I'm a 26 year old woman living in Los Angeles, from Connecticut and went to school in Boston I found your forum because I go on a mostly young womans forum. We've been together for ~15 and most of us are in our 20s and 30s, with the occasional male and older member. Welcome! Wow, you guys have been together since you were 11? Yes, we found each other on a forum that was for a magazine for young women ... I joined when I was 11 exactly after seeing a thread about One Tree Hill after taking a quiz of "Does he really like you?" on the main page lol

Hi Courtney! Your forum that you have had for so long sounds amazing! Peas is like that, I've been here 15 plus years now...hard to believe. I'm in Korea, my youngest just turned 16, she was a baby when I joined.
It is true that everything you need or want or need to know does end up here- even my husband says "ask the peas".
Welcome!

I've only posted a couple of times but can tell I have some contrary opinions lol Welcome Courtney! "Contrary opinions"? Contrary to what, exactly? This place is not a monolith - as you can see from all the great responses of Peas from all over the world at all ages, family situations, religions, etc. OK - mostly women, but even there, we have some men members. Take, for example, the RV thread on which you posted. Lots of "contrary opinions" there - some saying the request is rude, some saying cover the RV from view, some saying ask nicely, etc. So, happy reading and learning.

Hi Courtney, I am another international Pea. I am from Canada. You need to know that once you step foot in here you won't leave. EVER! You can try and people have, but they always come back. You've been warned. This is the most fun you've ever had online. Believe us.

I get keeping a pop up telling me I have no threads and don't know how to get rid of it unless I post a thread I guess So why not a get to know you? I'm a 26 year old woman living in Los Angeles, from Connecticut and went to school in Boston I found your forum because I go on a mostly young womans forum. We've been together for ~15 and most of us are in our 20s and 30s, with the occasional male and older member. One of the male members found your site by accident, we are also on pro forums, and told us that y'all were us in the future. I've been kinda following y'all and figured I should post too. Please feel free to ask me anything. I'm an open book. I've only posted a couple of times but can tell I have some contrary opinions lol Welcome, I look forward to debating with you. Fair warning, my response to you is going to be tempered by the RV thread. First, a bit about me. I choose to stay pretty vague on the internet, but I'm mid-30's, married with no kids, from a state that apparently only hates (according to you on the RV thread), which is probably closer to accurate than not, but extremely off-putting when coming from a 26 year old who has spent zero time living in the flyover states. Second, a few things about this board you should know. The NSBR comes from a defunct scrapbooking company's message board. Many of the Peas have been together for about 10-15 years. Our unofficial motto is, "NSBR ain't for sissies". Our debates can get pretty heated and if you don't have a thick skin, you will probably get your feelings hurt. We have had a fair amount of trolls and alter egos here, so being new and obviously opinionated, your motives and identity will probably get questioned at first by a few people. Don't take it personally...that will stop as you make yourself known around the board. Finally, although you rubbed me kind of wrong on the RV thread, I'm genuinely happy to see new blood on the forum who isn't afraid to jump in. I'm glad you're here.

Don't worry, I don't scare easily...my original forum has scared off members for 15 years and I survived. But now it is a group of people who are very much the same, so there is very little controversy. I've met irl over 10 ppl from that forum, including some irl friendships, and have gained so much from being with them. I don't know what the future holds for me here, but I hope I can gain some perspective or friendships

I have a bucket list of Peas I want to meet someday as well. I joined the Peas when I was about your age, and I have learned a ton here. Not just different perspectives, but life hacks, recipes, cool gadgets, etc. One of the best things about this board is that because of the wide age range (I think the oldest member I've seen here is in her 70s) and backgrounds, there's a lot of life experience to be shared.

Welcome, Courtney!! QUESTION: Was it a big adjustment moving from up northeast, to southwest??? I'm a New Yorker and DH and I moved down to FL 6 years ago. I swear, I never adjusted to it here. The temps landed me in the E.R. a few times, and there's just too much of a difference between both places. We're trying to move back up north (despite the massive snowstorms, etc...).
QUESTION #2 (if I'm permitted to ask more than 1 question): Do you still have your family up in CT??? Do you miss them? Do you go see them?? Will they come to CA to see you (I'd imagine so, since it's so beautiful).
Good luck in CA, and welcome to the 2Peas Refugees!

Very important questions. Do you own any kitten heels? Do you feel strongly about them? Do you return your carts to the corral? Do you use crock pot liners? Are you a fan of cocoa nut oil? Have you ever eaten a cupcake off the sidewalk? Have you ever pooped in a pool? Do you have guest towels? Are guests allowed to use them? Shoes... inside or not?
How you answer these questions, will determine your acceptance into the group.

This is an important Pea dividing line.

hi, courtney ! Not on-topic, but I just have to say it's kind of cool that people are just 'randomly' finding us... since the site started as a result of a scrapbooking website with message boards shutting down, and most of us are a result of that migration. And hey, if you're interested in scrapbooking or crafting at all, check out the General Scrapbooking / Stamping Board, lol!! (scrapbooking isn't dying, no matter what you might have heard to the contrary-- if you've ever even heard of it at all-- and I'm always happy to do my part towards spreading the word about the many benefits of scrapbooking, memory keeping, and crafting in general.) I've never even checked out any of the other Pro Boards forums- maybe I should look around! Anyway, now I'm finally off to read the actual thread topic; again, welcome!! eta: so, I forgot to answer your question... I came here to NSBR by way of the scrapbooking world, from the original message board. I've been here for at least 10-15 years, and was one of those sissies originally scared of the topics talked about on the NSBR board, lol. I'm 48, and I am a transplanted small-town Midwesterner (northern Illinios) now living in the Sonoran Desert south of Phoenix. I live here with my boyfriend of 13.5 years, our three Shelties, and three rescue cats. I'm socially liberal and believe in universal health care, my boyfriend is a (misguided, in my opinion) Trump supporter; both of those things color my posts about politics. I personally do not worry about foot flushing or germs, think the shower is for showering, NOT peeing, I cook with cream of mushroom soup (gasp!), and most of the time I return my cart to the corral in the grocery store parking lot.

I have a toilet right next to the show I use before I wash my towels weekly, I have 4, usually use one for my body once or twice before washing... I have hair towels that I use also I learned Haiku in HS but have no idea anymore lol

Yes I always put them in the corral in the parking lot I never use a crockpot Yes Coconut oil rocks for so many things! No off the sidewalk food Never pooped in a pool, but have peed tbh Duh to guest towels! Use them, not mine! I usually wear my shoes inside until I get to my bedroom then take them off

I don't think I'll ever move back! I still have family in CT. My parents and sister live there... but my parents will likely retire and move in the next 5 years. I went and visited them over Xmas and will see them again in August and likely Xmas again. They came to CA to visit in March and it was a lot of fun! My brother lives out here too, so it's nice they can come and visit both of us.

Welcome Courtney : )
Waving from Los Angeles by way of the East Coast (Manhattan). I came here by way of being a scrapbook poser (i.e. not particularly talented or committed). NSBR used to be a much more cut-throat place but it has mellowed through the years. I've learned a lot here about silly things like merkins (look it up at your own peril) and more serious things like overly zealous HOAs.
I have a partner (aka husband), two daughters, a cat and a dog (both male). My neighborhood feels like suburbia to me, but my neighbor from Taos, NM was thrilled to be living in the city...so go figure. I try to like more than I post and ask questions Google can't answer. I am addicted to the "Everything but the Bagel" sprinkle from Trader Joe's and have been considering posting a thread about it.
Do you live near the beaches?
