I am challenging myself to print my photos more often, like monthly. I usually wait and then I have so many to go through, edit, and order that I am cranky about it. I get cranky when I edit and print my photos too. I don't scrap chronologically or pull my photos that way either and it's been getting to be a huge conundrum. I had a system in excel but it wasn't working. I've decided that I have to edit and print chronologically, even if I don't scrap that way. I just started going through my folders from January of 2017 the other day. I'll worry about 2016 and prior some other time. I realized that I could still use excel, but I need all of my dates to be chronological so instead of a spot for digital layouts, traditional layouts, etc all separate, I now have just one sheet that is kept chronologically by date of the photo. It also includes the story or notes including if it's a different size than my normal, the sizes & number of photos, and how I'm telling it (pl styled pocket page; Traditional, Digital, Project Life App), I have a column for layout completed and for photos printed. Y if they're printed, x if they're edited & waiting, and - if I still need to go edit them. After I get completely caught up, I'll have to make time each week so it's not such a chore to do. Of course, I've said that before. Seems like a lot of work when I just want to play with pretty paper and tell stories, but I'm hoping it will work for me this time.

My ds has a spin art thing that needs 5x5" paper. You drip paint in the top. We've also been using markers. Well, he needed paper, I have lots of patterned paper scraps that are white on the back. Match made in heaven. And I have no guilt "getting rid of" those scraps. LavenderLayoutLady, I have the same issue for zoo pages, my solution, just don't do them. If you find a solution let me know. Also, my dd has one of those spin art things, so brilliant suggestion! Linda, I'm glad your pain has subsided!

anniefb, just wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you. I've been busy and don't know if you posted when your surgery was or not. I hope it went well and that you are quickly on the mend.

I'm glad you asked, LisaDV. I'm happy to hear your recovery is going well, anniefb. I was thinking about you and refugeepea this morning and hoping you're both doing well after your surgeries. I don't know if this is the right place for this but I've been missing iheartpaper. I haven't seen her around in a while and I hope she's OK.

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I've been missing iheartpaper. I haven't seen her around in a while and I hope she's OK. Totally agree. Her DS went back to work and she had scheduled her surgery for when her oldest dd was home for spring break, but I don't know when that was. I hope she's ok as well.

anniefb - glad it went well and you're on the mend iheartpaper -thinking of you as well I caught up DD17's Senior/Ambassador GS album (3 years done, she's about to start the 4th and final year) I ordered a gazzillion photos...okay maybe not quite but about 300 - a few for DD10's Brownie album that I've just started but missed printing; caught up on the June 2017 photo printing; and ordered the photos from DS's trip to Tokoyo (that was the bulk of them) One layout done for the Brownie album and just the journalling left on a second

I got started on my vacation album this afternoon. It's a challenge because I'm using so many pictures in an 8x8 but it's a fun challenge. There's not much room for embellishing but that will help me move along faster.

One week left to go in the month. Are you on target to reach your goals? June Goals: Still have lots to do outside and other projects. So these may be lofty, but they need to get completed. - double check photos downloaded from phone are all saved to computer. (completed 6/2) - delete photos from phone that are downloaded properly (completed 6/2) - continue downloading photos from my dh's iphone to save on my computer (started in May) - complete my banner swap items ( 3 2 different banner swaps) - create at least 3 2 layouts (1 completed) - create 1 card per dh's requestI haven't touch dh's iphone photos all month. I won't be doing it this month. I did start another project of going through 2017 photos starting at January 1st and deciding what's happening with them, if traditional or project life or pocket page styled, editing the photos for printing. I'm through 3/27. But for the next week I think I need to concentrate on my 2 layouts and my banner swaps when I have down time. I think that's part of the problem though. I have little uninterrupted down time this month, the banners need a larger chunk of uninterrupted time to do. And I've been putting off the layouts until I can get the banners completed.

I wanted to be better faster after surgery but as I look back now it was such a short period of time in the big picture that I wish I would have slowed down and let myself have that down time.

One week left to go in the month. Are you on target to reach your goals? Well, if I got really busy with my mini album I could finish it. That was my goal. I don't think it will happen but I will enjoy working on it no matter how much I get done. The lazy days of summer mentality is in full effect and I'm ok with that.

