The purpose of toner is to remove residual cleanser so your skin is ready for serum or moisturiser. It canβt really be a 2 in 1 product imo. That's a good point, gar. It says leave on micellar water. It's for cleaning your skin but I wash it off anyway. It's a bit sticky until it dries. So I need a toner of some sort. Any suggestions?

Do you want a hydrating toner or an acid toner? I don't know? What do I want? I mean I have a peeling pad from Peter Thomas Roth that has all sorts of good things in it that I am to use 3x week. It is a 20% acid complex with glycolic, salicylic, lactic, amino acids, Vitamins A, C,and E. It is quite amazing I must say. You leave it on for 3 minutes and then wash it off. My skin feels amazing, but it doesn't say "toner" on it. What is a hydrating toner?

What is a hydrating toner? Beauty WaterThe purpose of a toner is to bring your skin back to its natural ph level. This Korean toner from SokoGlam does the trick. It is a hydrating toner and makes my dry skin feel so good.

Most of the reviews were 5* but they were 18-24 year olds. I liked the 44-54 year old range and they all liked it a lot. I will try it! Thanks!

I don't use a separate toner because I use micellar water, which doesn't need to be rinsed off the way a typical cleansers do. Admittedly, I'm lazy about all of it, and honestly want as few steps as possible, and I don't want to deal with wash cloths. Some days I use a makeup remover wipe first and then micellar water on a cotton pad to get off whatever was left behind, and no matter how well I think I wiped my face, there's always some there. I'd like to find bigger disposable cotton cloths or something, the little round or square cotton pads are kind of a pain because they're so small.
I'm using Philosophy micellar water now, but when it's gone I'm going to try another brand. Garnier & Simple seem to get good reviews and they're a lot cheaper for bigger bottles.

I have just stated to use R & F toner at night (it had poly hydroxyl acids in it) and it cosmetics miracle water in the morning.

I tried Garnier and it has a pink cap? I found it was too harsh on my eyes but everything else about it was good! I tried Origins Mushroom Water, Vichy, Dior, and maybe something else I am forgetting. As long as I don't use them on my eyes I am fine. I got the Dior for Christmas and that's why I am using it. I do like it the best, too, though. It's pretty soft I think. I also hear you about steps. I don't want more steps. There are people who turn skincare into an art form. I am not one of them. I have 5 creams to put on tonight and no makeup to take off. I am just going to wash my face with a terry washcloth and apply my skincare products, Retin A and hydroquinone/hyuluronoic acid (help!). I really like it! My doctor's office makes it and sells it. I like it better than I can get at the drug store so that makes me happy. The drug store hydroquinone is greasy and I don't like it at all. This dries down to nothing.

That toner had a lot of alcohol and I think the intention was further cleaning and drying. An acid toner has AHA or BHA (or both) or other ingredients to exfoliate. A hydrating toner, like a previous poster mentioned, adds moisture and balances skin ph.

Micellar water shouldn't feel sticky, does it have other things added? I use a glycolic acid soaked pad after a foaming cleanser but I don't think that counts as a toner. I've never used one I don't think.

I have just stated to use R & F toner at night (it had poly hydroxyl acids in it) and it cosmetics miracle water in the morning. Do you like it so far? Does it agree with your skin? Does it feel like high end skincare that it claims to be? I am still interested! Itβs only been a few days but so far so good. Sometimes if seems like it isnβt moisturizing enough right after applying. But then my skin seems to balance out. I didnβt buy the additional products (active hydrating serum and another serum with retinol). I thought about using something else on top of or a serum that I already have under the R and F but I kind of want to just use the R and F to see if it makes a difference on its own. I canβt decide on that. Here is what I have been doing so far: PMβremove eye makeup with bye bye makeup and confidence in a cleanser. Use R and F toner and PM moisturizer. I havenβt used Retin-a this week but will start again tonight. I wanted to see how much face would react to the other products first. AMβuse the R and F daily cleansing mask with also exfoliates. Follow with it cosmetics miracle water and the r and F am cream. I use It cosmetics feel the moment primer which is also moisturizing so that helps with my winter dryness. In the summer I wonβt need that. I also just got the R and F eye cream (that was a free gift from the consultant so it came later). I havenβt decided if I will use it am and pm or just pm and then use my other eye cream in the morning until itβs gone. Again, it would be nice to use up my other products and make the R and F last longer, but I also want to know how well the R and F works and will I see true results if I only use it half of the time? I donβt know what it feels any different than anything else, so Iβm hoping the results are worth it. I wish they had prettier packaging. It isnβt a big deal, but the packaging is very simple and clinical looking.

