LisaDV no I'd don't - I have Photoshop Elements though and recently upgraded with the idea of using the Organiser facility. But I don't get on with it at all, sadly. That could be as a result of my lack of patience in adopting a new workflow (!) or perhaps that it's not very good! The jury is out for the time being. I'll look at Lightroom though. Maybe it's better suited to my needs? I use pse for my digital pages, but I'm not crazy about the organizer system. Well other than importing photos and renaming them. i think they may have fixed some of the issues with it in the last few releases, but I still don't use it. Have you ever tagged/labeled your digital stuff before?

Have you ever tagged/labeled your digital stuff before? No, I haven't needed to, with all the thumbnails there to see (and I didn't have very much, either) But I can see how useful it would be to do that before I acquire much more stuff! TBH I hadn't come across Lightroom until recently. I upgraded my PSE to 15 and there was an offer on for Lightroom too. Maybe I should have paid more attention at the time? I had the idea that it was for photographers rather than creative souls like ourselves and dismissed it without real consideration. Time to return and take a closer look, I think.

Great thread. I got this Bead Storage container to store my Distress Oxide foams in. (not my idea, I saw it on YT). I use that same container to store my small wood veneer shapes.

Can you share a picture of the case? I am trying to figure out how to store mine. Thanks. Joann's is having a 40% online storage sale, but I cannot find the item online. Any help would be appreciated.

I couldn't find it on their website either. I know Amazon has them, just not sure of the name. Edna, Janet or some other chick's name.

This is an awesome idea for a thread.
My challenge is organizing embellishments. I am thinking by categories like baby, little girl, little boy, various holidays, various sports, graduation, wedding. Some of these categories I have tons and some just a few. Then there is just stuff that's pretty flowers...or geometric shapes or whatever and can go in multiple categories.
I'm stumped so haven't attempted to sort/organize yet. I have an old PSB (paper sticker binder for the youngins) that I have some stuff in but just have lots more tucked away everywhere.
Help.

This is how I'm storing in a FridgeBin, for now anyway. All my full sized inks are stored in FridgeBins. Minis are stored in the mini distress storage containers, in a FridgeBin! And of course they are in alpha order! I used your bead container for inspiration. I was just going to go with lids only (to avoid all of the screwing), but ended up finding this container at Walmart. I have the extra pads in the longer containers. It easily fits sideways in front of my two ink totes in my Table Tidy. Thanks for the idea!

I might have gotten a wild hair last night that didn't quite pan out. I have one of the 5ft long Linnmon table tops on some extended legs (in theory, it was to make it taller and push my Raskogs underneath if they don't have tall things in the top, but I only ever got one of them short enough...2 issues, 1. I was tired of fussing to get the legs to match, I had 2 and they didn't make that set anymore so I had to get 2 more...getting them to match was not fun so I didn't want to try and make them taller when I realized I couldn't fit most of my carts underneath and 2. I ended up putting an Alex drawer on wheels underneath and it took up half of the space). Well, I tried to measure as best as I could with it full of crap underneath, but I couldn't fit the 2x2 kallax I stole from the hallway (stealing furniture you already own is a fantastic incentive to go through things you just shove in available space...ended up throwing away at least 15 pairs of shoes that were old or outgrown in order to take it) underneath it that I thought would fit side by side with the Alex drawer unit. The legs are too far in (by design, so I can't really change that without risking the sturdiness of the table) so they didn't want to share the space. Instead, I ended up taking apart the entire table last night, lowering the table heigh (that was the worst part of it) and turning the 2x2 kallax sideways to use it instead of 2 of the legs. I'm not sure how I feel about it, yet, because I can't rest the table completely against the wall (the kallax is about an inch deeper than the table) but I'm going to enjoy the extra storage.
I'm pretty sure my plan is to move some things from my 5x5 kallax over there. I have a cube of finished albums along with a bunch of empty albums that are just wasting precious space near my work area. The space to access the back 2 cubes is a bit tight to get to, so I might move over some things I know I won't access frequently back there...not sure if it will be the albums or what, just yet, though. It's already growing on me. I don't always adjust to big changes easily, so the fact that I'm already starting to get used to it means that there is a better chance it will stay put. The plan is to make it so I have a cube for the container I got for my 6x8 stamps along with some other extras (it's just over half of the width of one of the cubbies) and then maybe just have some room to grow in my stash.