Other than intentionally skipping our vacation (photos are finally set up, though), I'm about to be done with PL through where I've printed photos. I just went through everything from May 1st through yesterday and picked pictures to print...next is the worst part...editing. Fingers crossed I can get an order put in this weekend. I know I said that I was going to try and order bi-weekly, but I knew I had a ways to catch up and intentionally delayed it. Since I'm running out of current photos (nevermind the 2 years of PL I'm nowhere near done with), it was time to sit down and start.
This part really sucks, lol.

I've been terrible at completing my goals lately so I'm going to aim for * 10 layouts* print some additional photos for any of my projects in progress * make my May month in review pagesI've done pretty well towards my goals. I've definitely made more than 10 layouts so far this month and today is another cold day that is perfect for scrapping so I hope to do a few more pages. Once I get off these boards I'm going to start sorting out which photos I want to print next so I can safely say I'll meet all my goals this month.

One week left to go in the month. Are you on target to reach your goals? Good question - maybe if I buckle down and DO it overall goal - at least 50 layouts 41 so far smaller goals? -catch up through May in the 2017 album DONE -make some progress on the Brownie GS album IN PROGRESS -catch up the high school album (freshman-Junior year) -make cards to send to camp for DD10 DONE -work on Senior/Ambassador GS album DONE - it's caught up (2014-2017) -keep Junior GS album updated DONE through end of May ordered 294 pictures this week - mostly but not entirely from DS's trip to Tokoyo. Working on sorting into layouts at the moment - Legoland Japan is overwhelming me...and I only printed a fraction of what he took. Hoping to get that done tonight and go back to scrapping tomorrow

Photos through today ordered! If there are any others I take that I want to print from today, I'll just print them here at home unless I place another order before I catch up on these ones in PL. I'm kind of liking having a couple of months to work with at a time. It saves me money (14 cents instead of 17 cents per print) and it actually doesn't take that long to batch process 100-150 pictures. If my Mom hadn't been visiting one of those weeks and we didn't have my son's kinder graduation, it would have been even quicker than that.

Chinagirl828, Great job! Linda, you can do it! You're so close to your goal! scrapaddict702, awe. Kinder graduation! Reminds me of the little preschool ceremony my kids had. I miss that age. Now they're surly tween/teen. Enjoy.

Mojo was with me last night, and almost finished my nine zoo layout pages. I pushed myself to use three stamps from a Target Spot $3 set that I bought a couple months ago.
I also started and finished a birthday layout for my dd's album. I used the whole rest of a sticker sheet, silver star confetti, and blue & red enamel dots. I love it so much.
I'm hoping my July scrapping is really productive.

Tomorrow is the last day of the month. Already??? The only scrap related thing I've done the past week is glance at my scrap desk as I walk by.
How are you all doing with your June goals?

How are you all doing with your June goals? I scrapped a lot more than I thought I would. This week: I finished 9 zoo pages for my own album. 4 more for my kids' albums. Did a layout about myself. Did a birthday layout. I still need/want to: Take a pic of my dd in a specific shirt for her school album. Photograph the big art from my DS's past school year that came home at the end of the year. Order June photos.

I just read through everyone's goals for the month and realized I hadn't put mine together. This is one month I think I might actually achieve them. (OK, now I've just doomed myself!) 1) Replenish stash of thank you cards (4 designs x 8) 2) Mail box of 20 cards to this month's Ronald McDonald House 3) Create cards for this month's Cards for a Cause 4) Mail box of 20 cards to Cards for a Cause 5) Use this month's CD Daisy Dori as a page-a-day memory keeper. I've taken photos every day so far and even have most of the layouts for the first 2 days done. This could happen this month. Update 1) Replenish stash of thank you cards (4 designs x 8). I'm going to count this as done. I've made up kits to work on tomorrow at crafty day.2) Mail box of 20 cards to this month's Ronald McDonald House . DONE3) Create cards for this month's Cards for a Cause. DONE4) Mail box of 20 cards to Cards for a Cause . DONE5) Use this month's CD Daisy Dori as a page-a-day memory keeper. I've taken photos every day so far and even have most of the layouts for the first 2 days done. This could happen this month. BUT IT DIDN'TDespite a failure on #5, this is still the best I've done in a long time!

I finished my blue ridge parkway album yesterday. Kind of sad. It was very enjoyable. My favorite picture I had to display on my dining room table for a while. I gave myself 1st prize again for best photo of trip.
