Our furnace heats our water too, so is always "on", but I keep the thermostat set at 15C during summer. What with the outside temp being well below freezing the last couple of nights, the furnace blowers have been cutting in. It's officially fall here!

We're just back from a beach holiday so the U.K. coolness did hit home and I have had my heating on for an hour here and there over the last couple of days.

Not yet. We had a cool week last week but not enough to think about heat. The mid-80s came back for the weekend, along with the A/C for a few hours. I'm hoping for another 4-6 weeks before we need the furnace.

Funny thing that happened to us - we had our ac/heating system checked this past spring after being in our house for 2 years. Found out that our heater wasn't even hooked up. Yes, 2 winters in the house and have never turned the heater on. LOL, that's my kind of winter!

Our A/C has been back on the past few days. Southern NH. So humid and hot I can't stand it. I'm beyond ready for 50's and Fall.

I contemplated it this morning. It wasn't even that chilly, but I despise being cold. There are a lot times when our heat runs in the morning and then the ac runs in the afternoon

Ok DS and I are delicate little flowers. It was his idea to turn it on and I was in agreement with him. I wanted to hold out until at least autumn but we didn't make it that far. We do live right near the water and there is a lot of wind off the water, too, so that could make a difference maybe?

We're in central NYS and still have the AC on since it was 85 and humid today. Normally I try and hold out until November 1st.

We almost never put the heater on. I prefer using a blanket and a pair of socks.

No heat on here in Indiana yet. It's been in the high 80s with heat indexes in the 90s the last few days.

My house has no heat source. At one time it had a wood stove in the living room but not when we bought it. Our house in Tarpon Springs had a fireplace. We are putting in Mini Splits within the next year.

Yes, just turned it on for the first time here in our part of WA. I've dusted off the space heaters too. Summer is over and the rain and cold have started again - boot and cardigan weather, yay .

It was pretty chilly here this morning, but we didn't turn the heat on. I'm expecting we'll have to soon, though.
I am switching out my summer quilt for the winter duvet tonight, though.

Oh heavens, no. It has been about 105º average this week. I don't expect to use the heat setting until maybe January or February. Might use it a couple of times before then, we'll just have to see what this year brings.

The house has to be below 57 for me to consider turning the heat on for a minute. I hate the heater. I like being a little cold. It'll be January before it could possibly be an issue though. With our weather today, it will be next week. Our fall is always a little all over the place. One day 58 degrees and the next 88.

We just shut the air off yesterday. Was between 85-90 the end of last week. If I can help it won't turn it on until nov.

Our A/C has been back on the past few days. Southern NH. So humid and hot I can't stand it. I'm beyond ready for 50's and Fall. We went hiking last weekend and the trees were green. This weekend we were about two miles south at the same elevation and things are changing quickly. We don't have much for humidity thank goodness. I hate sweating.

Nope, we turned the AC back on today. It's been cooler here lately about 80 degrees during the day and in the 50's at night. It's back to being hot this weekend. I think yesterday we got close to 90, today it was 85. [br Here too. Today was awful with the humidity.

Not yet, but summer is done, according to the weather app on my phone. Yesterday, we got up to 78 degrees. Today, it's 60, and will continue to be in the low 60's for the next week. That is typically how we go from summer to fall around here!

I live on the Canadian prairies, so the furnace never gets turned off! 😉 Our thermostat is programmable so the air conditioner and furnace each kick in at preset temps--we've needed heat a couple times in the last week or two ... but we've needed air, too ... fall is so all over the place!
