It can be to ask questions, share progress (just talking it through or even posting before/after photos), look for ideas (share things from pinterest, our own discoveries, etc) or even just wanting other people to give us a forceful shove to get moving on something we've been delaying. I love sharing what I accomplish in my space, I'm not ashamed to admit that I like to receive accolades for finishing something, lol. I feel productive spending my time tidying up, especially if it's been a long time coming (i.e. I've found every excuse imaginable NOT to tackle the project staring me in the face) and I also enjoy seeing what others are doing in their space. When I feel like I need to do something but am not motivated, seeing other people's progress gives me a boost to tackle my own projects. I've spent the last few weeks working on various organizing projects and one major project still looms: labeling all of the stamps I moved into pockets from their retail packaging. I kept the paper backers for most stamp sets and it adds a lot of bulk when more stamps have the backers than don't. But I'll be honest, the idea of having to type literally hundreds of labels out on my labeler (it works great especially considering I've had it since high school, but it's ABC order not QWERTY which slows me down quite a bit) is more daunting to me than other cleaning tasks that had been put off for the better part of a year. So, tell me. What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you WANT to tackle but haven't started? What are you struggling to find solutions for? What do you need to get going on a project you've been delaying? Are you saving up for anything fun (reno, new furniture piece, etc) to make your space more functional? My only current problem that is a relatively easy solution (if I find one) is knowing which fridge binz container to buy for the extra large stamp pockets (the ones that hold 6x8 stamps). If anyone else uses those pockets and knows which one to get that doesn't waste a lot of space (I love that the ones Jennifer McGuire uses for stamps leave no gap at all with the 4x6 stamp pockets), I would love to know where to look. I'm open to other containers, too.

I have been progressing fairly well with re-organizing my room. I had to pack it up earlier this year, and actually, unpacking and rethinking the organization has been nice.
A recent project has been to put my Bling in a ROYGBP type of order. I have old tins from Stampin' Up...so one tin has ROY the other has GBP and then there is one for Neutrals. I have multicolored in a basket and these are all in an Ikea Raskog cart.
A couple of areas I would really like to work on is my project life style cards and figure out an inventory of my stamps.
Will be watching how you handle your stamps. Would be interested in how you categorize them. By Brand? By theme? I'm kind of a mix of both. For example, I keep my CTMH stamps together but in categories, such as sentiments..children..seasonal...that type of thing. I think I use something similar as stamp pockets (the ones by Avery Elle) to keep my project life cards by collection. And I use the fridge bins for my 6x6 papers.

I love a good organizing thread!
I am generally very organized, but I could not find my ATG refills. I just bought 20 of them in a joint buy with other Peas! I did eventually find them, luckily.

I stopped at The Container Store on my way to a crop this weekend. We don't have one in our city, so I stop anytime I drive through Denver alone. I found an acrylic nail polish stand that has four tiers. I have three already. This one is going to hold tags. I have a bunch of generic tags that I would use more often if they were in plain sight.

I'm working on my embellishments and journaling options and things from cut apart sheets. I instituted a binder system last year but have tons of new stuff to add to it now and it's becoming a mess already. I've been watching videos but those little plastic cases seem to be the fav thing and I'm just not a dig through person. I have to keep my stuff packed away unless in use as well so I can't do the more elaborate systems. Any suggestions for items or videos? I'm about ready to just stick them in ziplocs, put the ziplocs in page protectors, and call it good. But then I've got bulging binders to deal with. LOL If it isn't one thing, it's another.

My stuff is pretty well organized but now I'm working on better ways to store. I'm still trying new ways to store my stamps. I decided to try the EZ Mount pages and bought a package to see if I like it. It works well for my rubber stamps, which have their cushion. Unfortunately the Amazon reviews were right--the clear stamps don't stick to it very well. I figured I'd try sticking them to Duralar as suggested here and store them in plastic pages in the same binders so everything is together. My stamps are stored by theme although I have a few sets I've kept together.
This thread is a great idea. I can always use organization and storerage tips.

A thread is a great idea. I don't have any big projects underway but always like hearing about tips/ideas etc for different ways to organise. I'm thinking about having some painting done next year, including the craft room. So I'm sure that will give an opportunity to look at things again.