Today my skin was raw. I did full makeup for fun (sans eye shadow) and I had to take it all off tonight so I used Bye Bye Makeup to remove it. My skin before this was raw and BBM makes it even worse. I am also on a really high strength of Retin-A (0.14% and it has treatment effects...peeling and dryness which is what you want for acne but not for wrinkles). Anyway, there is nothing that is going to quench this skin. I couldn't open my eyes fully because the skin was so tight from BBM. I used coconut oil on my eyes and it helped a bit. My dermatologist doesn't want me using coconut oil. I then put Monistat Anti-Chaffing Gel on my skin and the sting went away instantaneously. It has now soaked into my skin so I will put my Drunk Elephant on now. Bet you didn't know that Monistat can soak in. Yeah it can and does. If your skin is raw and red Monistat to the rescue!

First of all, Delta Dawn -- I'd love to see your skincare/makeup inventory! Second, a question: why can't I see my eye shadow after I leave my restroom and my magnifying mirror? I can *see* it, but it's not nearly as vivid. Is it fading on my way to work? Just evaporating into the atmosphere? I use cheapo stuff. Not a lot of pigment payoff, as I've seen bragged about on Youtube when reviewing various higher end eye shadows. Is my lighted magnifying mirror exaggerating what the colors look like in normal lighting and conditions? Do I need to pile more on, so that it's scary in the magnifying mirror, but can be seen elsewhere? My eyeliner and mascara don't disappear like the eye shadow does. I *DO* use an eye shadow primer.

First of all, Delta Dawn -- I'd love to see your skincare/makeup inventory! I don't really have that much stuff. I do like what I do have but honestly my makeup and skin care hoard isn't good. I am very picky with what I like and what works for me. I do have nice stuff but I don't have Tom Ford or Natasha Denona. I don't need to spend that kind of money on anything. I am sure I could justify doing so I just don't. I could try to do a video and upload it somewhere. I will ask DIL how to do so as she knows this stuff.

sharlag Have you tried a setting spray on your brush before you dip into your eyeshadow? It will intensify the color and make it stay longer. I have only done this with my lid color, so no idea if you can do it with the rest of your colors and blend. I wouldn't think it would work because it would be too wet.

There IS a difference in pigmentation levels with higher-end shadows. My Tarte shadows stay put all day. I sometimes use a setting spray as well.

Yes, I saw her announcement. Iβll just say βitβs not for meβ I was excited for Tati's release I will admit that. She and I like a lot of the same things and I was really excited. Vitamins? I took hair, nail and skin vitamins and I learned they are a waste of money on me as my skin is dry but very good. I don't need my hair to grow any faster. It's expensive enough thanks. My nails I keep short and they are healthy looking so it's lost on me. Also, what does she know about vitamins? She's a beauty product pusher. She worked at Nordstrom in Seattle. She wears makeup. She demonstrates how to be rich and have a glamorous life. If Jamison's approached her and said we'd like you to be our product rep then yeah I'd believe that but these are all her research and hard work? No medical studies? Nothing? I am not buying into it. Makeup I would have set an alarm for tomorrow (Friday) morning.

Iβve always used LancΓ΄me toner and picked up some Mari Badescu aloe vera toner this weekend (we were traveling and stopped at Ulta and they didnβt have LancΓ΄me).
I love it! I think as I use up other products, Iβll try some others of this brand.

Are there any tips or tricks to using one? Is it going to make me break out? I know the sprayer itself has a lot to do with it. I'm just starting to experiment with these and haven't tried NYX. Elf sent me a free one with an order and it blasted my face- I mean soaked it. When it dried, it left little flecks all over my face and didn't keep my shine away. I do use it for eyeshadow and it's fine. I picked up a Wet n Wild to try. I am not willing for shell out big bucks for this stuff yet. Let us know how it works! Delta Dawn I would have been happy with an a couple of eyeshadow palettes or a line of lipsticks. I don't think this is going to be a winner for her...

I think they have 3 or 4 different ones, I use "De-Slick", meant for oily skin. I like it. I want to try Glamglow's just because Laura Lee said it smelled like cotton candy in one of her videos.
