For those who have one what kind do you like? I’m looking for an inexpensive one to label my stamp and dies. I need the font to be big enough to w/o my readers. I’m looking to buy next weekend.

I have a brother P-touch I picked up on Black Friday several years ago - it works for me and has different font/size options. I think it was $10? (the cost is, of course, in buying the tape)

Brother P-touch here, too. I’ve had it for a long, long time and don’t remember where I bought it or the price. Probably Amazon or Sam’s Club.

I have Brother Ptouch as well.. I bought from Amazon last year. I love it. Jennifer McGuire has a great video on chain printing so you don’t waste your tape when labeling dies & stamps. I think it’s in her Organization series 2016.

Another vote for Brother P-touch. I got mine from Amazon. Mine is the Brother P-Touch PT-D210 Label Maker. It's $19.99.

Another Brother P-Touch user here although I don't use it for scrapbooking. I have it at work to use.

I love the Dymo Plug n Play. It's different from traditional label makers in that it plugs into your computer and you type on the computer. I like it because I don't have to mess with finding alternate characters on special keyboards or dealing with the caps button (as opposed to a shift button). You can also print in any font that your computer has. Of course the downside to this is that it is not portable but for me in a small 1 bedroom apartment, I'm never far from it. If you have a large house and want something to take into every room it probably would not be a good solution. www.amazon.com/DYMO-LabelManager-Label-Maker-1768960/dp/B00464E5P2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511047987&sr=8-1&keywords=dymo+pnp

Like Linda , it's something I got on a black friday deal for ridiculously cheap. Thanks, streetscrapper , for sharing that the knockoffs work! I have been hesitant to try them because I don't trust half the reviews (good or bad) on Amazon. LOL. Anyway, 1/4" works for CD case spines and 1/2" works for DVD case spines. (That's where I organize my stamps.)

I have the P touch 210 also. It goes on sale now and then at Staples for $9.99. That is when I picked mine up.
ETA - just checked. Staples will have it for $9.99 as part of their Black Friday sale.

I had an old Brother P-touch and used it happily for years. Even when I used it on canisters that went in the dishwasher the labels held strong. So when I decided to get a different one with more features (mine didn't have the tape-saving features that I needed) I chose Brother P-touch again. I got the one that Jennifer McGuire recommends and I love it, but the battery life is horrible. I bought a cord on ebay for about $5. I leave the batteries in so that my preferences are saved but I plug it in when I'm actually using it.

Is there a such thing as an electric embossing label maker?
You know how the old school red and black labels had embossed letters? It’s a pain to dial to the letter and pull the trigger — wondering if you can get the look but have there be some kind of keyboard or screen.

The dial kind not an electric. I should get it down.

The Dymo Plug and Play sure looks interesting. I've used the Brother PTouch at work but I bought the Dymo LabelManager 160 at a Black Friday sale a few years ago. I really like it. I also have the blue labels and clear labels for it. I like my Dymo better than the Ptouch at work.
I also STILL have my mini Dymo embossing label maker that I've had most of my life and the larger version I got a few years later. I've actually cut strips of metallic poster board to use it in and it works great.

(the cost is, of course, in buying the tape) walmart carries the refills pretty reasonably. 0r three black and white for 11.66 on Amazon - off brand but have good reviews

I have an old P Touch, and don't do anything clever with it If I needed a new one I'd look into this.

I had an old Ptouch I loved, but it stopped working. I have the PT90 and I hate it. It's always running out of batteries - even when I don't use it. And the keyboard is non-intuitive to me. The old one just was easier.
I may look for a different alternative.
Thanks for posting.

Got my label maker brother p touch off of amazon for $9.99. Free shipping coming Sunday. No waiting in line. Yay. Now that’s my kind of shopping. Unfortunately I’m going to have to go to the store Saturday to get my washing machine. I’m dreading that. I’m overwhelmed with the choices and still haven’t made up my mind yet.
