I have never watched The Sound of Music. This movie does not appeal to me one bit. If you asked me, I would say the same thing, yet if I click on it, I can't stop watching it!

Love the confessions of people keeping it real. I have a breadmaker, but a few years ago, my husband started playing with it, so now he makes the bread. I'm having him bake loaves all week as gifts to neighbors. I'll wrap them up all pretty, but he'll likely deliver since he's a relentless extrovert and they'll all likely think I made the bread. I'm not going to disabuse them of that notion. I like their candy and cookies and homemade hooch. Why would it matter which member of a couple made the bread that the couple gave to neighbors?
My confession, I buy and wrap all of my own Christmas gifts. My dh is not a jackass, it is just easier for me to click a few buttons on Amazon, or pick something up in the store when I see it. When I went to wrap gifts this year, I realized that I had fewer items than DH or DS (I really thought I had bought quite a bit for myself), so I ordered a Nintendo Switch for myself.

We have a big gala evening at work every year (400 people or so). It's black tie, long dresses. Since pics are taken and since it's more or less the same crowd every year, it's 'important' to wear a different dress. Having everyone come in in gala attire is sort of a Big Thing.
I'm so done with it though.... 'important' my ass. I bought a dress alright; for 18 bucks on ebay.

What did Maria Von Trapp do...... We bought the "delux" DVD and watched all the extras and the I had to read more about the real Maria. She was not a nice person.

The dog ate all the sugar cookies. The ones we went to my moms house to make as I HATE making sugar cookies. DS left the lid off and George is tall enough to counter surf. He walked past me carrying the lid in his mouth and I walked into the kitchen to see the empty box on the floor. I now get to make more sugar cookies and I won't tell my mom where the other ones went.

There are 5 girl cousins in my family. Three are about the same ages, I'm about 10 years older and there is one about 10 years younger. They made a big deal of "all the girl cousins" getting together to make cookies at Grandma's house the weekend before last...except they didn't invite me. (I know it's because I'm older and they think of me more like an aunt...but it still hurt.) So, I happened to stop by to see Grandma while they were baking cookies...just to see the looks on their faces when they realized they forgot me.

This is cute. When my mother was alive she was getting dementia and had judgment issues. I used to hide an emergency chocolate bar (Caramilk for Canadians) in my top left junk drawer. One day she went snooping in my room and took it. I just figured I ate it and that was the end of it. I put another one there and IT vanished, too. Ok someone is stealing my chocolate. One day she came to me asking me if I had any chocolate and I handed her a chocolate bar. Ever after I kept one in there knowing she might want one. I still have some (they were presents from BFF for my birthday-our joke together) and I keep wishing Mom would come and steal one from me.

I was moving our Christmas tree ( which I really wasn't fond of) from where my DH thought it should be ( I didn't agree). Well the tree broke while I was moving it so I went and bought a new that I really like and put it where I wanted it.

I'm exhausted and too sick to be excited about Christmas. I'm going through the motions doing all that I do every year but the joy just isn't there. Don't tell my family.

I'm not materialistic by any means, but I have to admit I get a little jealous of those who get Christmas gifts. DH and I stopped shopping for each other years ago and just focus on the boys. We just are not in a financial position to do it. No one in our extended family shops for adults. I can't remember the last time I got to rip into a present and be surprised at what was given to me and I miss it. I'm not even picky, it could be a dollar store item, it's just that little bit of excitement of getting a present which makes it fun.

When I was in Austria I went on the Sound of Music tour. It's very interesting even though they tell you all the inaccurate parts of the movie (which is a lot). But I still love the money.

I have never watched The Sound of Music. This movie does not appeal to me one bit. This- a million times. I did watch it when I was little. And as I said in another thread- don't like Christmas movies or music. But I'm really not a Scrooge. Now I have to go make all of those friggin' meatballs and freeze them...

I have bought enough stocking stuffers for the kids and DH to fill two full stockings! Have no idea where I’m going to shove it all.
Realized my stocking was pretty empty so I went and bought more stuff for myself.

Here's my Sound of Music confession - I hate Julie Andrews as Von Trapp's love interest. She looks like Mary Poppins with George Clooney.

I have a big crush on Jason Statham.
I don't want to talk to him or get to know him or be intimate...I just want to look at him, preferably without his shirt on. I have no idea why, he's not the physical sort I usually find attractive. LOL
So, I've found that I can save images off the web to my Amazon photos, which is empty otherwise, and display them on my big tv. DH and DD think it's hilarious and love to ask me if I've found any good photos lately.
No idea what the attraction is. I'm usually much more likely to look at twice at someone with a beard (DH has had a beard the entirety of our marriage, so he knows what I like!) LOL

I have a big crush on Jason Statham. I may or may not have a secret pinterest board labeled smut. If such a thing existed he'd be in there. Along with Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston.

I bought a dress alright; for 18 bucks on ebay. my christmas party was black tie dress code. cuz i have a closet full of gowns, of course. i bought a lowbacked black one piece pantsuit with a lace inset in the back, for $13.99 at value village AND used my 30% off card. got matching nine west strappy shoes for $9.99 (also used 30% off card). i got a tons of compliments and didn't say a word. i resent having to fill 5 stockings (even my own) when no one at my house still believes in santa.

I like the songs and the music and Julie Andrews but I agree I watch it mainly for Captain Von Trapp. When he sings Edelweiss is the best part of the movie Fun fact: Christopher Plummer did record the songs, but in the end someone else's voice was dubbed in. Yeah they used someone else's voice to dub in parts of his singing. I've heard the original recording of Christopher Plummer singing it and it's wonderful and heartfelt even if he does pronounce Edelweiss weirdly lol

I dislike the sound of music after reading about Maria von trapp. What did you read about Maria that bothered you? She was very controlling and some of the children ran away. Eta: I want to go to believing that Maria was as kind as she was portrayed to be.
