Does this new "site supporter" mean peas are contributing monetarily to this site? Not sure I like that being publicly advertised.

Read the admin post at the top of all of the regular posts. That's odd because the only admin post I see at the top is one about Photobucket and avatars that people have that are hosted by that site.

It's hard to read with all the colors on a blue background. So people are contributing money so they can continue to upload tiny pictures to their posts? And in turn the admin has a list of those people's names and addresses?

After the first x number of contributions (I think 18) there was enough for the five years, so she stopped accepting contributions. The badge just shows the fastest; we can't tell who offered and were turned down from who didn't offer at all.

Don't like the banner since even if you offered your offer may not have been accepted. Maybe those with the banner will start a secret banner only folder. This is NSBR after all, we aren't exactly kumbaya about this stuff. 🤣

Does it really matter who did what when? The call went out for help in paying for a photo hosting site. Some of us responded, obviously sooner than others... it was just a matter of who saw the message sooner. It's not a contest, there's no prize, and it certainly doesn't reflect on anyone personally. Once admin had enough people willing to contribute, there wasn't a need for more. That's all. There's no need to create drama where there is none. Again, it doesn't reflect adversely on anyone. Jeez...

And in turn the admin has a list of those people's names and addresses? People contributed so EVERYONE can add pictures to their posts, including **your** peacock avatar. It takes money to run this board and all of its functions. Up to this point admin has been shouldering the full cost alone. A change in photobucket's policy means we lose the place hosting the smilies and avatars. She asked if some of us would consider helping pay the cost of hosting so we keep the smilies, the personal avatars, sigline images and anything else ANYONE wants to post. The admin now knows my name but does not have my address.

It was strictly a timing issue. If you happened to be on the board when the call went out for assistance, then sent a message to admin , you had the chance to contribute. This is one of those time where we here at NSBR like to say "life isn't fair". As voltagain pointed out, we did this so the entire board could benefit. I've never seen so many people get pissy over the fact that they couldn't contribute $5 to an anonymous person via PayPal. If ya'll really want to relieve yourselves of $5, please make a donation to the relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma or any one of the many disasters currently occurring in the world. If the fact that I have a banner on my avatar bothers any of you, please feel free to ignore me, not interact with me, or even block me. Sheesh, ya'll are beginning to sound like my DH. The one who came home all pissed off because the car in front of him at Chick-Fil-A did an RAK one morning and covered the cost of his chicken biscuit and coffee. Come to think of it, he'd make a great Pea. So people are contributing money so they can continue to upload tiny pictures to their posts? And in turn the admin has a list of those people's names and addresses? Admin pointed out that by donating, she would have our names and email addresses. We knew this upfront and those who donated had no issue with it. If we don't have an issue with her having that information, why should you?

i did not see the original message until sunday night since i'm not on the board as much on the weekends as i am on the weekdays. i would like to have participated had i seen it sooner but i really appreciate those who came in immediately to support the board for another 5 years. i know that badge will probably irk some people but i think it is a small token of thanks to those those who made it possible for the rest of us to enjoy this place for many more years.

Okay, off topic, but why did your DH have an issue with someone buying his breakfast? I like to do that when I go through the drive-thru, which isn't very often, but I never thought I'd make someone mad by doing that!

I had to explain to him the whole process of what a RAK was and that, no he would not be required to do the same. DD and I always give him a hard time about it. Other than that, he really is a nice guy who is very generous!

That is the thread you choose as your example? All you have to do is touch the picture and you see the enlarged version.

I still don't understand. Are you trying to say that you see those photos as tiny? It would be so helpful if folks would write even a word or two of their own to go along with a link, then no one has to guess what your point is. For the record, those pics look to be a really good size to me. Perhaps it has to do with how you access the board? As in what device you use? I've seen some pics here so large that you have to scroll to see the entire photo. These do not take up a lot of space on my screen, but are easily large enough for me to see their faces, background, etc. And I don't get why photo size has something to do with laziness, either. I had quickly read the post about welcoming contributions, but I was in the middle of something and didn't get back to it soon enough to contribute. So I'm just here to say thank you to those of you who gave to help keep this place going for all of us! And always, big thanks to admin for everything you do here!

Well it certainly shouldn't cause drama. Who would be upset that the 1st 18 people who could offer $5 and were online at the correct time get a little banner? There are far more and bigger things done and said here to start drama...please let us focus on those and let's drop this one. ETA - I neglected to also say a big thanks to the Admin. It is greatly appreciated and you do a good job IMO of keeping control and not having control.

Huh, and here I thought maybe those who contributed would have wanted to remain anonymous, guess I was wrong. I truly don't care either way, but I do want to say Thank You to all those who helped.

That is the thread you choose as your example? All you have to do is touch the picture and you see the enlarged version. I don't have time for that. If I had multiple pictures I wanted to share I would host them somewhere and make it easy for someone to scroll through my thread. I still don't understand. Are you trying to say that you see those photos as tiny? It would be so helpful if folks would write even a word or two of their own to go along with a link, then no one has to guess what your point is. It might be helpful if you read what I wrote. "I wish we could stop this lazy trend of uploading tiny pics on here."Because they are using the attach button on this board instead of hosting it somewhere like we always did on the old board.

My thoughts: Annabella, you sound unusually cranky today. Is everything OK? Thanks to everyone who stepped up quickly to support the site for the benefit of all of us. Because you each have a badge and I don't I'm going to start a spreadsheet, stalk your every move, and resent you for your generosity until the end of my days.
