I am another classical music lover and I choose 1740's. My favorite is The Messiah ..George Handel.

I graduated in 96. So I'll go with 90s grunge.

I'm a metalhead, and every decade from the 70s til now is a great decade I would say that the 80s brought some really big bands to the scene, like Iron Maiden and Metallica. But the 00s, with the Gothenburg metal, is a good contender. ETA: I was a teenager in the 90s.

I'll go with the 60s but I really like the older music from the 40s and 50s as well.

I really couldn't pick one decade as my favourite for music. I would have LOVED to have been a teenager in the 50s like my dad and to be there for the emergence of rock and roll. The 60s with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds then later Janis Joplin - how awesome to have been around then! The 70s when Australian rock really came of age - I was just a couple of years too young in the 70s. I was a teenager in the 80s so I have a special place in my heart for 80s music, but mainly Australian rock, not so much the Duran Duran type music. The 90s were pretty great for rock and grunge. Then after that I started living in a time warp still playing my old music!

I admit I'm partial to the mid-to-late 60s, and early-to-mid '70s. Awesome musicianship, harmonies, rhythm. Who can top the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Doors, and so many more. Definitely music of my youth. But I also LOVE music of the 30s and 40s. Music my Dad loved and played incessantly when I was growing up and I thought was boring: Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw.... vocals of Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney, early Frank Sinatra. So innovative and complex. Love it!

The 80s followed closely by the 70s. I was a teen in the 90s but even as a teen I listened to music from the 80s or earlier. I love ccr, fleetwood Mac, Cindy lauper.
