My dh is a cardiovascular invasive specialist. Which means that that he got called in today to help save the lives of three different people. All he wanted to do was stay home and watch his Pats beat the Steelers...but you gotta go what you gotta do!
One of his heart caths was on a 36 year old with not one but two occluded arteries. Bad news. Please take care of yourselves. Smoking and diabetes is very very bad for your arteries.

It sounds like you are really proud of him, zookeeperAnd no wonder! I've always thought it must be an amazing feeling to know you are saving people's lives. Being a doctor like that sure isn't something I could do because I would find it so hard to cope with the stress - so I have absolute admiration and respect for people like your husband.

He is not a doctor...he is like the caddy to the professional golfer. He assists the cardiologists with the procedure and recommends devices and tools. He really is one of the best in the business and has experience in multiple modalities including pediatrics. Doctors are usually fighting to have him in their OR rooms because he makes them look good.

I think he's a bum. I am not sure. He was unemployed and doing nothing while DS was visiting him. He was an engineer.

Like solar power? That is cool! There is a house in my neighborhood that has solar panels and I always wonder how much they save on their electric bills. I managed an apartment community about 5 year ago that had the largest installation of solar panels at that time. I could log in to a report any day of the week and see the money savings and power generated. It was really interesting to see how much less power was generated on cloudy days but also in the winter during the shorter days.

I can only imagine how difficult it is to plan things to do on weekends and holidays. DH is a reservoir engineer and has been doing it for 38 years, about 2/3 of it international. He is looking at retiring (or at least cutting back to part time) in the next 5 years, but knowing him he'll keep on consulting as long as he can because he loves what he does.

He will create systems that meet all their power needs so they aren't Paying anything for power- just the cost of the loan, which is easy to pay because you have no power bill and there are government incentives, etc. some people even have their electric car charger installed and then yay- no gas ro pay for for you car either!

He works in the mental health field. He helps get people placed in the right medical care for their needs at that moment. He also works with people who are being released from a hospital to get housing, food, prescriptions, etc. if they need it.

I may have to unfriend you as you are going back on your deal to post stories about the birds and the old woman living at the house. I love your bird stories. The old woman is particularly funny but the duck is a pretty close second!

Mine's the guy in charge of everything computer & network related. He keeps the computers running, which basically keeps the company running, LOL! He talks about the panic that he hears in their voices if he walks in for the day and something isn't working properly.

Just a difference in terminology between USA and NZ that made me think he is a doctor - sorry about that. But it doesn't lessen the stress! The company I work for imports and distributes medical devices, including products for cath labs, so I am very aware of the types of procedures he is there for, and the work he does. You can rightly be proud of him. My husband? He works in a brewery.

For the past year DH has been splitting his time between sales (which he has done for 15ish years for the same company) and corporate training. Last week they made the final decision that they like the training program he's been working on and he will leave sales behind and be the Director of Training full time.

Mine is a full time farmer. A dying breed. Love it!! My bf in college is from a huge farming family. Her mom and dad were farmers, she married a farmer, her grown kids are farmers, etc. I LOVED when I got to ride on the combine with her hubby when he was harvesting his corn. A fun experience I will never forget. God bless your hubby! Oh, and to answer the OP, my hubby has an electrical engineering bachelors, a computer engineering masters, and is CIO of a Fortune 500 company.
