Exactly right for me too! Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland. Apparently, we're the only ones that call them Potato Bugs. Really? What the heck is it if not a potato bug? (I didn't get that question) I think most people call them Roly-Polys.

Two out of three here. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY and have lived in Boston ever since. I have no idea where Minneapolis came from, but apparently I speak like them.
ETA: Jimmies here, too. And I grew up calling the bug a pill bug.

Really? What the heck is it if not a potato bug? (I didn't get that question) I think most people call them Roly-Polys. no, they're pill bugs! lol! some of the other answers for that question were totally different insects- millipedes are not the same thing as a pill bug / sow bug, and a potato bug (well, a potato beetle, anyway) is also a different insect. I was confused by some of the answer choices in a few of the questions, actually, because at least from my perspective, the answer choices were referring to different things entirely.

Mine was very close. "Bubbler" and "Pop" always give me away with these quizzes. They both have a fairly limited range.

Apparently, we're the only ones that call them Potato Bugs. I live in Utah and that's what I call them. My second choice for city was Spokane. Never lived in Washington. A potato bug is completely different from a roly poly, or pill, bug. A potato bug is just creepy. Nope, same thing where I live.

Does anyone else use the words drinking fountain and water fountain interchangeably? Also that center of grass in the middle of a road? I've called it a traffic island or just an island.

Google "potato bugs"- they are terrifying. The bugs we call potato bugs are actually some sort of wood lice. Just because we call them potato bugs, doesn't mean they are potato bugs. I do wonder why such a specific area started calling them that though?

I should try the quiz again without answering that one truthfully to see if it still can pin me down as accurately. I say soda and not pop.

I have a question though, do you guys "tuck in" your chairs? I always tell my students to tuck in their chairs ave been told that is funny because you tuck in people, you push in your chairs.

We may call them potato bugs, but that is not what they are. Google "potato bugs" this is what I think of if someone says potato bug: Potato beetle images. (it's a little black / yellow beetle that hangs around on the potato plants in the garden.) this is kind of a funny fact- the 'pill bug' (or sow bug, roly poly, whatever you call it) is in the Family Armadillidiidae... which is perfect, because they LOOK like an armadillo!! (and you're right, Skellinton, they are technically a wood louse. which are isopods, a group of 'terrestrial crustaceans' so they're also related to marine crustaceans!! (yes, I'm a science geek, I admit it!) And Yes, I have said 'tuck in my chair' before... not for a while, though- it's probably something I said more as a kid, maybe? but it still sounds familiar.
