OK. I'm tired of stamp/die sets that repeat the same word just to have the word in singular and plural. For example, this month's MFT stamp and die has a great sentiment stamp/die that says STAR and STARS! Those two words are really big and take up about 30% of the stamp. WHY!!>>>>! Just make STAR and then an 'S' so that people can add the 'S' stamp if they want to. Alternatively just make STARS, then people can mask off the 'S' part of STARS and just get STAR. Same w/the dies. The die can be STARS. If you don't want the 'S', just cut it off. I know that stamping the 'S' separately might be a bit tricky if you also want to die cut it because you'd have to align the 'S' properly, but you could use the die to help w/placement. Or, you could go w/the other approach of just making the STARS stamp and masking the 'S' - then you'd know that when you want the 'S' it will match w/the 'STARS' die, and when you don't, you cut it. Either way, I'd rather have more sentiments or images on the stamp set and pay less for a single die instead of the same word twice. And they've done it before too. </gripe>

There were several sayings I loved in that set, and the font is amazing, but the double stars bugged me, too.

Totally agree with you! Especially when the font is identical in both words. I would say I'm impressed with how many verses they fit into that set.

or even make just STARS and you can always cover the "S" at the end with tape so it doesn't ink and then just stamp STAR.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

Hey, thanks you guys. Sometimes I hate to bring up a gripe, because, well, you know, not exactly earth shattering.....But, for goodness sakes, MFT and others, please make the best use of the limited space on a stamp set or in how you arrange dies. That's why I love stamps like Concord & 9th. In just a few images, you can make lots of variations. That's what I would like to see more of. Like, I always loved this one. You rotate, mask, use the extra knot and can make LOTS of different images w/just a simple set.

i guess they needed both to go with the phrases but I agree--mask off the 's'. That would irritate me too. How about a word that goes with star like shine or light?

I'll be the odd woman out here and say that I actually prefer it with both words, because I hate doing two steps when I could have done one. Personally I like that they offer both options! Just goes to show how we're all different.

Also, both of those sets have matching dies and lining up the extra letter can be a pain! Plus, I'm lazy!

I totally get where you're coming from.
But anyone who has dexterity issues does not want to have to go through the trouble of masking a stamp or lining up a letter to add on the end.
And I disagree that cutting the S off a die cut is the way to go-- a die cut gives a much different finished edge than a scissors (it's why I like dies better than fussy cutting), and lopping off the extra letter is going to end your word with a blunt edge that doesn't match the rest of the font.