I sat next to a lady at a crop this weekend. She does mixed media and loves "messy." HA. I am the polar opposite. We both had the Oxide Inks. Hers were thrown willy nilly into a tote and mine were compactly arranged with their matching refills into a case that fits them perfectly. I also had two swatches for each ink. One was for the regular ink and the other had the water splatters on it. They were both on rings and tucked in neatly in the carrying case. She had a giant Creative Memories tote with everything (about half of the things were in containers) thrown in there. I unpacked my rolling totes and built small skyscrapers upwards so all of my stuff was visible and easy to reach. We always sit nest to each other at this crop and I thoroughly enjoy her. We just laugh at how anal/messy we each are.

I love reading about organisation and seeing how other people organise their stuff. I'm not sure how much I can contribute - my scrapbook area is small and pretty much organised but I don't have the wide range of stuff that most of you do -no mixed media, no PL...

I'd like some thoughts on organising digital media. I struggle trying to find things like .abr brush files which are parts of a collection, say, or particular elements which are scattered here and there in folders. I generally scroll quickly through Picasa thumbnails but as that program is on its way out, I'm thinking it might be time for a complete rethink.
My apologies if this takes the thread in a totally different direction. I'll begin a new one if that makes more sense.

Absolutely - I'm always looking for new ideas shared and learned. This weekend I had some drawer type cabinets that fit a large box with lid. However, the lid has been bugging me because you have to take the whole thing out to take the lid off, etc. - so I just took the lids off. So much better - acts like a real drawer now and I'll store the lids somewhere else just in case... I ever need them again.

I got mine for 50% off. I have six of them and love them for travel. Since the ink is supposed to be stored upside down, it helps that the cases easily sit on their sides. I am pretty sure it is a Totally Tiffany case. They are in the section that sells the clear plastic scrapbook storage.

I am putting my craft room back together and am finding I need some better organizational items. I've started the die and stamp organization with the fridge bins and organization by theme. I had already started my embossing folder organization by numbering them and embossing a corresponding tag and numbering the tag. Then I only need to grab the ring with the tags and look for the design I want.

950nancy - is this the Total Tiffany tote? Yes, It is the longest one of the three that they sell at JoAnn's. They also fit in the short case, but you can't fit as many.

I store my stamps & dies in the Avery Elle storage pockets but I wasn't a fan of the Fridge Binz. I needed something that closed with a lid and could be stacked. So I use the Really Useful Box (3 litre, I think). The pockets fit perfectly by laying them on their side.
I store my cardstock in 12 x 12 Memory Keeper storage folders from Hobby Lobby. (They are the ones that have a string looped around two circles to secure the flap closed.) They go on sale regularly so I was able to get a sleeve for every color. These are all then stored in a 13"x13" Fabric Bin from Target (or Ikea).
I'm still working on how to best store my embellishments so that I can easily find what I need. I have lots of dust where I live so I like everything to be enclosed. Thus the reasons for my stamp and paper storage above.

Thus the reasons for my stamp and paper storage above. I keep most of my embellishments in plastic folders by theme. I will have to find the name of the manufacturer. they are 13X13 and have either a plastic snap or tie so they stay closed.

Great thread. I got this Bead Storage container to store my Distress Oxide foams in. (not my idea, I saw it on YT). The little round guys fit the round foam blenders perfectly. I originally had them velcroed to the bottom of the ink container but they didn't stack and it was messy. Then I velcroed them to the side of the FridgeBinz I was using for ink storage, but it was messy too. I've used this new method for a couple of weeks now and the only issue I have is that I have to unscrew the lid of the individual container to get to the foam. And I have to use the lid because that's where the name is labled on. I'll post photos in a bit.

This is how I'm storing in a FridgeBin, for now anyway. All my full sized inks are stored in FridgeBins. Minis are stored in the mini distress storage containers, in a FridgeBin! And of course they are in alpha order! Attachments:

You add tags/labels to the kits. I was using acdsee for this but haven't kept it up this year. I want to move to lightroom. I then tag the item thumbnail with "brush" to make it easy to search. I keep kits by designer.

LisaDV no I'd don't - I have Photoshop Elements though and recently upgraded with the idea of using the Organiser facility. But I don't get on with it at all, sadly. That could be as a result of my lack of patience in adopting a new workflow (!) or perhaps that it's not very good! The jury is out for the time being. I'll look at Lightroom though. Maybe it's better suited to my needs?

I am in the process office separating my wooden rubber stamp sets and individual into themes. I'm tagging and organizing in Evernote (I believe evernote's use was due to anniefb). I'm also rearranging my theme embellishments. They're going into cases and into a different drawer. I had them in file folders but they were hard to get to and items would fall out. I'm also in the process of organizing my sequins.
