I am not baking anything. Our daughter is home and is eating everything in sight. If she wasn't a vegetarian I would be afraid for the chickens and turkey. This literally made me laugh out loud!!

I have a confession to make: I watch The Sound of Music, not for the singing, or the cute kids, the heartwarming story or any of the reasons a normal person might watch it. I watch The Sound of Music because I have a huge crush on Captain Von Trapp. That is all. Anyone else need to get something off their chest? Me too! I love the music, the kids, the scenery, but Captain Von Trapp makes me swoon! We recently attended a Broadway touring production of the Sound of Music that came to our town, and it was wonderful, except Captain Von Trapp was certainly NOT Christopher Plummer. He was very talented and gave a fine performance, but, IMHO, something was missing! SaveSave

My confession for today is that I absolutely DETEST the movie A Christmas Story. It’s so gratingly annoying I’ve never watched it all the way through even though several channels have it on 24 hour repeat at this time of year. My DH LOVES this movie - I also detest it and it is going to drive me crazy for the next 24 hours! SaveSave

We may have ordered our Christmas dinner from a grocery store—the same grocery store that we may have also ordered thanksgiving dinner from last month. Luckily, dh knew that those who order Christmas dinner have to pick it up on Christmas Eve. There may have been a pea livid Christmas dinner legend, especially since customers (allegedly) pick up the thanksgiving meal on the morning of thanksgiving.

I do my Thanksgiving dinner from Byerlys, a local upscale grocery store every year. It's fabulous. I do know enough to pick up on Wednesday, lol.

I once bought a big box of ice cream sandwiches from Costco, stuck them in the garage freezer and ate them all without sharing with DH and DS. In less than a week. <hanging.my.head.in.shame>

I can't stand kids. I love MY kids, but kids in general piss me off. Especially my nieces and nephews on my husbands side, it is NOT cute when your brat won't quit screaming at everybody on Christmas and all the adults (except me) just think it's so cute.

Oh and I didn't cook anything for Christmas this year. Frozen pizzas were just as good as anything!

The best of the worst was the one MIL sent out the Christmas after FIL passed away early that year. OMG, she literally wrote in it that she found him “dead in bed.” Not even the tiniest bit of sugar coating there. She was notorious for sending awful holiday letters so DH and I expected it to be bad that year, but this one really took it to a whole new level of bad! I wish now I would have saved it because it was epic. I have a great aunt who does this. The year I had a friend join us for Christmas because she was on her own was the year of the urinary tract infection

We started doing this last year for thanksgiving and Christmas and we aren’t looking back any time soon. We get ours from AJs grocery store. Thanksgiving is a traditional turkey dinner—turkey, potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, gravy, butter, and I’m sure I’m forgetting something. Today was prime rib with all the sides. All we added on was a bottle of wine and some noodles that mil made from scratch.

I buy lots of scrapbooking and card making supplies that I rarely use. I even bought two of the WRMK Precision Press positioners, so obviously I am a hoarder of said craft items as well. 🤔 Is one of them the Precision Press PLUS, that has the Typeset plate? If so, I can't find one to buy and I WOULD use it! I have several Martha Stewart alphabet sets that fit it and I sure could have used it making my Christmas cards. The easier way to make my own sentiment stamps. I have 3 homemade ones and use them all the time. Just can't make a typeset plate!

My husband is a better gift buyer than me. He purchased about 95% of the Christmas gifts for our 3 girls this year and wrapped them too! 😊

I am Judgey McJudgerson. DH and I are doing a totally family and obligations in general free Christmas and are in Vegas. We did the night lights/ fountains/ cocktails tour on Christmas eve. One of the stops was the Elvis impersonator and millions of lights show at Fremont street. Dozens of parents with very young kids in strollers or in hand. Inappropriate, IMO. Poor kids. Late on Christmas eve, they should have been in bed waiting for Santa! Christmas Day, pre dinner drinks at a viewpoint bar in the casino at our hotel. Chosen for people watching. A lot of the people were bored or unhappy looking little kids. Inappropriate, how sad for the kids. These kids were not with actual gamblers, just transiting through (rules, I think) and hopefully on their way to something more fun. To any of the Parents dragging their kids along, not just transisting through, not taking them somewhere more fun, allowing them to misbehave, scream, stomp and moan and generally make other innocent guests suffer, I am definitely judging you. On the good side, DH and I had wagers going on various people watching categories (skimpiest outfit, most Christmassy outfit, most representative of what you would expect in Vegas and so forth) and adding brattiest kid/ worst parent broke the tie and I won.
