grammadee , how is the healing process going for you? My arm is healing nicely according to the follow up x-rays yesterday. Hardly any pain at the break site. My shoulder is really stiff though and quite painful as I work to get its function back to where I need it to be. (Can't lift that arm above shoulder level without pain, and I certainly wouldn't trust myself to lift something down or put something up on a shelf higher than my head.) And I seem to have gotten really lazy over the last month, so I get tired really quickly...

Or (I am not a doctor) googling exercises for shoulder mobility after a break might help. You've been sidelined long enough, girl!

Thanks to all of your help, I finished that wonky layout! I decided to add some trees as mats in dark green colors. I think it adds just enough! Very tempted to add gold to the tree tips, but decided not to get too fussy!

My pictures from Amazon prime pictures arrived today...a day early. Yay! I've started filling pockets of my December Documented and then I'll move on to filling the pockets of my 6x8 project life. It's more like a year in review, or monthly.
Tomorrow I have mystery boxes arriving from Clique Kits so I always try to accomplish something big before a delivery. I negotiate with myself about what needs to be handled prior to the arrival...mind games I guess. I really want ALL these pictures in their pockets and the paper slid into the pockets of my December Documented. I'd like to do multiple loads of laundry, too. Do any of you play mind games with yourself like this?

If your doctor hasn't sent you to physical therapy you can probably find something on YouTube. I've done that after spraining my ankle at my doctor's suggestion. It was very helpful.

I must be very gullible, it usually works.

It does work Chinagirl828! I got the pictures loaded in my December Documented album in their correct pockets but I still need to decide what patterned paper. I'll try and work on that in the morning before my doorbell rings with happy mail. My 2016 project life/year in review (6x8) morphed into two albums. Luckily I had a matching album. There was no way one would have held 70 plus pages so July will start the second album. I will probably wait until DD19 goes back to school on the 16th to hunt down (in my stash) supplies that matched the Websters Pages calendar stuff I originally had placed in all the pockets. It shouldn't be that hard to coordinate each month. All the pictures and original supplies are in the pockets at least. I also got out DD19's college pictures so we can get ready to sort. There are multiple pictures on 4x6's and 5x7's that I need to cut apart first to make easier.

Well, I got to play a little tonight. I would have got more done but DD came home early and decided to come visit and chat with me in my craft room. That's time well spent too though!
I did get to work a little on catching up on my 6x8 "let's take a walk" album. I also took the opportunity to use both my new WRMK typewriter and Precision Press. Happy with both so far! The only thing is I feel the typewriter is a bit noisy to use late at night. My craft room is right beside the other bedrooms and everyone else is in bed.
I'm (hopefully) going to hit Walmart tomorrow and print the November/December pics so I can continue on.

I have two goals for this month: I want to finish my Dec daily (done through to the 17th) and my 2016 PL (done through to the start of Nov I think). One down - I have finished my DD. I've enjoyed working on it but I'm definitely ready to play with some other projects.

I've had a really productive weekend and have printed all my photos for my PL through to the 4th Dec and have them in the album ready to add the journaling and the pretty stuff.

I don't have a specific "layouts completed" goal but just want to make this hobby a bigger priority because I do love it and haven't been consistent in the last few years

Just pop into one of these goals & progress threads when you get anything accomplished. These girls really help to keep us all motivated whether our goals are specific or not. It feels good to get back into it, doesn't it?

I thought I had already posted on this thread. I had not. I have 8 cards I need to make for January and February events. I completed 4 full ones on weekend. And I need about 10 -15 mins to complete 2 more. Glossy accents was drying.
One of the remaining cards I will just recreate one I have previously made. Should take all of 10 mins. One layer stamping. Its a masculine card.
Last card is for a fellow crafter. I have ideas of grandeur for it. Its going to take a while I think. I am waiting on 2 orders of dies that is in mail to arrive before I start it. It doesn't have to be mailed until Feb 11th so I have some time.
I still need to work on my room. I'm hoping this coming weekend I can make a huge dent in it on Sunday.
I did realize this weekend while making birthday cards..I really lack in Happy Birthday stamps. They are all so small. I may need to look into a couple sets.
I also realized I have no heart dies...

