I don't think it matters whether Trump asked for/approved the cake. At best, he is hiring and surrounding himself with people who make decisions to copy and plagarize other people's work. I would have thought he was surrounding himself on people with the best ideas and yuge creativity. Buttercream Bakery was specifically asked by Trump team to recreate the same cake. Credit was only given to Duff Goldman AFTER he posted the spilt picture showing his cake with the copy. BB posted after his tweet, on their Instagram that they were asked to copy it and that all proceeds were going to a charity. (I hate when after there has been drama or wrongdoing that there is a mention that proceeds are going to charity--as if it makes the copying/stealing of design so much more okay!) 😡 Wow (and completely agree donating proceeds to charity doesn't make it ok to copy a design). It's just going to get worse.
He's going to ban anyone who disses him or disagrees with him, facts or not.
Tony Schwartz called this early on. He said it would happen. Guy has to be shitting himself now knowing what he does about Trump.

I tend to agree. I do tend to think that those who make mention of the curtain change is just more "proof" that he's trying to erase all evidence that President Obama existed. For me, meh--it's just curtains and he's a vain, materialistic egomaniac. And the cake--they (either Trump team and when that failed the bakery (they should have known better as I bet they would be pissed if it happened to them) should have contacted Duff and asked him if they could copy it.

Of all the things to worry about, you worry about a cake and a dress??!! Really??!! No one cares about a cake and a dress, but they are perfect metaphors for Trump and his team's lack of even one original idea.

I think DT just wanted to have "Golden Shower" curtains. Probably makes him feel closer to his good pal, Vlad.

Chill folks. That's why it's called "LITTLE Trumpisms", not "END OF HUMANITY Trumpisms". It's a place to collect those little inane things that betray Trump's yuge external hubris coinciding w his betrayals of tiny underlying confidence.

Why would they care about copying anything? How many time has ivanka been sued for ripping off fashion designs?
I don't think they know or care about copyright law.

They don't care. They rely on others to sue them, many cannot afford to. Trump voters just put a megalomaniac, egotistical, narcissistic, lying, cheating theif of a man into office. He will erode away any sense of decorum, honesty and pride people had for the country.

Now, to be fair, did Trump ask for that cake or did they just hire someone and THAT person decided to copy a cake? I don't like the man but I can't pin this totally on him. How much say does the President actually have in the design and foods? But really, in this day and age of the internet and social media, how can the maker of Trump's cake NOT know it's an exact copy of a previous cake? I'm also curious as to what other cakes have looked like. Other than a few wedding cakes, presidential birthday cakes, and coverage of Duff making Obama's cake, I couldn't find any pictures of past inauguration cakes. come on, that's like saying "did melania ask for her speech to be plagiarized or did she just hire someone and that person decided to copy the speech." Enough is enough. The buck stops with the Trumps, in the end. And when a man has ethics as loose as he does, it's inevitable that those below him will think plagiarism/copying/basically everything is A-ok.

WTH does that even mean? Every news outlet, every camera they all lie? "They" showed an "empty field" instead of your massive crowds?! Ok, Donald.
His obsession with being the biggest and bestest of everything is so worrisome to me. again, WTH? He is crazy. Egomaniac!!! And Trump voters put him in charge!

If he is this incensed over the crowd size, wtf is he going to do when a different country's leader contradicts him or proves him wrong?
This man needs to be taken out of office stat. He needs to be impeached...he is going the way of Hitler faster than the speed of sound.

In all fairness, the White House staff has five hours to get stuff changed over from one President to another on inauguration day. Five hours to get the former President's stuff out and the new President's stuff in and set up. That's not a Trump thing, it's how the White House does it for every President. Also, I mean, also in fairness, gold isn't a new thing for the oval office, many presidents have used gold for those curtains including Clinton and Kennedy. I think as much as i am not a supporter of him (Trump), looking at the red curtains (from Obama), they were rather dark and I wasn't a fan of them (and I can see them wanting to change them straight away to be honest), the curtains have in the past been gold or blue historically and knowing he would be photographed (in that room) having the curtains changed was probably something that is actually on the list of first things that are changed because of those first photographs. And the photographers are NOT going to be happy. (Says the girl who photographs at the school with the most grotesque gold stage curtain ever. ) Don't remember where I heard it but apparently he was very involved in the party planning, even to the point of requesting the dinnerware, so I would say it's not unlikely that he requested the cake design. My opinion only, of course.

I don't know much about copyright laws when it comes to cakes, but I would think the bakery would have known they were pushing it. I mean it's not like it was little Johnny's backyard birthday party cake. Somebody was gonna notice this. I would only buy the charity crap if it had been announced ahead of time.

I really liked Duff's reply to Buttercream. Outstanding--showing inclusiveness instead of making a stink--so classy, especially after Spicer's freak out.
Dude. The reason why the gates and metal detectors were further out was for security. Nobody wants Pence to be president, and an assassination would trigger another civil war. I know I would have been concerned being at the inauguration that someone would set off a bomb or something--do we really think out enemies wouldn't do that? Also I know that there's a lot of terror plots that get foiled that the public knows nothing about because I've heard about a few of them from my dad.
I also believe that the white sheets were put down to better show that the crowds were smaller, which makes me worried that Trump isn't going to be any different after all.
I watched the 20/20 on the Inauguration today. They showed a lot of the protests, and included different people's messages to Trump which showed inclusiveness and just as much class while still making the point that we're worried and want to come together. I'm so happy that the vast majority of the protests including the ones by women today were peaceful.

Someone needs to make a golden shower emoji stat! Medieval scholars believed that the ancient wonder The Colossus of Rhodes stood astride the harbor of Rhodes and would pee when it rained. Please, please, please, somebody with mad photoshop skills superimpose The Colossus of Rhodes over the curtains with Putin's face on it! The Wiki does state that scholars now think that the Greeks couldn't have built such a statue because the harbour would have been blocked during construction, and Rhodes also wouldn't have had the technology to clear the remains of the statue out of the harbour after the earthquake. But I have my doubts--because of Bimini Road and all the writings about Atlantis. Archaeologists are still discovering artifacts from the ancient world that keep proving that the ancient world was much more technologically advanced than we previously thought. The Greeks built a 108-foot statue out of iron bars with a metal skin affixed with rivets atop a 49 foot high marble platform---the Statue of Liberty was similarly built. We still don't even know how the Egyptians built the pyramids! This also isn't the only tall statue like this in the ancient world.
