Ali's "lifestyle release": linkPlease read her blog post about sizes, too, if you're interested. She's wearing a XXL in one of the shirts, which makes me think it might fit children better. :X Sorry! I didn't see your post when I was posting lol. How in the world is she in an XXL when that's supposed to be for sizes 18-20? I'm 5'6", 155 pounds, and a size 12 in pants. I wear a large tshirt from J.C. Penney. No way on earth is ali a 2x. They are really smoking something over there. And the tote bags?? Wtf.

Didn't participants in the recent workshop receive a goody bag, possibly filled with branded items? And maybe some folks asked if such things were available to purchase... Not my kind of style at all, never mind that I have "a thing" about her handwriting (I know...) But who can blame her for seizing the moment? (especially if she needed to order a few hundred of something... )

People are praising Ali for providing larger sizes on her Facebook post...Oh there are going to be some disappointed people when they get their XXL shirt that says it's for 18-20 but is tight on Ali, who is NOT a size 18-20.
They say that the white tee runs small but have the same size chart for all three tops.
And the prices are ridiculous. $16 for a canvas tote? $15 for a canvas pencil bag? And $35 for the fucking tank top?
No fucking thanks.

Is it just me who finds a $15 pencil case that says "It's Not About the Stuff, It's about the Story" really hypocritical...

I can (and sometimes do if I like the tshirt) wear an XXL in kids (which does equate to a kids 18-20).

I kinda want the stories mug, but wouldn't order unless I'm ordering other products like DD or something. If the scrappy market it shrinking (or maybe changing is a more accurate way to thinking about it), expanding her brand/market makes sense from a business perspective as Sleepingbooty did such a great job of articulating. There's a lot more people in the world who will buy a mug then a scrapbooking kit. I think the weird thing about our hobby is it feels like you get to know these women and that's why it can feel manipulative in a way that being marketed too by Target doesn't. For me, I try to think about where I want to put my financial support and mindful about my spending. It doesn't always happen, but I do try. I am guilty of Amazon-ing a lot of things so I can be lazy.

I'm also going to add...and this might or might not be unrelated...the pics of her and Aaron in bed make me uncomfortable. lol. I'm so not prudish or uptight, but something about them always grabs my attention. Like I'm seeing something I'm not supposed to. I'm sure much could be written on how pics like those increase interest in a person and her brand. I agree about the bed pix. I'm no prude either but it's icky opening up IG to see a photo of them "alone and doing what we do". Ok, you got laid. Who cares. And I'm supposed to support her because she's a woman? No thanks. Yes. It feels like we are pervy interlopers peeking into an intimate personal moment. Awkward. I am most definitely not a prude. I do believe some things are private like intimate half naked bedroom pics. Kind of shocked each time she does it. It's starting to make me think she has no shame. Anything for an insta like?

I've got a new BF, and he's cooler than you! But I'm surrounded by teenage instagramers... surely her motives are more mature.

I also think most kids would be MORTIFIED to see pictures of their parents in bed with someone. I assume her kids are not on social media yet, but good heavens I sure wouldn't want my kids to see pictures like that. I know she isn't showing anything, or even saying it is anything but napping, but still a whole lot is implied and it icks me out a bit.

My boys would have moved out of the house had I posted any bedtime photos. Perhaps her family is just used to what she posts. She makes a living on posting daily pictures, so she is keeping true to her brand/job. While I'm not a fan, it really isn't big on my radar.

Actually, I more wonder about the "other women" than the kids. Like her ex-husband's new wife, and her current fiance's ex-wife. It must be weird for them too to some degree. Especially since her fiance's ex-wife might have her own ideas of what is or is not appropriate on a public, somewhat widely read IG feed, on which her kids now play a part.

First Heidi and Julianne (Juliette?) the dancer, now Amy Tangerine and Reese. Maybe these scrapers will make it mainstream. I don't think Heidi will ever foresaw the scrapbook industry, it might help us.

Wasn't there a scrapbooking scene in Reese's show in Netflix? Maybe AT was the scrap wrangler. We should check the credits.

Thank you to all who wrote about wearing T-shirts with words after the age of 40. I loved the replies. I hope my original message did not come off snarky. I was not trying to convey that at all. Managing fashion after the age of 40 has been my biggest challenge. I was very curious. I don't think I am one who can pull off T-shirts with sayings. I admire all of you who can. Also very sorry for late replies. I have several big projects with deadlines that were on top of each other. I was shutting down and stressing out. I had to turn off social media for the past couple of weeks to get done.
I hope Ali's new line does well for her.

I don't know if I am pulling it off or if I just don't care. . 75% of my t-shirts have sayings of some sort on them. We travel often, and I usually get a t-shirt. I wear t-shirts six days a week when it is warm.

So Amy is leaving LA for England to teach a class. She posted this picture. It's not her house, just a random shot of her walking down the sidewalk with a pink suitcase in front of a California cool house. I don't get it. Why the random house that you then have to explain isn't your house. And i hope that's not what she's wearing on the flight. She'll freeze on the plane and when she arrives. I'm calling it **fake news**

I followed her for about 5 minutes a year or so ago and knew pretty quick that I had no interest in her. Seems so fake and pretentious.

It's a cute photo. If it's not her house, it exemplifies style over substance. I don't follow her, or many bloggers, but when I do I like a little grit.
On the other hand, I don't mind when professional bloggers make their house a prop and stage it for posting.

If it's not her house, it exemplifies style over substance. I don't follow her, or many bloggers, but when I do I like a little grit. That's more than likely a leftover "promo shot" as I seem to remember Amy promoting that pink suitcase on her IG earlier this year. She just picks homemade "stock photos" featuring herself to "tell the story of today." This is a typical everyday social media strategy for these lifestyle bloggers whose income depends on how great and polished their feed looks. They counterbalance this complete lack of authenticity by using the disposable en ephemereal tools social media offer these days (like Stories on IG and Amy's airport and airplane Stories show her wearing something warmer than a tank top). It's a dual system in which a literally picture perfect image is contrasted by a non feed-polluting "true" (that's obviously also debatable) self which is a reward only revealed to those who follow and check said blogger's account daily (frequent interactivity incentive to build to build a loyal, trusting follower base which is the key to turning your followers into recurring customers AKA what will land you sponsors and "partnerships"). As someone whose work is heavily based around social media strategies, I'd advise against such obvious staging of one's feed. But hey, what do I know? I'm only a professional.
