Hi Peas!
Hope it's okay to post more before and afters!
This was my neighbor's house. She died and then her kids left it alone for several years and then recently decided to sell it. They sold it to us. They'd owned it since the 80s so it looked like a time capsule.
Then, before I even began work on it, my friend said she wanted to buy it when I was done with it. She and my hubby went to Junior High together so we've all been friends a long time and they have a child around the same age as my youngest so we're tickled pink to have great neighbors after a successful project.
Rehab time on this one was 8 weeks. It's our most extensive and expensive project to date. We ran in to a ton of expensive electrical problems so I did not get to do everything I wanted to do but I'm still pretty happy with it.
Before:
After: I originally wanted to grass the front yard but that was something that had to go. Thankfully, the buyers were indifferent.
Master Bath Before:
Master Bath After:
Converted plumbing from one sink to two, raised the ceiling, removed carpet (ewww!), new vanity, lights, faucets, etc.
Master Bath Before: (there was just a standard shower behind the curtain, with yellow fiberglass walls
Master Bath After-Custom oversized shower
Guest Bath Before
Guest Bath After--I would normally match the two bathrooms but since I knew the buyers in advance, I could have a little fun with this one
Kitchen Before:
Kitchen After:
We took down that far wall, moved the door to the garage, put the oven where the door was, widened the entire kitchen footprint, removed the ballast lighting, made both long counters into bars, added recessed lighting, and built a pantry. The pantry door was repurposed from a room we tore down. I added the vinyl to the glass and the antique knob just for some pizzazz.
Living area before. The wall with the door that frames my hubby is the one we took down. We also took out that first closet in the hallway in order to make the jumbo shower.
After
Family Room/Dining Room Before. To the left behind the counter was an arched doorway, which we squared off and added french doors to. It leads to an Arizona Room.
After: Budget didn't allow for refacing the fireplace so we painted it, painted the shield, replaced the mantel, and added shiplap, which ties in with the bars of the kitchen opposite it.
Inside the Arizona Room, before.
It was really wasted space before. There was no door, little insulation, and no ventilation so much of the year, it was too hot or too cold. We added doors and a mini split A/C, and new insulation.
After
Also, if you look out the sliding glass door, there was a sauna there on the porch. We tore it down so now they have their porch back.
Looking from the Arizona Room back into the family room
After:
Bedrooms: Removed popcorn ceiling, added new paint, carpet, baseboards, and lighting
After:
Old Entry Way
New Entry
Old yard:
After: If you can believe it, I'm standing in almost the exact same spot in my before pic as the pro stood in his. He has a wider angle lens so he could get the side yard more than I could, but all of this space was hidden in that concrete. The wood in the right foreground of the before is the sauna.
Door:
After:
And a couple more of the kitchen because I love it so much
Thanks for looking!