I need this thread. My scrap area is a mess and though I'm making small progress, I have a long ways to go. I'm going to tackle my stamps first since half the time I can't find what I'm looking for and it's driving me nuts. Regarding digital supplies, I'm thinking about using Lightroom as well. It works really well for organizing my photos so why not digital supplies? I'm thinking I can use keywords to tag them with useful search terms. elegantsufficiency, you can search folders by file type so I would think you would be able to do a search for all "abr" files if that's what you were looking for.

this is a great thread! I am one of the 'rummage through boxes' type scrappers; I also travel to crops with my supplies, so they have to be easily portable, and boxes do that for me.
My small embellishments-- enamel dots, wood veneers, etc.) are in 4x6 photo boxes (the Iris ones) that fit into a larger carrying cases.
My larger items are in 12x12 Iris containers arranged by 'like' items-- one box for small letter stickers, one box for Thickers, one box for stencils, one box for all patterned paper scraps, etc.
I have my mini Distress inks and applicator tool in a cigar box, and my Stickles are all just tossed in a larger cigar box, but I'd like to change that up, somehow. Other things, like my 6x6 papers, page kits, etc. get put into large zipper bags-- not the best, though.
I like the idea of using the bead containers for the foam ink applicators- right now I have the foam applicators tucked underneath each one-- they do stack OKAY like that, but not the best. I do still have some full-size Distress inks, so would like to keep the mini ones and full-sized ones together somehow.

I have been working recently on a purge and re-org of my scrap room and I wanted to do a little tour for my youtube channel. Is there something specific you guys are looking for when you watch a studio tour? I still have a few details to work out before it's ready to be shown, so I will be watching this thread for more tips and tricks!

I have two smaller bedrooms as my craft space. One room is mediums and stamps. Other room is dies and paper and embellishments.
Tomorrow I'm tackling stamp room. It's a disaster area since my retreat in May and early August. I have recently organized my stamps. But there are bags and totes of stuff. So goal is get all loose stuff out of stamp room and vacuum and dust and put stuff away in there.
I have a weeks vacation coming up late October and I'd like my space to be usable.
I usually don't scrap in my room. I have a small desk in there (by choice)(i have had bigger tables and can still do so. But since I am mostly a coffee table crafter decided to go smaller desk more shelving space.). I'd like to try to craft in the room again. The desk is essentially same size as coffee table. This way though I can start on a project and continue to leave it out not have to clean up.
So this weekend I'd like to have that room cleaned. Then next weekend start on other room.

I am having second thoughts on ribbon storage. I have one of these best organizers and I hate it. I also have a bunch of ribbon spools dumped in a bin. But I have to paw through them to find what I want. Help!

I am putting my craft room back together and am finding I need some better organizational items. I've started the die and stamp organization with the fridge bins and organization by theme. I had already started my embossing folder organization by numbering them and embossing a corresponding tag and numbering the tag. Then I only need to grab the ring with the tags and look for the design I want. That's really smart, I may copy that. Thanks!

It has since been purged and updated with newer ribbons. The basket is completely full and I should purge again. I crop at home and away, so this basket is perfect for me to be able to see what I have and since the "spools" are pretty flat, I can easily toss them in my kit when I scrap away from home .

Wonder if they might be over in the sewing area for other crafts. It would be an easy pattern to create and cut out of pliable plastic.

Any ideas for storing/placing larger items - like papercutter (12x12), typewriter, cricut, Big Kick - it seems my larger tools are taking up all of my desk space. I need a place to put them, but not out of sight/out of mind. Most of my room space is already taken with other full bookshelves and such.

Could you fit in a 4 cube kallax type unit www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20275814/ (Walmart has almost this exact same thing, too, under their better homes & gardens brand). You could store your items in the cubes and use the top of it when you need to pull them out and actually use them.

Some 12x12 trimmers aren't big and heavy, others are, so it might be possible to find a way to hang them from something on the wall within reach but up and out of the way when not in use. I have a Raskog with a cutting board (it has a way to hang off of the side if I want to access what's under the cutting board, too) that I use if my trimmer is in the way. I wish it were slightly larger so I could also use it to keep my album laid out and open (I have tried and only succeeded in knocking it off while open multiple times, lol) and my trimmer fit more comfortably, but it works okay. If you could somehow get your hands on a good sized scrap piece of butcher block, something like that might work, too.

My old entertainment cabinet holds my stuff like that...it just happened to fit in the room . I'm not able to fit enough bookcases to hold all my albums though, but they don't really have to be in the scrapbook room.
