I caved and purchased the WITL kit because it sounds fun to track everyday of the week. I also got a 3x8 album for WITL to start off easy with pictures printed from phones I have a couple sets that I can use as WITL. I also bought the 2019 WITL kit to get started and settled. I think the concept is great. I may not follow direct prompts, but what I do follow will represent my station.

Is there a reason we need to know she is taking a vacation? Unless it is a one person show, shouldn’t a business run smoothly with or without its owner? Also, what was with announcing the vacation and turning off comments?
Anyway, all the jet setting coinciding with the price hikes is not a good look.

As a business owner that sells a product, I agree. We try to keep any big purchases on the down low from our customers who are obviously paying our paychecks. Especially if we’ve had to raise prices. “Sorry I had to charge you an extra $100 for that socket set, we’ve got a cruise to fund! Follow along on our Facebook stories!” Yeah no. At some point it would be prudent to separate personal from business even if you’re a professional scrapbooker. Your buying audience shouldn’t know everything.

Announcing that you’re away when you share photos of your house and the city you live in, just doesn’t seem super smart to me. And it’s not like every single of these trips is documented for class and blog fodder. I don’t get her line of thinking, but that’s just me. I also still can’t figure out what her husband does, not that I should care. Is he also self employed? I just couldn’t imagine my husband being able to take off of work so much during the week, but he is corporate, so.....

It’s not hard to guesstimate what kind of inventory we have, and our customers know where we live. I get that Ali isn’t sitting on an inventory but it’s still weird to me. I think Aaron is in IT, he’s her it guy for her website.

And going to Hawaii no less. I was just coming to post the same thing. If anything, good for her for being able to provide all 6 kids with great experiences. But as a customer, I see where the need for the price increases is coming from. It is a good thing that she has a loyal fan girl base.

So now Ali is offering ‘Design Class’. You get the Story kit class. The story kit digitals and stamp digital for $20.
Thoughts?

Also, what was with announcing the vacation and turning off comments? Anyway, all the jet setting coinciding with the price hikes is not a good look. Wholeheartedly agree. Reminds me of some career advice I read when I was starting out..."dress nicely, but not so nicely that your clients wonder if they're paying you too much."
All the back-to-back vacation pics and info are in poor taste, considering that most of her customers probably can't afford to do half the stuff she does. If I were her, I'd definitely hold back.

I'm thinking a person might be better off subbing to the physical kits and stamp, getting the classroom and digitals free, and selling the physical products? I did that several times with kits I didn't like. I always got more than $10 each for them, so you'd be better off than paying the $20 for "design class"...unless there's something I'm not thinking of here? Assuming a 12 month commitment of course (*shudder*)..

It was previously the digital kit subscription, which came with the digital kit + stamp + class. They renamed it to call it the class and then throw in the digitals. I have no clue why they did that, it seemed perfectly fine the way they had it before, but maybe people weren't clear on if they got the class content with the digital kit? She makes it seem like there are a lot of "digital only" scrapbookers that like and purchase the digital story kit/classroom. loveslabradors I don't think you would make out ahead doing that. I'm at the 12-month price so I pay $40 for both kits, even if I sold them each for $10, I would still just break even and I'd have the hassle of trying to sell them. But I guess if you could sell them for more than $10 each or if you wanted some of the products? Personally I wouldn't want the hassle of tracking down buyers and then shipping them out every month, especially because some months probably won't sell that well.

It's never good when you get compared to Becky "Crazy Tears" Higgins, jussayin'.
Look up your own gifs? 😁 // *sends smooch* 💖 All the back-to-back vacation pics and info are in poor taste, considering that most of her customers probably can't afford to do half the stuff she does. If I were her, I'd definitely hold back. Very poor taste. Relatability has a sharp, sometimes unforgiving edge. Major house reno, Anthropologie clothes, new employee, loads of vacations: it's not a good look especially just after major price increases in your business.

For anyone wondering about the “mystery” journal card offer that shows up in the AE cart, I got the 2018 DD Colorful Christmas cards. Seriously, just a mystery sticker stuck onto the December daily packaging. It was not a mixture of DD, WITL, and DITL or whatever else that it was supposed to be.

I should have just stuck with the page protectors I needed (which is basically all I will buy from her).

My assumption was the cards come from a mix of past product, not that you will get a mix. Like one person will get WITL cards, one might get DD cards, etc, similar to how SC does it.

Interesting, I read it the other way... that they will grab a bunch of random cards from various old kits and you will get a selection. Similar to how KP does her grab bag sets. I thought SC does that too?

I know KP mixes them up though, I've gotten her grab bag cards before and you get an assortment from various kits.

That makes sense. I *assumed* it would be like other club grab bags, and be a mixture of leftovers, not current product from a few months ago. My mistake. I don’t think AE really knew either though, and I’ve asked CS before and waited 1/2 hr for an answer about mysteries. So basically, I think it can mean whatever the Inked packers want it to mean. No big deal. I will use the set I got in my DD that I am still working through.
