We are having chicken and steak fajitas tonight. I wanted to have leftover taco soup, but two nights in a row is too much for my non soup loving family.

Hi my dad had a seafood salad and I had duck confit better than anywhere in the universe or history of people eating confit. Yeah no exaggeration. I was in a brassiere behind the Chanel building and was able to experience this masterpiece. It was so good!
Do I have to start cooking again next week really?

I was going to run home at lunch time and put a pot roast in the crockpot for a late dinner tonight. But I got a message from DH about an hour ago that said he won't be home today. So no sense in making the pot roast he wanted. I think I am just going to have sandwiches.

Hot dogs, fresh fruit, french fries for dd and onion rings for dh and I. It is Fri-yay, it has been a long tiring week, the KC Chiefs lost last night, and I totally need easy. With minimal clean up. I may even go with paper plates.

So excited we are out of leftovers!!!!!
BF brought home two grocery bags filled with bell peppers, so I suspect that by the time I get home, I will be asked to make rice for stuffed peppers.

I'm still a couple hours out from dinner and searching for ideas here. Baked potatoes are my back up plan if no other ideas pop up. Very ready for a restful weekend.

Montannie I have been craving stuffed peppers. Unfortunately I am the only person in the house who will eat them. Have you tried freezing them? I was thinking I could make a bunch and freeze them for nights when I dine alone.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying baby back ribs, French fries, and some sort of macaroni salad. The use of a pressure cooker and the grill will be employed to cook the ribs.....And we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary year (of Cookies) using Cookies BBQ sauce.
Happy Dance Friday Everybody!

I love to have them this time of year!

Happy Friday!! We will be heading out for the weekend tomorrow for a wedding away. We are extending our stay to head home on Monday. Can't wait!! We will go shopping tonight for daughter to find her something to wear to said wedding. She doesn't wear dresses, so this will be interesting. As we are out, we may or may not get something to eat. Ha.

I think Costco rotisserie chicken. I'm going to make my Dad a apple crisp and need a boat-load of apples, so what better excuse to go to Costco? I'll get the chicken, apples and the 100s of other things that fall into my cart.

Chicken cacciatore with polenta. Broccoli, too. The final pieces of the raspberry pie.
Rest easy, oh loving leader. Rest easy.
Thanks for the thread.

Sorry the hubs wont make it home tonight jeremysgirl.
Hope you have sweet dreams when your head hit the pillow scrapmaven.
What book are you discussing tonight leannec?
I usually don't cook on Fridays but I have a ton of chicken fried rice left over from last night. Apparently I got a little zealous when cooking the rice! So for tonight I took out a marinated flank steak out of the freezer, I can see some sesame seeds through the bag so I am assuming its marinated in some sort of Asian flavor! I will have dh grill that while Kait and I are at our weekly yoga class.

Most likely eggs for dinner here! I've worked more this week, DS#1 has a soccer game until 6 pm, DS#2 is headed to Webelo Woods with his Boy Scout troop. We have 9 chickens and right now about 2 1/2 dozen eggs. Time to eat a few and also process some to freeze for when they stop laying in the dead of winter!

I had no idea you could freeze eggs! I don't know why this seems so amazing to me, but it does. Have a great weekend away scrappert! How disappointing DH isn't coming tonight, jeremysgirl. Hope you are having sweet dreams this afternoon, scrapmaven. I pulled a bag of chili out of the freezer and will serve if with nachos.

Montannie I have been craving stuffed peppers. Unfortunately I am the only person in the house who will eat them. Have you tried freezing them? I was thinking I could make a bunch and freeze them for nights when I dine alone. I’m not Montannie and I haven’t frozen stuffed peppers but my husband buys Stouffer’s frozen stuffed peppers all the time. I’m sure you could freeze homemade ones! Dh and I just came from lunch out and BJs. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken for lunch and we bought a cooked chicken for dinner. I think the BJs chickens are pretty much the same as the Costco chickens. We also bought cole slaw mix and corn muffins. I’ll probably have chicken and leftover spaghetti squash from the other night. I’m trying to not eat everything in sight this weekend. I have lost and gained the same 3-4 pounds every week for about 2 months. It’s time to step things up. Could I ask for some good thoughts, please? I had a tough morning (my Dad fell on Wednesday and today he thought I was my daughter the entire time I was with him. He asked if my mom had the baby, where I was working and referred to two of my brothers as my uncles. I was so sad when I left him). And when I got home my dh told me some news that is very upsetting. I’ve reached the point where I’m questioning every decision I’ve ever made as a mother. I just want my adult children to become responsible adults already. 😢

((Hugs)) KelleeM. I'm so sorry. I hope your dad's confusion is temporary, and I'm sure even the most perfect mom in the world (although I doubt that mythical creature actually exists) has had days like that. No matter how perfect our parenting has been, some day they will make their own choices, and some of those choices will be good, others bad, and some of them just awful.
