I'm having a lazy Sunday and I'm torn between doing nothing much at all, scrapping, and heading out in the rain to see if the cheesy local M's and J's has anything new while they're having a pretty good sale. Eh. There's always tomorrow. nancydrew, that sounds like a fun project. I tend to finish faster and enjoy the process more when I work on something I want to work on instead of what I think I should work on.

Checking in after just getting home from my 3 day scrap retreat. I originally set a goal for myself of 55-60 pages. By midnight Sat I was at 49 pages. So I got the idea maybe I could do 75. Well that was a bit lofty. The crop ended at 4 pm today and my total at 4 pm was 72 layouts. This is a photo of my layouts at layout 70. They are all 8.5x11.

That is 3 times what I get done on a weekend crop! I finished two double page LO's today, playing along with the pop up crop going on on this board. I have the photos and some of the papers and other elements pulled out for a double page for tomorrow morning.

I have been collecting paper and embellishments for years. I used Graphic 45 Gilded Lily paper for my layouts at dances and balls!

How many pages do you anticipate you will make for your living history project myboysnme? Just talking about your project makes me want to work on one...maybe tonight I'll TRY to scrapbook. My creativity is missing at the moment...

My creativity is missing at the moment... I have 6 albums for this project but I'm thinking 17th century will take one album, 18th century maybe 3 albums, 1830's one album, 1860's 2 albums and 1880's 1 album. So I will need 2 more albums if each has 65-70 pages. I am working on 18th century first until it is all scrapped. I like to work in projects. In between when I need a break I do current photos! I think this project will take me all year.

My yearly goals: 30 minutes on a crafty endeavor 5 of 7 days a week, even if it's cleaning the space. I've missed a couple of days, but still staying on target otherwise. I was under the weather for a few days, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it.I finished 140 layouts last year, and would like to try to at least meet that, if not exceed it. February goals: - I have 79 layout ideas listed with their appropriate photo dates beside them for 2014. I'd like to go through the list, see what I've actually completed, what still needs to be told, and print the photos for them. I'm putting off the printing piece for a few months.- Download my husband iphone photos They would not download with PSE. I think I'll have to go to his icloud folder and do it which means I have to wait for him to figure out his password or reset.
- Download my dslr photos finished 2/16- Make paper kits for currently printed photos finished- Photo editing, Journaling and Photo printing (not sure what dates I'll choose here) Just need to print them finished 2/10- Once the above photos are printed, Kit them. Halfway complete on 2/16- Make hand lotion 2/6- Complete my digital Christmas 2007 pages 2/12- I'd like to have at least 15 pages complete, so if I have less than that on my digi Christmas pages, I'd like to make it up in other layouts. 21 pages completed so far this month. 2/19***ETA*** - I have some Love themed altered rolodex cards for a swap to finish and I also want to finish up the spring themed ones so I can ship them together, even though we haven't even signed up for the spring ones yet. Finished.9 days left in this month. I will definitely finish the page kits. I will not get DH's iphone photos. I also hope to finish another couple of pages, but I'm already over my hoped for amount. It's all bonus points at this juncture. I did order a new portable hard drive that I will use for backing up photos. My EHD was only a 500GB and is full, and I like to have my photos and digital scrapbooking things backed up to 2 outside drives.

I know doing 72 pages at a retreat probably seems like I must be throwing pages together! But when I scrap 8.5x11 there is much less real estate to cover. I also generally get a page done every half hour - even a two pager if it flows. I have a bin of paper next to me and my possible embellies in front of me. I have letter stickers to my right. I pick out several photos and organize them into piles. Each pile is a layout. So if I have 16 pictures of one event, that is 4 or 5 layouts. Then I go through my paper bin and pick out the paper I will use for those piles. Then I grab my paper and trimmer and start cutting down the 12x12 paper to 8.5 x 11 and go to it.
Every page has at least 2 different patterned papers, some type of embellies, a bit of journalling and whatever else will work on the page. I generally have lots to choose from!
So scrapping from 11 am to midnight, then 10 am to midnight, then 9 am to 4 pm you can see how I can get that many pages done. Of course I take time for a little vendor shopping and snack/restroom break and a meal that I usually eat at my table. I do very little socializing - I'm there to scrap! And the best part is I'm sitting next to a window looking out at the ocean. Life could not be better for 3 days!

I scrap somewhat quickly using my diy kits, but I do not have the staying power you have. I tend to scrap a page or two...maybe four. Then I pack up. I might come back in a few hours and start again, but no staying power. The top page in your picture has a bunch of layering and details...you just have a process that allows you to do it quickly! I also can cluster and layer quickly when I can be creative. I think some people just do it faster than others, so no shame there. It's wonderful that you can accomplish all you do!

I did end up getting off my heiney yesterday. I went to M's and J's and didn't find anything! M's did have a great Paris themed paper pad. I loved the paper! But I don't have any need for Paris themed paper so I didn't buy it. I also got one layout done so my day turned out to be more productive than I thought it would be. I'm hoping to get a layout done today and then work on the pile of layouts that need titles and/or journaling. I usually wait until I can print a full page of journaling because I'm a cheapskate about certain things. myboysnme , great job on accomplishing so much at your crop!

I will not get DH's iphone photos I caught Hubs when he was between things to get his icloud information so I spent today downloading the photos from his phone. Tomorrow I'll double check it all. Then I'll be able to cross that off my list too. Hurray.

my goal this month was 30 layouts and Ive only done 6, eek! I got new craftroom furniture for Christmas so I finally got it all set up and ready to go but every time I sit down to scrap someone needs me. I want to scrap so bad! Im thinking of asking my husband to watch the baby for a few hours this weekend so I can scrap. Shut my door and pretend like no ones home, scrap and de-stress.

I think getting your furniture set up is worth 100 layouts - so way to go! Although I like the idea of taking some time to really enjoy your new stuff. Hope it works out for you!

Although my goals for the month were a bit lofty, I am happy to report that I'm finished with only a minor change and a couple of missed days on my craft every day goal. Hurray!
Also, as I was kitting up the last of my printed photos, I sorted through several inches of pattern papers and reorganized them. Now I'm in cleaning mode to make a great start to March layout madness.

I started making kits for Calvinball too. It's so frustrating because I want to start scrapping, and I really have to kick myself so I stay on task. It feels good being organized though (that's kind of a rare thing for me)

only one layout today...and I'm not sure about it...it's in the album and I'll see if I like it better when I haven't been fighting with for two days. Working on September 2016 photos.
I did get some layouts scanned - January 2107, all of 1991 (only 24 layouts), and the first half of 1992...I thought 1992 was complete but alas, I was wrong and there are quite a few unscrapped photos in page protectors mixed in with the layouts. So it's going on March's to-do list.

We have four more days in the month and this is our last weekend of the month. How are you all doing on your goals?
Tomorrow will be a scrap day for me and I'll be starting off with some journaling. Hopefully I'll get a few layouts done after that. I'm working on July 2016 pictures and I haven't been this close to being caught up in a very long time. That makes me a little giddy and gives me motivation to keep going. I'm looking forward to updating my completed layout count on the 28th.

I finally got the titles and journaling done that I've been complaining about for weeks. You'd think it was 50 layouts! It was only 8. One was quite time consuming. It was a photo a day layout and I realized I adhered several of the pictures down in the wrong order and I had to fix that. I don't know what I was thinking when I glued those pictures down. How could I have gotten it that wrong???
