I think sometimes the manufacturers are trying too hard to come up with something unique to appeal to a clientele they view as artistic. Problem is that they sometimes overthink it. And then other companies don't want to miss even a tiny niche so they grab anything new and run with it.
I don't have a donut stamp, or a pineapple one, and I am pretty sure I won't buy a croissant one either.

Haha, grammadee, I have the LF Donut stamp (and yes the die, too). I've used it a few times. Luckily it was cheap. But I don't really know when I'd use a croissant....

I don't have a clue why or when I would have a use for a llama. The same for me when it comes to random things like popsicles or even feathers.

That is the sort of image I would use a sticker for - or cut an image with my die cutter. I don't buy one-time use stamps (or dies for that matter).
That said...I can't see me using a croissant or a doughnut or a llama even ONCE.
I do have (and use) a QK pineapple die BUT I bought it knowing that it would be used multiple times and it has been. (and no, not on fruit related pages - I use it with photos from colonial port cities...Newport, Savannah, St Augustine...

Its cute, I like how they paired it with Birthday. Something different then cake. I'd buy it over a llama.
We should start a poll....last stamp on earth...do you buy the llama or the croissant

Here is the latest Taylored Expressions die/stamp set alpaca my birthday hat Not really an alpaca or llama fan, but that is a cute saying! Puts the croissant further down the list...

I just saw some of the new sneaks and came across Jillibean Soups new line Souper Celebration with Llamas and crocodiles (probably alligators really, I am in Australia). The first thing that popped into my mind was the thread from the other day about random trends and I know that Llamas were mentioned on there. I actually don't mind the new and different animals we are seeing, seems like we have had owls and woodland creatures forever but they are two animals that I don't think of together.
As for that croissant stamp I don't personally get it, but then again just as my user name suggests I am a cupcake and cake girl at heart so I will just stick to the mountains of cake stamps that I already own.

Yeah, not sure about that croissant.
As for the llama, I must admit I am a themed scrapper, so cute as it is, unless I have zoo photos, it isn't something I would use.
I did buy a pineapple from Silhouette. We visited Dole when we were in Hawaii, so I made a big one, cut it in half and put one piece on each page of the layout. Will I ever use it again? Probably not.
I tend to be very literal, so you won't find a lot of mustaches, flowers (I have boys), foxes, porcupines (my friend collected those cute stamps from Stampin' Up) on any of my pages.
I know, I know. I have no vision, lol.

I wonder if behind closed doors, the designers are just saying, "We've run out of things to make. Arrows, feathers, it's all done!"
(In walks an intern)
What's that in your hand, Bob?!
A coffee..
No, your other hand, you fool?!
My croissant?
That's it! It's brilliant! Croissant stamps, dies, puffy stickers! Get this in production before AC and MME jump on it first!

It's on graphic tees and has been in a few sayings. I have no clue what they are because I'm not a hipster...but it's a thing. If only WWF could make an endangered species a social media hit or something slang could be made with it that caught on, it would serve a purpose other than being cool and trendy.

I'm French and I'm a croissant girl, not a pain au chocolat lover. For once, the wacky stamp industry is actually catering to me. ETA: wait, what? A croissant as a birthday treat? Ok. No. That's just a breakfast viennoiserie, nothing "birthday special." What kind of croissants do you guys make in the US for them to be considered birthday-worthy? We have them for breakfast a couple of times of week, you can see parents stopping at the local bakery as they walk their children back home to buy them one as an afternoon snack, trust me, you're going to disappoint a French person if you get them a croissant for their birthday.

Trust me, in the U.S., croissants are just as ordinary and considered a breakfast pastry as well. That said, it's not easy to find REALLY GOOD croissants here. Almost every bakery and grocery store has them, but they are usually bad to mediocre. So I guess I wouldn't mind a delicious croissant on my birthday hahaha

My prediction for a new icon is . . . toucans. Their associated quip will be "You toucan. . ." and then you just add whatever fits your situation; for example, spell out the words "have the", slap on one of your many "best day ever" stickers and voila!

Oh true....I've just remembered that my youngest DD has a tshirt that we bought from Target in probably October that has llamas on it, so I guess they are a thing. I'd forgotten about that. Still don't really think I'd use a llama stamp though.

People always say they want something new, so there you go! I do have pictures of llamas. I also have great pictures of sloths and pooping howler monkeys. My animal photography widely varies. We are planning a Costa Rica trip this summer, so bring on the unusual animals. One of my favorite pictures (of content) I took in the dark was of a GIANT bullfrog sitting right next to a crab. You know that bullfrog was going to eat that crab. I believe I saved a life that night.

Not sure you will need a croissant, though. Sorry!

I have a picture of a huge blue iguana that fell out of the tree when I passed by and startled it. Even the bugs are giant and fascinating. I will miss the croissants though.

For some reason I don't think animal images are weird and I say bring on the otters and sloths and frogs and alpacas.....I am certainly over rabbits and foxes though but for some reason I just thought a croissant was ...so...random......

Where are you sleepingbooty? I was in Nice for 6 days - had a wonderful time there and doing some day trips. I'm on the CΓ΄te d'Azur (not Nice but would have happily taken the train or car to meet up for coffee, scrappy talk or a visit of something a little less known)! Glad to hear you enjoyed my patch of France. I hope you didn't come when the weather was overcast and weird.
