Hey! I couldn't find a general thread where we can chit chat about makeup and beauty. Sometimes you just wanna tell someone about that new lipstick you bought without creating a whole thread. π So here one is. I can delete this one if there is one around that I missed. So to kickstart the thread - tell me your go-to product of the moment! Ps. All beauty talk invited - including hair and skincare topics.

Great idea! I'll try to add to the topic at some point but it's late and I have to go to bed! π

I see ELF products mentioned here quite often and I recently saw them in a store here (in the UK) for the first time which was interesting πI'd be interested to hear what are people's favourites. Hope that doesn't hi-jack your thread OP!

Hope that doesn't hi-jack your thread OP! Honestly, the only ELF products I use are their brushes. I'm just not that impressed otherwise. The brushes are nice for the price. My favorite new thing is that I've started using is the Origins Perfect World cleanser and toner. I like them better than the Olay Regenerist cleanser I had been using, but which had changed their formula. I also got a Makeup Forever waterproof eyeliner pencil that actually seems to stay put. I struggle a lot with any kind of pencil eyeliner not smearing or disappearing. Even the UD 24/7 pencils were a bust for me. I had just been using my Tarte shadows as a liner, but missed the nice line a pencil makes.

I used to swear by Bobbi Brown gel liners but they (and UD's) just slide off within the hour now despite trying a plethora of primers too. The best results I get now are with Smashbox lid primer and a cheap not too creamy, drugstore pencil. I don't know the Makeup Forever brand but I'll look out for it. Thanks for the info about the ELF stuff.

Hope that doesn't hi-jack your thread OP! Not at all - discuss away! I used ELF products when I first got interested in makeup, mainly their brushes. They're good for the cost, but I am not sure I would recommend them for much more than that. I do however love their undereye setting powder. I haven't seen that here in the UK, yet. I used to buy it from the US and get it shipped over here.

I love IT eyeliners. I never liked Urban Decay liners. They just smeared and faded away (and I do not have oily skin). But I would give these liners a big thumbs up!! Ulta It Liners link

After I put Cerave moisturizer on, I use Nivea Skin Firming & Smoothing concentrated serum on my brow bone and under my eyes and around my jaw line. It helps to tighten those areas up and reduce puffiness.

My friend gave me this eyeshadow palette and I love it, the colours are so vibrant and life's too short to not wear flamingo pink eyeshadow Save

I feel like Iβm using this wrong. I typically use it over my IT Bye Bye Undereye concealer and I feel like the powder accentuates the wrinkles. But Iβm a makeup dummy so please educate me on how to make this stuff work

I couldn't get my usual morning serum (it seems to have been discontinued) so I'm using L'oreal Revitalift instead. I like it so far, it's light and absorbs quickly.

I've been using Neogen lemon peel twice a week lately and like it. I got it at Sephora and it's $27. There's enough on the pad to do your dΓ©colletage and arms/hands.
sephora gives free samples so get one to see if you like it too

But Iβm a makeup dummy so please educate me on how to make this stuff work It might be the reflective stuff inside the elf setting powder. From memory it has some sort of reflecting pigment in it that might be drawing light to your under eye area and accentuating the wrinkles. Other than that, if you don't already - use a fluffy eyeshadow brush rather than packing it on with a powder brush or puff. It will put down less product. Hope that helps!!

Hope that doesn't hi-jack your thread OP! The only thing I have from this brand is their Essential Lip Kiss Balm in Bare Kiss. I received it in one of my Target Beauty Boxes one time and I instantly loved it. It is the perfect color for me. Every time I went to Target, they were sold out of it except for the last time. I ended up buying their entire stash (5). I now have one at work, car, and a couple of purses. For $2 each, it was totally worth it!

I just got a sample of Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash. It is creamy and delightful. It takes just a tiny bit to really get frothy and foamy and feel so good on your face.

I went into Ulta the other day, and for some reason, I looked at the Clairsonic brushes. Did anyone know that they now make a makeup application brush? I tried it, and I love it!
I use it with a tiny bit of foundation, and it looks great! I'm not sure that I have ever been so immediately pleased with any makeup, so I thought I'd share.

I bought a Maybelline shadow pallet the other day and am so disappointed with it. The colors hardly show and I've tried wetting it and using different brushes. Normally I buy eye shadow at Sephora but I wanted something quick, different while I was in the drugstore rather than going to the mall.

MAC released the Nicki Minaj collection of 18 lipsticks and lipglosses. I'm currently wearing the Spice lipgloss.

Well, my second Clairsonic just died (damn them!). I swear they have a shelf life of two years tops. Then they just stop charging. Makes me so mad, they aren't cheap. Why, why, can't they just come up with a way to remove the rechargable batteries? Ugh. I decided not to buy another one, but I've been missing it and now this news kinda makes me start wanting one again. I mask, I exfoliate, but nothing makes me skin feel as clean as the Clairsonic.

Hope that doesn't hi-jack your thread OP! I just bought ELF products for the first time and so far, so good. I bought the blush brush and their "Blush Palette Light." The colors are not overwhelming and I find that they stay put throughout the day. I'm thinking about trying an eye shadow palette next but have so much luck with the NARS line (Kuala Lumpur to be exact) that I hate to change.

I just bought some of the It No Tug eyeliner during the 21 days of beauty sale at Ulta and this stuff really doesn't tug. It is awesome. My new holy grail eyeliner.

The ELF under eye setting powder works great! But I just get the tiniest bit on the tip of my finger and pat it under both eyes. My favorite thing from ELF is their Makeup Remover Pen. Perfect for getting a good line with your liner. Makeup Remover Pen

My favorite lip product is Mac Lip Prep & Prime. Really great but kind of expensive and you go through it pretty fast. But it's the best.

Love the Clarisonic make up brush head.
Not a big fan of Elf products either. But, I have a couple Wet n Wild items I love...their Color Icon blush and photofocus foundation.
For setting under eye concealer, I use the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Power for Under Eyes. I dab the tip of a beauty blender into the powder and then under my eyes. Then brush off any excess with a big fluffy brush. I don't bake it but dab, press and brush right away.
I'm currently LOVING the Modern Neutrals eye shadow pallet from BH Cosmetics. Tons of colors, all matte and they blend so beautifully.

cmpeter Just wanted to say thanks for posting about Careprost. I ordered it around middle-end of August and now I have long lashes again!!! Oh, and I used that tiny Elf brush to apply it. Now to find a great mascara. I know there are a million threads!
