layouts. Then I'd like to finally make my 2017 start PL page using the FYC New Beginnings kit. I've had something in mind and I just want to see it come together! That's a tall order for me but accomplishable if my friend's husband is still sick and we end up not going to see Star Wars. I'll be home all day! Well, I got November done and part of a layout but it wasn't coming together so I took the dog for a walk then rearranged a shelf in our kitchen then came back and wasn't feeling it anymore. I should have just glued it down and moved on instead of distracting myself! Oh well, it's a day off so I'm going to lay on the couch and binge watch something! Bookmarking my goal for next weekend

My progress so far in January:
I'm working on two Autumn 2016 layouts. Nine photos total. I made a priority of photographing the leaves vibrant colors, and I want to get these layouts made.
So far I have the background paper picked, the photos matted (the ones getting matted, anyway) and adhered to the background paper. And a few phrase cut-outs from the same paper pad, to embellish.
It's all sitting on my desk, and I'm hoping I can work on/finish it today.

Well, I finished the two autumn layouts this morning, after prepping the slow cooker.
I kept the layouts fairly simple, used coordinating papers (from the same pad), and used letter stickers for the titles.
But I'm glad that it's done, and in a book.
Now I have another two photos on my desk. I have a die that will coordinate with the theme of one of the photos, and two embossing folders I would like to use.

I can't seem to find much creativity this month. I finally scrapped in 2017, but only one page in my December Documented. I think that finishing the gift albums may have slowed me down for awhile, but I refuse to stop trying. I'll find the creativity soon!

I have two Disney layouts left to embellish but I'm kind of running out of Disney steam. I might take a break from it until I feel inspired. Then again I might power through it just to get to the journaling so I can get this baby finished!

I finished embellishing! I even went through all the layouts and added a few more finishing touches. Hopefully I'll be able to get started on journaling tomorrow. I'm thrilled with my progress and I'm so excited to be able to get these layouts into an album and into a shelf so soon.

Good job, Elsabelle, moving right along with those pages! I always love a project at the beginning and often hate it by the end. Not the project, just the job of getting it finished, which seems much more like WORK than PLAY! Good to see you making progress on your goals, linda! Don't worry, iheartpaper, your muse will return to you. After a crafting binge like you have had, it is no wonder that your creative brain is tired. Give yourself a rest and soon you will be crafting like crazy again! I finished a two pager today, using a sketch from a class I am enrolled in. After being away from crafting, it seems I need kick starts for my projects. But my main goal for the month was to get back into playing with paper, and I got to do that today. I like the pages I have done, (they are in the 2peas Gallery) so that it another bonus. I forgot to add to my goals a couple of birthday cards I need to make this month. Maybe I will tackle those tomorrow, but maybe not. I have a page idea and the photos and some product laid out on my counter, so I will probably start with that in the morning, and I have a dr appointment in the afternoon.

That's why I'm so thrilled this time. I don't hate it! I was worried that I'd start to hate it when I started embellishing those last two layouts, but they actually went pretty quickly and easily. iheartpaper, I won't be surprised if I don't feel creative after finishing my album. Big projects, especially if you felt rushed while working on them, can really take it out of you. It'll come back to us.

I need some advice, ladies! This is the layout that stumped me yesterday and I don't like it. I think it's too washed out and there's not enough contrast? Would you be so kind as to give me some advice? I know you can't tell very well but the splatters are dark green. I looked for more dark green embellishments but couldn't find anything. Maybe a mat behind the squares would help? Thanks! i.imgur.com/3hpV3TJ.jpg

I love the patterned paper you used...or is it a stamped background? I agree that if YOU feel it's missing something, to use the dark green. One way you could go is to use the slightest mat of dark green behind the entire layout. That helps me sometimes if I feel something is off, but your style is so clean, not sure if you'd want that. Each time I see one of your layouts (thanks for sharing), I always LOVE your style! PS...I totally failed my frozen January because nicolep linked up you sharing the Clique Kits mystery boxes...lol. I have NO willpower when it comes to box sales!

Page looks good, ellewood! I love those trees! If you want more green, then matting the 4 elements separately, or the four as a block would work.

