Oh that is lovely!
We have an HGTV personality up here - Bryan Baumler - and one of his shows was him building a cottage up in the Muskoka area near his Dad's property. They just announced this spring that they were selling it. His Dad had a stroke last year, and they decided to buy the family cottage and let their dream cottage go, to keep the other one in the family.
Cottage was stunning - but at $1.8 million I think I have to pass!

Love Bryan Baumler's stuff. Just watched the last episode of (I think) the Big Build (houses were Highview and Marguerite). Said Highview went for over the asking price, which was close to $2M. House prices in Sydney are getting up to the same level, so it didn't seem that expensive to me.

Beautiful. I would love that, but the price is a tad high.

Beautiful, incredible views. I dislike the busy custom balustrade they advertise, but I'd suffer through it.

That's an absolutely gorgeous home. I love the paint color in the great room area. Unfortunately it's a little over my price range, and not in a convenient area for me.
Wonder why she is selling, and where she is going? I'm just nosy - or curious, to put it in more polite terms!

I've been following somewhat on IG. Seems like a huge change. Hope it's for the best.

Wonder why she is selling, and where she is going? I'm just nosy - or curious, to put it in more polite terms! They're moving to his family's ranch in New Mexico. Her DH had been going back and forth between the ranch and Fox Hill for a while. I think he's working on raising beef cattle. Word is she'd also like to open a healthy/vegetarian restaurant in the nearby town.

That's a lovely house. I don't know if I want to live somewhere that needs a heated driveway.

That's interesting - I knew about the cattle, but didn't know about her interest in a restaurant. (Hmmm... this is starting to sound a lot like the Pioneer Woman story!)
I admit that I watched the realtor's video of the property. I follow NieNie on Instagram and up until a few weeks ago, the driveway wasn't paved and they hadn't sodded the yard. Now that the finishing touches are in place, it really sets it off beautifully.
They are living in the ranch homestead for now but she has written about building a new house on the property. No doubt that when the time comes, it will be equally gorgeous.

That's a lovely house. I don't know if I want to live somewhere that needs a heated driveway. It would beat the heck out of shovelling - that is one long and treacherous driveway!

Wow beautiful home. I don't care for the green and salmon color in the bedrooms though...easy fix though.
Wasn't there drama surrounding this person before? Forgive me if I'm off base.

The views and the pool are stunning but the interior of the house does nothing for me.

Are there stairs going down under the pool? I've never seen that before.

Man this brings me back to my heyday of blog reading and scrapbooking. I remember when she was first injured and reading about it on the old boards. Time flies.
And yes that is a beautiful house.

I'm the odd duck, I don't care for the house at all. The yard and pool are beautiful, otherwise, I nothing I would want.

I like parts of the house, but I find the mantelpiece just stuck on the wall above the fire a bit odd. One might even say a bit McMansion.

I LOVE that house. There is so much that I really love about it. Roof lines, windows, the architecture of it, the layout.

she has ... interesting ... taste.
the furniture placement is unfortunate in most of the rooms.
the balusters are too busy!
i think the house could be great with someone else's personal touch.

I think its a beautiful home - though the designs of the railings is a bit busy for me. I actually remember reading about NieNie on the old board. I had an login but never used it to post. Just read and run.

Wasn't there drama surrounding this person before? I LOVE the swings in the dining room! (pic #16 in the link). NoWomanNoCry I think the drama was that she posted pics of her kids riding in cars with no seat belts and on boats with no life jackets.

It is a busy m, trendy design! And they've added to the clutter of it with a portable. Why would they have a custom or built-in screen after all that expense?

Gorgeous home but I, too would have to change those balustrades immediately because it's what my eye went to first. Shockingly small kitchen for a 1.6 million dollar house, but at least it has an awesome range in it.

The views and the pool are stunning but the interior of the house does nothing for me. I know it is irrelevant to the bones of the house, but I LOL at the four post bed tucked under the slanted roof so they could only put the posts on the foot board. All the built-in twin beds are fun when the kids are little but that kind of customization isn't great for resell or when your kids hit their teens.

Are there stairs going down under the pool? I've never seen that before. The pool controls and filter/heater, etc. will be placed down there.

It's way too big for my tastes or needs, and I much prefer a much older home. However, it does have a lot of details that I tend to see in older homes such as built-ins, little nooks, unexpected storage (if that's what the door under the stairs is all about), window seats, etc., and I do like those details. Ultimately, though, if I had that amount of money to spend, I would invest it in something much smaller and much older. (And I'm assuming it would have a killer location as well if I were paying the same amount for a house only a quarter of the size.)

What shocked me is the property taxes. That is what I pay for a $210k home in Nebraska. Stacy