I didn't have a spare minute for scrapping this weekend but I did have some fun family time. Weekends go by so fast, don't they?
Hopefully I'll get to that journaling today. It's still raining. I like a rainy day every now and then but when it's day after day of rain it saps my energy and I have no motivation.

My plan is to spend less and craft more, so far so good I've crafted two days so far, making four thank you cards the first day and six birthday cards yesterday. I've also been cleaning and organizing my room more too

I got a couple of pages finished today and a little more done on a couple of cards. Used some really old stash on my pages, even as far back as Little Yellow Bicycle pp!
Using more wet media on my cards, so every layer has to dry before I can attempt the next. But playing with my art supplies WAS one of my goals!

I am all caught up with my 6x8 pocket album which was on my to do list. I also pulled out a couple of pictures that I had printed a little while ago and they are on my scrapping radar for this weekend. One is 6x6 photo that might work with the January sketch challenge. grammadee I'm glad to see that you are feeling well enough to get some crafting done. You made me think too... I'm sure I've got some Little Yellow Bicycle in my stash too. A love themed one and another that all I remember is it's maybe a blue or teal colour with foiling. Now I'm going to have to go look after work. Maybe I better wait for the weekend! If I go in there at 1am when I get home I'll be in there all night!! Sleep is important too I guess. LOL

You ladies are making me want to be a card maker! Love hearing what all of you are doing.
We've been preparing for DD19 to return to school next Monday. There is ice coming so we had to hit the stores early for all the things she needs to take back with her. We also convinced DS29 to take a flight Friday to LA instead of waiting until Monday and taking the chance of missing his connecting flight to Tokyo. Southwest was making changes for free (more expensive flight)to help people get out before the ice moves in. I've always loved southwest, but that really was nice! So I've been caught up in his planning for three days in LA and DD17 staying at his apartment in the city while he's gone. Busy, busy, busy. No time to scrapbook, but I did fussy cut some cute icons from AMY Tangerine's Better Together.
I'm looking forward to everything quieting down so I can finish up the December Documented before the month is over.

hi everyone! hope it's okay if i pop in here. I am newly back to scrapping after a long time away, and am also now interested in card making. I don't have specific goals right now, but want to scrap at least once a week and take a lot more photos. I have been sick but feeling a smidge better today so hope to make one or two layouts. I tend to do double pages so those take a bit longer. I also might stop by joann or michael and see what prices i can get on the big shot. i am saving up for one for cardmaking.

Yes the chunky red ones will work for sure. Just requires you to use between the two cutting pads. Every die works in the big shot (I think fiskars fuse tool won't, but I really can't think of anything else that doesn't) Ok take into account size of the die. Your limited only in dimensions

What you need to look for when purchasing a die for a diecutting machine like the Big Shot, is the dimension info. The regular Big Shot will cut any die 6 inches or narrower. The regular sized plates are about 8 1/2 inches long. You can get longer ones, but they don't come with the machine I don't think. As to thickness, it will cut just about any depth of die: you just have to adjust the thickness of the "sandwich" (the different plates you put the die & paper between). The extras that are worth the money (at least for me they have been priceless) are the Magnetic Platform, and a Metal Shim. They really help if you plan to use wafer thin dies. If you are buying at Michaels, be sure to go on a big coupon day. I got a Big Shot last year for 50% off.

thanks-i thought you couldn't use coupons on the big shot. that always seems to be inthe fine print Okay so if i get the big shot, then i can right away cut the red dies. If i want tocut the wafer thin dies, then i should get the magnetic platform and the metal shim--is that correct? thank you so much.

At this point I would be happy just to finish the one layout that I started at the end of last year. We have just been so busy and I injured myself falling off the bottom of the stairs going into my scrapbooking room and all my free days before I went back to work were spent upstairs with legs up and ice packs. The kids are on there school holidays here and we are just really busy until they go back, so some free time to just focus on a layout would be wonderful.
