We often have vent threads here, have started one or two myself, but I want to turn it around to the positive and hear some compliments.
I am not often at the office where my boss is, but was today. She said she really liked my shirt. It felt really good because 1) I feel she has a nice sense of style. 2) I was promoted last fall and needed to step up my wardrobe to match the position a bit more. 3) DH and I have been trying to get fit and it has been slow so a comment that says I look nice is very welcome right now. (I know she talked about my shirt, but if it looked bad on me I don't think it would have stood out to her, so it made me feel the shirt also looked nice on me.)
So, what compliments have you been given lately?

My boss told me I have a "relentlessly positive attitude." I hope that was a compliment, anyway.

I was thanked for the work I am doing as a parent representative for an organization of doctors that treat kids with my daughter's disease. This came from the director of the local chapter of the charity that supports the families and kids.

Our daughter finished her second masters, got an amazing job and just found a house that is 3 minutes from her job that she will close on next month. In addition, she qualifies for loan forgiveness after 10 years since she works for a non profit and is an SLP. She also can take extra per diem shifts on the weekend to supplement her income if she so chooses. My 70 year old co worker said I really wished my parents had raised me like you raised your daughter (mind you she was brought up very privileged and attending boarding schools, etc.)

I started a new job last October. They have finalized my nickname finally as "smiley"! I'm counting that as a compliment. Nicknames for me usually have something to do with being short, so I like Smiley a lot.
(ETA: I work with all men)

The hairdresser told me I have the softest hair of any of her clients. My friend told me at the weekend that I'm the most beautiful person inside and out that she knows

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

DH called me Superwoman and sent me my new avatar photo after I trudged through 8 inches of unplowed snow with my cane so I could get to my car and go to work last week. Despite the blizzard courts weren't closed.

I got a raise last week and finally was able to meet with the company president to go over the details. He mentioned he was really impressed with my self starting and motivated attitude. It was nice to hear.

I spent the last 2 hours handing out waters to the guys fighting a field/bale/silage fire; therefore a lot of thank-you and smiles. And when I got home and walked past my daughter she took one sniff and said I made her hungry. She's been sick all week so I'm taking that as a compliment.

"Rare find" , "she's a keeper for life" and "never let her go!" Lol!!!
"Rockstar" (after several days of long hours and grueling work for a client that had the most excellent outcome)

I was recently told by a younger coworker I am 'dressing younger and younger'.
My son told me that my memory was improving, "have you been taking vitamins?"
ah... I'll take them, mixed messages or not!

I'm going away for the weekend with my women's group. There is anew lady who is coming. I have only had one conversation with her previously but she called me today, getting cold feet because she doesn't know anyone, etc. we had a really good conversation. I felt kind of guilty because I would typically try to get to know anybody new, but during this season I just don't feel like I have as much to give. (Truthfully the only reason i started talking to her last time was because I knew she was coming on the trip and wanted to welcome her). She said "that's a lie that you don't have much to give! It's quality instead of quantity. I have talked with you twice and both times you helped me a lot." ❤

I was starting to come down with a cold last week and a member of my household said, "Oh no! We are all doomed if you get sick!" I guess maybe she really does appreciate the things I do around here! I'm happy to report that I did get the cold and everyone survived!

One of my much younger co-workers asked me today what kind of makeup/skin care products I used because...and I am going to quote here because my 50 year old self will live on this compliment for a LONG LONG TIME...wait for it...she said 'your skin is flawless.' (I think she may need to get her eyes checked...but frankly, I will take the compliment and run with it. )

My DD19 got a tattoo of the word "EMPOWER". In my handwriting. It literally throws me because she is one who empowers me. She is such a fight for others girl. Always has been.
I've never wanted a tattoo but have been thinking of getting the same in her handwriting.

I saw the dermatologist today (annual skin check). Last year, she told me that I have really nice skin-- she was examining my shoulders at the time-- and that was news to me because I've got (to me) a lot of freckles and spots from some years of bad sun exposure when I was a kid. But it made me pleased because I would never in a million years have thought of myself as having nice skin.
But she's the derm, so she would know.

DD told me I make the best cookies in the world. Ds12's teacher baked cookies for the class for Valentine's Day. He ate his when he got home. He took a bite and declared it the best cookie he ever ate. And he doesn't give out compliments easily. He told me he didn't want to tell his teacher or for me to tell her, but I had to. I swore her to secrecy.

I get compliments just about every day at the gym on my arms and legs. But when I look in the mirror all I see is a belly that's not flat enough! Guess I need to stop being so hard on myself and see the good.

Ds 21 and I went to a music jam and lunch at a friend's house last Saturday. One of the listeners recorded us singing together and posted a couple of tunes on FB. Got some awfully nice feedback.

My ds refuses to say I'm the best mom because he hasn't surveyed everyone in the world, so how would we know for sure?
