Wow, I love this place. We resent the people who paid to help keep the site running like we're accustomed to. Also, clicking on a picture takes too long. Awesome. (By the way, thanks to the admin and those who contributed.) No good deed goes unpunished apparently! It's almost time to break out the Hoff and Jell-O molds... Maybe the Hoff eating a Jell-O mold while surfing and NSBR and clicking on pictures to see them better! :-) and puppies

Thank you to admin and to those that contributed.
I think the banners help keep all money transactions above board. We know that there have been many scams with money and this is about as up front and honest as the admin can be without opening up her personal emails and accounts to others.
People who contributed can see that they are listed and know that the money went to the cause...no funny business (not that I think there would be but things go south around here fast).
The banner doesn't bother me at all! If I would have been around I would have sent a contribution, but I wasn't. Maybe next time. Whatever.

The only thing I dislike about having to click the pictures is that it opens the picture up in that tab and you can't click it away or hit the escape button to go back to the post. I have to hit the back button, click a picture, hit the back button again to return to the post to click on the next picture.

Great. Now they're all going to make a secret "Site Supporter" board and talk bad about the rest of us. PS...Thanks for paying for my smilies...

Admin, I *heart* you!
And to the 18 supporters, a big thank you!
I'm sure most of us would have contributed had we been online at the right time.
I'll send my donation to the Harvey/Irma relief efforts.

I want to thank those who contributed & those who tried to contribute. I was unable to even see the thread due to no electricity due to the hurricane. I'm glad enough people stepped up. That's what I love about this place.

If you're using phone or tablet I have no idea and I'm no help.

Huh, and here I thought maybe those who contributed would have wanted to remain anonymous, guess I was wrong. I truly don't care either way, but I do want to say Thank You to all those who helped. well, I didn't know there would be acknowledgment on my profile and I wouldn't have raised my hand and shouted "it was me!I gave $5!!!!" But I also don't care that anybody knows. I use this site a lot (as my post count can confirm) and I was on the board and willing to contribute. I think the way admin did it was admirable. She figured out how much she needed and cut it off at that using PayPal. She could have collected from everybody who offered, not done the badge and kept the overage which could have been hundreds or thousands of dollars. Doing it the way she did and adding the badge shows that she only took enough to cover the cost. There is no conspiracy and no want to show people up. I wouldn't have even noticed had this thread not popped up. And yeah, I could eliminate the badge and may do so in the future, but I'm sure that would draw questions as well. I happened to be on when it popped up, and since I'm on here all the time it seemed like a better thing to drop five bucks on than some of the other things I've spent five bucks on! And I happen to really like emojis...

That is the thread you choose as your example? All you have to do is touch the picture and you see the enlarged version. I don't have time for that. If I had multiple pictures I wanted to share I would host them somewhere and make it easy for someone to scroll through my thread. I still don't understand. Are you trying to say that you see those photos as tiny? It would be so helpful if folks would write even a word or two of their own to go along with a link, then no one has to guess what your point is. It might be helpful if you read what I wrote. "I wish we could stop this lazy trend of uploading tiny pics on here."Because they are using the attach button on this board instead of hosting it somewhere like we always did on the old board. This is not the old board. Move on. The facility is there - to be used.

OK I don't mind the banners (thanks to everyone who contributed - I read the thread on the go and forgot when I got home) but we're lazy if we attach pictures? WTF? When I use the attachment feature I have to resize my picture and either transfer it to my pc and post from there or use my phone and switch to the desktop site, attach the picture, and then switch back to the mobile version. I guess it would actually be easier to link it from smugmug now that I think about it. If only the craptastic smugmug app wasn't 2 weeks behind on my auto uploads-I can't upload anything else from my phone while it's catching up (which, so far, it has almost never done).
To open anything, including attachments, in a new window, I just long click and choose open in a new tab on my phone or ctrl click on my pc. It takes no more time than a regular click. It's amazing how lazy we've become when a click is just too much.

This thread is making a mountain out of a molehill. Far too many disasters in the world to be upset by a small banner over someone's avatar IMO. Thank you to the contributors that were on line when the call went out, it's appreciated. Don't worry about it admin .....you can't please all of the people all of the time and you're doing a grand job.

(By the way, thanks to the admin and those who contributed.) This. I know the last post I saw was admin was figuring out the logistics of giving the money, I figured I'd wait until she figured it out before pm'ing. The the next was she had enough, and the site supporter banners were flying. My first thought was the peas are super awesome!!! I should start a thread "thank you to the site supporter peas". My second thought was I guess I should of pm'd when I first saw the thread. SO, to all the site supporters and admin, Thanks for being AWESOME!!

Firstly when it was the original Two Peas I would never have contributed, that was a business and the boards were an added extra they offered to draw people to their site. They already made their profit.
However this board was set up by one person who is not trying to sell us anything so contributing financially is a whole different matter. I get the "if 9000 people donated 1 cent each..." mentality, but what a freaking nightmare for admin to collect piddly amounts of change from hundreds of people...it's not even practical. If the ladies who were reading the thread & volunteered to donate $5 or $10 without being asked then I don't blame her for taking up the offer from 18 people instead of 80...let's remember she is doing this in her own time and if that's what is easiest for her (and the other 4 thousand members still get the benefit) then some people need to quit bitching about it. If Admin wants to thank those people with a banner, so what? 18 people have a banner and 3982 don't, really? some people actually expend energy into caring about stupid stuff like that? Be happy and move on.
Photobucket suddenly changed what they were doing and a new service had to be found, Admin did that in her own time so people here could keep using the smilies and avatars, signatures etc without too much interuption. So thanks to her and those that contributed so readily so everyone could benefit, I want to add my thanks and appreciation to those who already have.
As for uploading of photos, I use both ways and I do so for different reasons. When you choose uploading via "add attachments" you can add larger photos that way and they don't take up too much room in the thread or make the overall thread too slow to load. I like it when people use it for the craft thread because then when I open the photo I can see the big version with lots of detail. If it's a general photo thread and everyone is wanting to see the photos in the thread then I'll use the hosting method.
However if clicking on picture and then clicking the back button takes you *sooo much effort* then I'm perfectly OK with you not looking at the photos my lazy self posted. Really it's OK not to click and look at the big version, I don't care, I'm doing it to share a photo, I'm not here to make your life "two clicks easier" for you.

I will say this place never ceases to amaze me.
Thank you Admin and site supporters. I would rather 'hang' out on a board where the admin had an overabundance of people looking to help her keep the community alive than a board where everyone went "meh, not my problem". That's what I think is special here, people really care.
Had I seen the post, I would have jumped in to help but I didn't see it until it was too late. I will not get my panties in a bunch because those who did are being recognized with a banner. I mean COME ON!

Come to think of it, he'd make a great Pea. <----- I can't decide which emoji to use here. Part of me is laughing and part of me wants to pull out the popcorn machine and urge him to join. So, naturally, I opted for the Shocked face, since I'm short-circuiting on the best choice. Again, it doesn't reflect adversely on anyone. Jeez... IDK, Marianne. I'm pretty sure it means that you are an elitist and you've lost touch with us common folks.

Additionally, if you're on a pc and use a mouse, pressing the scroll wheel while on the link should do the same thing.
