I've gotten a basket together so far it's mostly just albums
I've made a list of which collections I want to use for each year
I've also been thinking maybe I could do a 25 Christmas moments for my new nephew or niece that's arriving around thanksgiving anyone with kids know if that's possible with a newborn?

Ha!! I actually made the file today - so pull your cameo 3 out and get it plugged in. Let me test the file a couple of times and then I will share. SaveSave oh my word! that scares me to death - i am SO NOT tech inclined - if all i had to do is plug it in, i'd have been using it before!!! It is super easy! My mom uses hers all the time and she can't get her printer to work on her computer. Seriously, once she got a new mouse and after I connected it for her the printer was acting up. So she called me to say her printer wouldn't work because it "didn't like the mouse." If a woman that technically challenged can work the cameo, you can figure it out too!

I just placed my DD order. And it was so much less than what I'd initially put in my cart. I spent 24h going back and forth: "Stop it. Take that out of the cart. Stick to your minimalist guns. Let's just do this one DD and not be ashamed of having a super simple aesthetic. Do you, boo, and you'll succeed. Quit it with the embellishments and extra papers. Just buy the core stuff and be done with it." The crazy was taking over, let me tell ya. I'm glad I talked myself out of half of my original cart content and pulled the trigger. Just waiting for my DD order to be delivered now... Here is my core kit for a very clean and mega simple DD this year (everything else will be pulled from my stash):

I'm here mom and nicolep! How can I help? Firstly, the file saving issue. I'm not using a Cameo 3 and can open .studio3 files easily. I think it's not so much the machine that will have a problem with the file, it's the software itself. If you have not upgraded from V2 files to V3 files then your software won't read the .studio3 format. Note: this is not the same as the move to upgrading software to V4 with the new layout design. I have Business Edition and indeed there is an option to Save As Silhouette Studio V2 - I do not know if it is there in other editions. If you have the Business Edition you could also choose to save as JPG, PDF or SVG. It occurs to me that saving the file as SVG would remove the problem of file type for Silhouette users. Not being a long-time user I presume Silhouette software could open SVG format before any recent upgrades? Although a quick check of the version comparison seems to indicate the basic edition does not open SVG... mom if you don't have the ability to save as SVG and/or V2, message me and we'll sort something out. I can't seem to find the half circle paper you mention mom, can someone link me? You mention using the Sketch effect for it. You probably know this but it caught me out because I'm a bit daft... The Sketch lines don't print, they have to be done with a Sketch pen or other pen. nicolep will know from my IG yesterday, messing with the blade/pen holder is akin to mountain-climbing for me so I wanted to use the Sketch effect because I like the look, but not use the pen and thought the lines would print. However, not to be beaten I reckon I can do it my way by exporting my design as a JPG image, and then import it to get the Sketch effect lines. I may try that today... I'll keep looking for this half-circle paper you all mention and see what I can make of it I thought I wasn't doing a DD this year so wasn't paying much attention to this and other threads. Having read this one through from the beginning I am now wavering... Anyway, hope I've helped a bit. I'll keep an eye out in case there are other questions, and please do ask if there's anything else I can do to help your DD journeys

JaneB it's the half circle notepad with the star on it directly below the hearts in this kit photo Ahh, thank you very much. I was looking for a paper pad with half circle designs rather than an actual half circle paper pad. Hmm, I could do that... once my office is cleaned and I can get back to my desk.

Thank you all for looking into my Silhouette question. I bet I can use mom's file even if it's not a legacy file because I have upgraded the software to v.3. I was probably going to change the star (or heart or tree) to a Print-n-Cut instead of using a Sketch pen because, for me, that'd be easier than fiddling with pens. sleepingbooty Your DD is going to be amazing! You definitely have a great eye for matching different collections!

Oh wow, thanks for all the love, ladies! I was so not expecting that. Blushing behind the laptop screen. To be perfectly honest, I think I played it pretty straightforward, safe and simple with my choices. I'm not worthy of your praise. I love that Christmas Delivery line too. I bought it last year AND I bought 2 sheets of chipboard. Let me send you one! Aww, thank you so much! I think it'll cost you more to ship it to me than for me to purchase it from an online scrap store in my country though. I'm going to hunt for it later in the week. Yes!!!! You are joining me with those amazing echo park albums. I love the Christmas delivery kit too. I have a piece of that paper in my kit. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. They are lovely! Thanks for bringing them to our attention, ecvnj58! I had such a hard time tracking them down in Europe. Scrapdelight.nl is completely sold out for both the buffalo plaid and black & white check. Another online scrap store still had one buffalo plaid but at double the price! After several hours of searching, I ended up finding my black & white check album on a Spanish store's website. Maze-running stuff!

