**GypsyGirl** she reminds me of Michelle Pfeiffer, but surely I'm wrong! Serious blush contouring on those cheekbones! I just got a deal- a classic Blenko pitcher. The one that's square in profile with the little spouts on the raised neck. $3 at thrift store. ETA I didn't realize it was called a water bottle: shop.blenko.com/384-Water-Bottle-384.htmIt makes me nostalgic. Was a must have, always used item for neighborhood moms when I was a kid. Ooh, what color? I am always on the lookout for those. I've only found a clear one so far, but it was about the same price as yours at Goodwill. It's one of my favorite finds. I would love a clear one! This is gold /amber but not as deep or brown as I remember from the 70s. I hope to look it up soon to verify.

I'll admit I didn't know either, but if you read the listing information they point it out there. So basically...I cheated! I found an Arabia of Finland milk pitcher with the yellow bull design for $3.99. I had to google to see what this was as I'm not familiar with Arabia of Finland. Wow! Cute stuff - and you got a really good deal. Will have to add that to my list of things to look for.

Went to an antique auction last night and picked up 23 Beautiful cups and saucers for coworker whose DD is having the tea party baby shower. She already has enough but these are beyond amazing. The colors and shapes were so different. paid $10 for all. Will post picture when I get to a computer. Don't see option on my phone.

I subscribe to an estate sale website and get updates each week. Usually they are just the run of the mill old furniture, kitchen stuff and clothes. Today I saw one listed that is a collector of all kinds of stuff downsizing. Some really cool stuff like vintage toys and dolls. However, I don't recall ever seeing Ghost Hunting Equipment listed for sale! They also have Ghostbuster games and toys. Someone really, really likes ghosts! If any of you are in the market for ghost items, I can point you in the right direction! What's the strangest thing you've found - or seen advertised - at an estate sale?

What's the strangest thing you've found - or seen advertised - at an estate sale? Just last week we saw a sign for an estate sale as we were out driving, so I pulled up the listing and photos on Estate Sale Finder to see if it was worth stopping. Just as we arrived, the photos of things like funerary candelabras, and a quilt with swastikas on it came up on my phone. I had the creepiest feeling, but it looked like a normal suburban house on a sunny day, so we went in. There was hardly anything left, though the candelabras were there. There were many self-help books, psychology books and books on Judaica, including cooking, poetry, family relationships etc. I'm very curious about the people who lived there, but I guess I will never know. I did actually buy one thing, a children's book--"Llama, Llama, Mad at Mama".

My ten year old nephew is obsessed with all things MAD. (Don't ask!! I think the subject matter in the magazines and books are a bit mature, but he is an extremely bright and quirky kid. He even draws his own comic series.) Two months ago, at Good Will, I found seven vintage paperback books for 89 cents each. He was thrilled to add to his growing collection. A couple weeks ago I was looking at an on-line auction of antiques, and noticed a single lot of MAD and National Lampoon magazines from the seventies. I ended up winning and got 22 MAD magazines for $10!!! I gave them to him on Tuesday and he was ecstatic Gotta keep my favorite aunt status!

You should keep an eye out for the Mad Magazine board game, you have to lose al your money to win. It is very well done and has all the classic Mad Magazine elements. Would definitely enrich your favorite aunt status!

I went to a Value Billage today and got all sorts of treasures. Some really nice Ravensburger games (all complete and in great condition) a really cool discovery toys set of wooden bear dominoes with stairs, bridges and accessories, a discovery toys set of nice pattern insects with cards, and a whole slew of books. Mo Willems, Dr. Seuss, PD Eastman, Frances (the badger), The Aminal, Richard Scarry, and a whole bunch of other books I love that no one else has pretty baby heard of, but I am super excited about.
I haven't been in awhile and I was pleasantly surprised. I easily bought 30 books, 99 cents each, and most are hardback. Oh, the best one I got was the Dr. Seuss "All About Me Book" that is to be filled on by a child, I have seen this book several times but it is usually partially filled in, this one was completely blank and in perfect condition. I am so excited to have this one for a certain little kid I love! I figure we can work on a few pages at a time when we are together. I have my own copy from over 35 years ago!

I lucked out at Goodwill today and found a pink quilted Burberry jacket (lined in Burberry plaid) for $10. Perfect fit. Apparently no one is looking for jackets in Phoenix this time of year.

Apparently no one is looking for jackets in Phoenix this time of year. ^^^ this is always the best time to look for sweaters and jackets here!! I've gotten some great deals on these items during the summer. I haven't done any thrifting lately, but yesterday I did take a bunch of stuff to a used book store-- I had four boxes of books, magazines, and crafting / scrapbook supplies, and the only items they wanted out of it all was just THREE magazines! (I got a whole $1.50 in store credit for them... pretty poor return.) I ended up taking the stuff to the Goodwill next door and just donating it to take the tax writeoff. My local SB store is going out of business, after more than 10-15 years in business ( ) and they're selling all their fixtures and display items along with the store's product inventory. In addition to some paper and other supplies, I also bought two standing, hinged displays for SB pages-- one for three 12x12 pages, and one for four 12x12 pages. I have always wanted a way to display some of my SB pages out of the album, so these displays may go on the fireplace mantel, or they might live in my SB room.