I agree with you ladies...those albums sucked the creativity from every pore!
Tonight I made two pages in my December Documented that I absolutely adored! I really felt like my creativity returned...yay!
I almost feel like the way I'm storing my big kit is getting me down. Too much that has to be moved around too much to make me productive. I want some kind of acrylic desk organizer that would allow all my paper and sticker sheets to be standing up for me to rifle through. I saw someone on YouTube using one to organize and I'm going to hunt something like that down. I love how my bits and pieces are in a cupcake pan. That's working well.

I'll chop up some green cardstock and see if that helps! PS. The paper is from a messy box kit I got from the SC warehouse box sale and is basically all of the Christmas stuff I own...

While researching acrylic desk organizers I realized I have a metal mail sorter. I loaded it up with all the paper, alpha, flat stickers, scraps etc. I am already happy with the setup and am excited to see if it will help my process.

Nice layout ellewood. Love your puppy! I agree with the consensus for a unifying mat behind your 4 blocks. Something just in the center, green or pink maybe more horizontal, peeking out the right side.

I haven't scrapped for at least 7 to 9 months, possibly longer. I just moved in September halfway across the country from the DC area after living there for nearly 37 years. While preparing for the move, I didn't have time to scrap, and my supplies were packed.
Now that the rest of the house is mostly unpacked and set up, I want to get my scraproom set up the rest of the way, get my supplies and tools unpacked, and get back to scrapping!

January goals: clean up area that got messed while dh was doing some honey do's in my space. I've started but still have a bit more. Finish my altered rolodex cards for a swap. Finish my year in review double pages for a swap.
No "for me" scrapping this month.

Oh my....I haven't scrapped in over a year. First it was packing then moving. My space is set up but still needs some organization. I'm working on that and then I need to tackle photo organization. I have quite a bit I need to "catch up" on this year.

I finished two pages today. (They are in the 2peas Gallery). Used some photos from November and some papers that have been in my hockey stash for awhile. Also used some Nuvo drops, so I guess that fits into my goal to use up some of my artsy supplies that tend to dry up when unused for too long. Figured out how to add "production" to my signature, so started my 2017 count. LisaDV , I bet you will be scrapping away once you get your newly organized space set up. Hope you get back into scrapping soon, scrapnnana and sbee ! It feels good!

The last few months of 2015 were spent making the eight memorial albums to celebrate my MIL's life...496 pages total! Then I couldn't seem to get creative in early 2016 like this year. I realized one key thing that I did last year to start scrapping again was find a random picture that I LOVED and just scrap, tell a story, etc. It didn't need to go with any project I had planned, just gorgeous supplies that inspired me. I think that those layouts might have been the only ones I completed for quite awhile. No projects, just random. I filled an album full and eventually started putting them in the correct albums, but it was the opposite of stressful. I love those pages.
The moral to my long winded (as usual) story is...if we're not able to be creative doing what we feel "needs" to be done, or stressed about what is involved to make a particular project get going, take a break and find joy in our lovely hobby.
This was more for me than anyone...now off my soapbox!

This was more for me than anyone...now off my soapbox! This is good advice for anyone who hasn't scrapped in a while. Scrap something that will make you smile. I haven't done any scrapping in a couple of days. Just haven't felt like it. I feel blah from being sick and I have errands to run today. I want to be in a good frame of mind for journaling my Disney album. It was so fun and so happy and I want the journaling to reflect that. We're expecting more rain this weekend so maybe I'll do it then. Rainy days are good for scrapping.

ITA, Elsabelle and iheartpaper. We don't want to lose sight of the fun in this hobby of ours. I got over my funk about not having the most recent photos to scrap, and am going through the pile of pic's I DO have, choosing ones that "make me smile", and going with those. Not worrying about all the things I COULD be doing: just doing something with what I have in front of me. And having fun. When I get tired or achy, I just quit. Two pages finished and into the Gallery today. Had used (in my 30 days book) the 5x7 I had intended to anchor this series of photos in my "regular" scrapbook, but rearranged the photos and just put the pages together. They are finished. And I like them. So there! For my next set of photos (from the summer of 2016), I want to do some artsy backgrounds (these are pic's of my dgk's crafting away), so I think I will leave the mess in my scraproom and go downstairs where I mess around with art supplies, and play with some paints and inks and stencils and... Hoping the result will be something I can use. If not, then I can always try again tomorrow.
