Tonight we might go out to dinner. I can sip a beverage and just enjoy social time w/my family. If not I might make chicken mozzarella pasta. Youngest ds has been requesting it for a week now.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful day.

<<Still under a stupid boil water notice. (Since Wednesday!!!) I am still annoyingly grumpy. I am not really sure about food though. I have plenty-I just am not sure I want to get in the kitchen and do my weekly prep/cooking. Why you may ask? Because of the aforementioned never ending boil water thing...and having to clean up after my marathon weekly cooking projects. It will end though, right??

As per usual on a Sunday, our main meal was lunch today. DH did chicken on the grill, and we also had pesto pasta salad and a caprese salad. All very yum and fresh. I'm getting ready to head out to my SnB meetup, where I will enjoy a glass of wine and a dessert of some sort, depending on what they have this week. anxiousmom - we were once under a boil water order for nearly two weeks, at a time when I had young children who really didn't understand why they couldn't just get a drink of water from the tap. It was a total pain and I was so glad when it was over.

We're having (low carb) waffles, eggs and bacon. It's a favorite around my house.

Rainy day, so I made autumn soup (vegetable soup with bacon). My ear still hurt, so I might call the doctor tomorrow to see if I can get stronger painkillers until it gets better.

Well it's either going to be tacos or hamburgers. Which is will be depends on whether DH feels like cooking. Hamburgers are on him and tacos are on me.
I'm pleased to report his happy attitude is back today. He got a good night sleep and our morning is going nicely.

I am going to the beach this afternoon. Snacky stuff to eat followed by some food prepared by someone else (restaurant). Happy Sunday to my fellow peas.

I'm grilling today. Dinner is marinated steak tips with potatoes and green beans done in foil packets. I bought over 6 pounds of boneless chicken breasts which have been marinating for a few hours. I'm going to light the grill in a minute and get them all grilled then seal them up and freeze them in individual size serving packages.

The power went out in our entire area of British Columbia last night right around dinner time so I didn't cook anything ... our condo has an electric flat top range and it was too dark in there anyway ... Luckily, the town just to the south of us had power so we went to a restaurant there ... I had calamari with tzatziki (sp?) sauce ... it was tasty - especially since someone else cooked it By the time we got back to the condo the power had been restored Unfortunately, I was without internet until about two hours ago ... the horror Tonight I'll make the Creamy Chicken Piccata that I planned for last night

He changed the schedule on me like he always does. LOL. Tonight we are having lamb chops and DS will get a steak. (Lamb is too gamey for him.) There will be salad, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes as we all like them.

DH and I walked early this morning then hit Lowe's to return something then hit Farmer's Market and walked around. Didn't buy anything as I just wanted to scope it out for future trips. Need to go to Raley's to decide what's for dinner. We're at the start of a big heat wave.

We also need more lettuce so I think I will get another butter lettuce and make my famous salad. I am looking forward to it tonight! I will roast some pecans and put in some craisins. (I hope we still have some). Failing that I have strawberries!

As y'all may have noticed, I've been trying to clear out our freezers for quite awhile now - I think I'm finally making some progress. The reason for the clear out is we're moving and will be taking the freezers with; I'm trying real hard not to have to throw anything away! Jeez, what an overwhelming ordeal this is!! I've lived here for 44 yrs, the original owner; DH has been here for about 35. Needless to say, we've accumulated enough stuff to outfit three families! It's a long distance move (from MD to SC) and we've been purging for-what-seems-like-ever and making slooooow progress. The photographer is coming tomorrow and I expect the house to go on the market for showing shortly. So, with that being said, I may be in and out of here spottily... depending on what's happening that particular day. Plus, we still have beaucoup crap to sort through and get ready for the movers. It's probably going to be about two months before everything is signed, sealed, and delivered. However, today's dinner is taken care of... found some t-bones from last year in said freezer that we're having with a baked potato and green salad.

It will be tacos for us tonight. Beef tacos for him and black bean for me. Easy meal! I took my mom out to lunch today for her belated birthday celebration and then I've been lazying about all afternoon. Summer ends this evening Tomorrow I'm back to school for pre-planning. Honestly, it's like pulling off the proverbial band aid. Once I get that first day behind me, I'm ok.

So, Friday night, ds got a huge bolt in his tire. He was only around the block, so he made it home fine, but the tire went flat. Yesterday, dh and ds had a softball tournament, so when we got home, after dinner, they went out to try to put the spare on. They couldn't get the lug nuts off, so we called AAA. The driver came, made a half-assed effort, using just a 4-way, which is what we had already tried (along with a couple other things.) He kind of shrugged and told us to call AAA this morning for a tow. (Mind you, he had a tow truck).
So, this morning, dh was able to get 4 out of 5 lug nuts off, but the fifth one wouldn't budge no matter what. We finally conceded to calling the tow truck again. Guy comes, asks where we want to take it, then suggests Wal-Mart because they could likely get it done today. He tows it to Wal-Mart. They write up the ticket, I tell them the issue with the lugnut, because we already know it's stripped and they are going to have to break the stem. They call 10 minutes after we get home to tell us that they would have to break the stem and they don't do that. They said they would fill it with air and we should have no issues driving the three miles to the tire store.
Dh and ds made it 2 miles before the tire blew and came off the rim. Third call to AAA, a different tow company because we are in a different city. Another tow to the tire store. So, ds had to arrange three rides for tomorrow, and I will have to be late for work tomorrow so I can drop the keys at the tire store.
None of that has anything to do with dinner, which was a rigatoni, Italian sausage and peppers recipe that dh requested for father's day. Better six weeks late than never!!

Holy moly, you guys have a lot going on this weekend. Hope the sick/injured people feel better, the stressed people get everything taken care of headache-free, the ones going out have a nice dinner, etc. We celebrated my son's birthday with brunch at Chevy's, which, of course, I got to pay for. It's the one time each year I take his family, his in-laws, and my family out to eat, and it cost about $100 less than last year's dinner at Olive Garden and tasted better, so I was happy. Chicken posole, people! Great stuff. We filled up on that. The 8yo tried menudo, even though I told him what's in it. I had told him his late grandpa loved it, so he was willing to taste it. um, not a hit. For dinner I just threw one of those Knorr's rice packs on the stove (broccoli & cheese or something like that) and added fresh broccoli, cooked chicken, and stirred in shredded cheddar at the end. He loved it last time but you know how that goes. However, he loved it again and ate more of it than I did. With soy sauce, of course. Now we're eating Big Sticks because it's still hot outside.

I ran around all day and painted another cost on the bathroom walls. I'm covering up lime green. We drove around ruling out streets to give a realtor a list. Not sure if we are really going to move but I have to humor dh. We had ham beans and mozzarella salad for dinner. Iranfge sherbet and strawberries for dessert.

I made Ina Garten's recipe for meatloaf and the dang thing fell totally apart. I let it sit before trying to slice it, too. It was delicious crumbled meat though.
