In my world there is no "owe". I don't send to receive, i send because I like to make people happy when they get snail mail. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes to this attitude. I send cards because I enjoy making them, and I love brightening someone's day. Everyone is welcome. Do what you can. If you can send to everyone, great! However, I understand that life and health issues (like arthritis and SAD) can flare up and impact the ability to participate. Please let that guilt go!

Hi I seND out the list to everyone who signed up. You choose how many/who to send to and viola....your mailbox fills with joy. They can be handmade or store bought. I believe last year we had 120 and about 20 were international. So, could you potentially not get any cards if no one chooses you from the list? I'm in Canada and have received 60 to 80+ cards both years I've participated. Not exactly sure on the number now but there was lots of cards. Some choose not to send internationally because of cost, I still recieved plenty.

I only write Merry Christmas on the inside. Please join! I'd love to send you a Christmas card!! You only send what you're able, be that 0 or 5 or 1/2 or all. For those that need to watch finances, others start buying stamps now to spread out the cost over a few months.

I'm definitely doing it again this year! I think it will be my third time. I had planned to start making my cards this summer, guess how many I have made? Zero!! I need to start thinking about it and setting a plan in action!

When did we say the sign ups would be? I know the weather here is still pretty good - we're getting some rain & it's cooler, but it's actually at this point a nice reprieve from the over the top heat - so if I could get started addressing it would help me be prepared to mail in November.

I'm not going to sign up this year. Sorry but I totally flaked last year. My apologies to everyone and thanks to those who sent me cards. If I can manage it, I'll send to some of the names from last year's list, but I don't want anyone to send me cards because I am undeserving. My problem isn't cards ... I have plenty and enjoy making them. My problem is the freakin' arthritis in my hands that makes it hard for me to hand-write addresses. grrrrrr ... could you print the labels? If the list is in a spread sheet it's pretty easy to do. In case you really want to do it.

I had no idea! I thought it was like a cookie swap.
You would swap with others and end up with so many card that you could then send out.
I am totally participating this year!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who said she was going to start making cards early in the year and has none done still lol!!! I sent to everyone last year and hope to do the same this year! I think i may do more than one card of each design this year though to speed it up! If anyone does a template for the labels this year I would love a copy ...it was a lifesaver last year and I could not figure out how to do it on my own!!!I will have to set a reminder to sign up on the 1st!!!

Ok you guys are getting me interested in MAKING cards this year. I have never made cards. So what all is involved? I can't remember how many years I have done the card swap. But from the first one we had. I didn't do it one year and really missed it, as did my family.

I did the exchange for the first time 2 years ago. DH ended up in the hospital most of December, and working on cards while watching him sleep all day was such a welcome distraction. Coming home to cards in the mail was a blessing. We only put up a crappy table top tree, but my 2Peas cards were displayed everywhere, and they brought us much needed holiday cheer, and it really renewed my spirit to be able to send to everyone. Last year I couldn't afford an extra stamp with DH hospital bills, and we have slightly better decent insurance. I am looking forward to participating this year, under happier circumstances.
If you are having a hard time right now, sign up. Commit to sending a couple of cards, even if it's just to members on the list you interact with. The holidays are especially hard for a lot of people. Let's lift each other up.

For y'all that have asked the details... I will post the sign ups, you e-mail me your Pea Name, Regular Name and full address. I collect them and then I e-mail the complete sign up list to everyone that has signed up. You then make or buy christmas cards or whatever holiday you celebrate and mail them to the Peas on the list. We ask that you send as many as you can and before Christmas. Most Peas send them beginning Thanksgiving week or the next. I've received them all the way up to New Years. Remember international takes longer....for US Peas...little tip send those first! So much joy opening my mailbox during the holidays. The point is to have fun.