So I made the half circle with heart file a print and cut. Can someone volunteer to test the file out for me? I did it the only way I knew how - but I am not sure I did it right. Any volunteers?

ahhh nice try, sleepingbooty . But no. You just get a pat on the back! Hey, you can't blame a girl for trying. After all, Inked taught us to #HUSTLE! Looking forward to seeing you ladies replicate the elements from the main kit you liked the most. (By the way, did you post a photo of your felt hearts, mom?)

I currently have all of the stuff I bought for this year’s December Daily together in one box, waiting for December. I’ve been going through all of my Christmas stash, and getting it organized, and sorted. The idea was to purge some stuff, but I can’t seem to part with even the oldest stuff. I have a Christmas addiction I think🙈. The good news is that I don’t have as much as I thought I did, so I don’t feel as bad about the amount of stuff I bought this year. I got a 2nd Raskog cart last week, and I’m setting it up with my Christmas supplies (since I work on my December Daily throughout the year, and I’m also catching up on back years). Today I printed, and got ready all of the cards I bought from In a Creative Bubble. I’m really happy with them, and considering buying more of the collection.

View AttachmentOk, here is my heart that I made to be like Ali's - minus the stitching. I just used the 'wonky heart' cut file and my silhouette to cut it out. You can see my reason why page behind it. Looks great!

Normally i just keep my December in my PL album. I've started two DD. The first was 2012 and I finished around Jan 6 of 2013. I used a smashbook. The 2nd is 2015 and I bought an official DD kit. Still haven't done that one. i find Ali's kit hard to separate from Ali's style and i struggle to make it "mine". The smashbook i did do daily. I didn't have pictures for each day. Days without a current photo or story i used some prompts to fill. One day i put in samples of gift wrap from years gone by. I still have gift wrap from my 1st married Christmas in 1990. one page i put in my favorite Christmas movies/shows. Another page was a giant vent about a co-worker that seriously pissed me off. A page had all my shopping receipts and I paper pieced a bunch of presents to decorate my page. In this case i think NOT using pocket pages fueled my creativity. Pockets in this case were too limiting.
ETA: My completed DD is not exactly aestheticly pleasing. Things don't match. But it tells my story. I think that has been another stumbling block for me. The desire to make it all cohesive and pretty as opposed to just documenting my December.

mom - I love your wonky felt heart (not sure how to tag someone)! I have a cameo I purchased 4-5 years ago and I have not used it in almost 4 years. sad. I feel like I need to learn how to all over. Also, on another note, I purchased an AE stamp set off of you in a FB group a while back and it is my favorite stamp ever and I am not a stamper. It's the one with different size boxes of lines for journaling and hearts. sleepingbooty - love the kit you put together! I hope you will share some of your pages too. Loving all the inspiration and DD advice here from everyone!

I'm going to replicate the ever controversial half circles with the star. I mean, it's just a circle cut in half. I can use one of the million tiny hearts or stars than come in almost every stamp set. And i can print them on my printer at any size and add a border if i want too.

justlisa7 I'll share my lousy minimalist pages, promise. I hope you'll dust off your Cameo and use that beauty. 4 years is far too long to let such a workhorse sleep. Go wake that thing up and get some Cameo magic happening. PS: you can tag someone by either typing @ immediately followed by their screen name or use the "Reply" function instead of "Quick reply" (you'll see a "Reply button in the top right corner of your "Quick Reply" box to expand to the full "Reply"/"Create Post" layout) and clicking on the @ sign with a person emoticon next to it. Just start typing the screen name of the person you wish to tag and you'll see suggestions pop up. If someone has a different screen name than their login name (you can chose to do so), you'll still find them in that list and be able to tag them. mom Digging the heart! Much cheaper than buying the main kit too... Win-win! lisacharlotte Will you be joining us for DD this year? If so, have you selected a format?
